Okay, so I got this email from "payments-messages@amazon.com" with the subject: Amazon Payments Billing Issue - Apossum11@yahoo.com

keep in mind, I have never sold anything on amazon and when I log in directly through their site, my account reflects that. I have bought lots of stuff through there, but not since mid-August and there's never been a problem with payments.

Dear Apossum11@yahoo.com ,

The s gives it away. I would stay away from such things, because Amazon wouldn't ask you to change vital information in your account by email.

Do they have an 800 number? Call them directly. Don't put your username and password into a link through an email. If you can't call, ignore this.

The s just means it's over SSL in most cases.

This sounds very similar to the eBay scam emails many people were getting. They use this link and when you "log in" they capture your password. Just ignore the email.

i had a paypal scam similair to this, the best thing to do is to go directly to the website and log in from there, ignoring the email.

For fun, I would just give them a false password and account info. If they accept it then it means it is a scam.

Most of the time I would just ignore them.
