City of Heroes - Looking for someone to play with.

I just picked this up at Target and need someone to play with to show me the ropes. Is anyone even playing this anymore?

I just got into this game a month ago after quiting my two year saga with SWG.. Players are much friendlyer here than in SWG and very helpful. I don't know if I will have time to play tonight but I will do it tomorrow night EST.. I play on the Victory server and one of my toons is Agent'K (with the ' before the K) and yes he looks like his MIB Counterpart (Im suprised that the GM's didn't name change it after they ganked my other toons for name violations). I will help you out the best I can but I think Agent'K is level 12. Add me to friends when you get to Victory and i will see ya tomorrow also mention your from CAG so i will know who u are

To show how little I know, I've started three characters so far, thinking I lost every one each time I tried playing again. Later, I come to find each of the three characters are still there, just specific to their respective server.

lol yea in SWG it shows you the name of your toons on each server upfront instead of digging for it. am slowly getting use to this game. PM me your name here so when I get online tomorrow night I will help you out. Your gonna have fun, trust me.

Quick tip: do not die, cause it'll cause a lot of frustration later on.

When you die, your experience bar fills up with some debt. Debt halves all experience you get until you clear it. Let's say you defeat a thug that normally would give you 26 xp; 13 would go to xp, and 13 would go to debt. 13 isn't very helpful to clear debt, and of course, debt is stackable, so you'll be playing for hours before you're able to gain xp again.

Influence is pretty much worthless. A lot of players will give it to you for free if you're not an ass.

I also heard that the latest issue features some gameplay changes where enemies give pursuit even after you reach a safe zone, i.e. going to a different floor via elevator. So don't think you're out of the frying pan yet.

And this is a really useful chat feature that took me longer than it should have to figure out; if someone whispers you, instead of typing "/w name" or whatever the command is, hitting backspace will let you automatically respond to the last person who whispered you.

its not til level 10 that you get XP debt and yes its a pain in the ass when you get nailed..espically when you help a noob that gets you into trouble :P The CC's are fun to watch and participate in.

well, the game comes with a free month. looks like it's about 15 per month after that, so i don't think i'll be playing past this month.

on an even sadder note... it's going to take me another 5 hours and 34 minutes to update my damn city of heroes before i can even try it out. i wanted to play it now, not tomorrow night.

It only took me about 1 1/2 hours to update. It was kind of annoying but I was still able to play the same evening.

Been taking up some of my CAG time as well. I have tons and tons of characters on nearly every server, but mostly I play on Liberty. And yes the community is heads above SWG's community. They are generally far more easy going and fun to play with. PM if you want to know some of my characters names. I have plenty of very high level characters. Would love to play or start a CAG community on CoH.
