What a coincidence, I went to High School with an Andy Wang (and nearly the entire student body as well). But I never saw him getting made fun of, and I never gave him a second thought. Well, I always wondered why he was so dumb to get held back so many times. His was on so many senior mugs (including my own) but he stopped going involuntarily because you can't go to high school past a certain age, I believe.
