Just wondering if anyone pick up Serious Sam 2 for either PC or Xbox. Im thinking about picking it up but the reviews havent been the greatest and the demo wasnt that great either. It just seemed slower then the original. But if you did pick it up just looking for some quick impressions and of course the best deal on it

I haven't picked it up yet, but I plan to once a serious price drop happens. The first one was hella-fun, but the load times were ridiculous, and I couldn't get the system link to work for co-op.

6.9 / 10 at Gamespot.com.
Apparently it just suffers from sequilitis! :(
Too bad as this had some potential.

It is badass for the PC... it starts off kind of slow for the first few levels, but then it starts to really pick up and get intense. The graphics engine is beautiful if your PC can handle it, as well. Load times are non existant, and the variety in the enemies is something much appreciated. The game is alot more streamlined, as well.
Not sure what Gamespot's problem was with the game... they were overly hard on it, for some reason. Yes, it does suffer from being more of the same, but really, why fix something that really wasn't broken in the first place? The biggest change is that the levels don't feel so random, and there actually is some tiny semblance of a story, so you feel like you're actually accomplishing something.
Not to mention the levels are much more interactive this time around... jars and boxes blow up, trees and houses explode, the world actually feels a bit more alive this go around. The new enemies are awesome, some of these things are absolutely huge. You've got to love the new suicide bombers with the oversized heads
I threw down $30 on it on release day, it hasn't disappointed me yet, and it gives me something to play this week while waiting for Quake 4 / FEAR. Honestly, my final verdict is that it feels like a much more polished, more cohesive Serious Sam... if you loved the first two games, I think you'll get a kick out of this one. The IGN review is much better than Gamespot's one, as this guy really gets what Serious Sam is all about. They give it an 82%, if I remember right.
Not sure about the Xbox one, pretty funny that it's $10 more and it will probably be a worse version.
