I'm a recent engineering graduate but I can't find professional work. No one is hiring, and I've been looking for a year along the Northeast Corridor.

I am working currently as a temp engineer for a local power utility. It's not profesional pay, but I've been there two years now and at least I make a living wage. For the past six months my supervisor has been trying to get me hired startiing at a six figure salary, but I haven't heard word yet because it takes months for the company to even go from a submitted application to getting an interview.

But I know buddies who have graduated a year before me, and still haven't found work. That's two years without getting a good job. I ran into one buddy working at the gateway store just before it shut down. He was getting laid off.

But no one is hiring around here. And when a job opens up, there are twenty overqualified applicants. Competition is fierce.

But I am working on a P2P program idea. Even had a couple economists from Michigan State become interested in it. Hopefully if I can actually code this stuff I'll be saying, "I'm rich bitch!"

I am a structural/architectural engineer for an engineering consulting firm that does the engineering for a lot of hospitals and other big construction. I just started two weeks ago after sitting at home on my ass (but working part time) for almost a year since I graduated in June of 2003. Sitting on my ass was my choice though, I needed a vacation before I started a real job.

I am making good money now but working a lot of hours, so that just means more games buy less time to get deals. Hopefully I can keep my cheapass ways. Of course I am living in LA now so everything is also more expensive.

You have to be 16 to work at Gamestop, right? Anyone know what the initial pay is that they offer?
And also if I have a GameInformer card (10% discount) when I sign up do I get the additional 20/30% off?
Thanks. Gamestop's only 5 minutes away from my house so I want to work there. And if its around 7$ an hour that's fine.
This won't be for about another year though.. X_x
