the Brentwood games have changed also since the store is remodeled. they are in the back right next to the regular games. there was a Frontlines for 13.98 and I think wheelman was 20 bucks there. so many stores today I am getting forgetful... and to think I was actually out shopping for patio furnature at Lowe's because its 50% off lol

Picked up Shellshock 2 last night even though it didn't get the greatest reviews. Figured I could get my 1000 GS then get hopefully get at least $5 from GS. Thinking about going back for Wanted. I've been hoping to find it for $15 at a Target clearance but that extra $5... :D


EDIT: Wow...just went back to try to get Wanted and all 3 copies from last night were gone. Same with Rise of the Argonauts and Shellshock 2. Knew I should have picked it up last night.

There were a few but not as many as 360. I doubt there is much left for PS3 unless you want Rock Revolution for $2.50. Oh, I do remember seeing a few copies of Alone in the Dark Inferno for $10 after markdown. Don't remember anything else for PS3.

I did notice when I went back that Brentwood still had a few copies of :360: Virtua Tennis 2009 for $25 after the markdown. Oh yeah, Bridgeton Target had 1 copy of :ps3: Lord of the Rings Conquest for $14.98 as of around 9 PM last night. Didn't pick it up because I wasn't sure if it had trophies. :D

I imagine Brentwood just started it Tuesday or MAYBE Monday considering how fast stuff left the store. The guy that checked me out when I bought Shellshock and Wolfenstein said he would see orange stickers in his dreams so I can only wonder what I missed out on. The Blockbuster in Village Square is closing and they're doing an "everything must go" sale. Not much in the way of games...only a handful of pre-played games at only 15% off. They do have a ton of pre-viewed movies left which are now at 40% off. They were 30% off yesterday when I drove by so they may be discounted even further come the weekend.

I have a yellow lab and the less wires the better for me.. ask my guitar hero official microphone that is chewed in 2 pieces after a party.

I'd say the 50 Cent game is worth $15. I got it for that at Target and thought it was a pretty fun game.

They had a large stack, 12+ games by my guess, of SFIV for the 360, stickered at $27.98. There were some other items:

A couple copies of Wheelman for the 360 at $9.98
Terminator Salvation for the 360 at $34.98
Wanted for the 360 at $24.98
Patapon 2 at $13.98

Some random other PSP, PS3 and 360 games as well, though I didn't have time to take a look for more details. It's a bit of a mess, so it might be worth going out there and trying to get a handle on more of it.

Just picked up a copy of Valkyria Chronicles, it was marked $39.96 but rang up $19.96. This was at the Kirkwood Rd. Wal-Mart for you St. Louis CAGs; there looked to be 4 or 5 copies still left as of 1:30 pm.

Something to keep an eye on. Street Fighter 4 at the Targets in Florissant and Bridgeton are in the Clearance section at 27.XX, there was about 3 each at each store.

Also for PS3 owners there is 1 copy of Dead Space at Bridgeton for 7.48. One of my favorite and most underrated games of last year, few copies of Rainbow 6 Vegas for PS3 also at Bridgeton for 7.48

I got one deal, I have a friend with a Wii who never had any rock band/guitar hero things, and I found a Guitar Hero world tour guitar bundle at Bridgeton for 44.98, got curious and price checked it at the scanner and it rang up 22.18.

Might be worth a shot to PC these Clearance games. Might possibly have the wrong sticker price on them.

From what I was told by the Gamestop manager, the management at HWV/GC were told at 7 p.m. Thursday that the location would be permanently closed after they locked the doors that night and that everyone on staff was to report to work Friday for their final day and to get all the merchandise ready to ship to other stores.

I wonder what happened for all the people who had games/movies pre-ordered there?

From what I was told by the Gamestop manager, the management at HWV/GC were told at 7 p.m. Thursday that the location would be permanently closed after they locked the doors that night and that everyone on staff was to report to work Friday for their final day and to get all the merchandise ready to ship to other stores.

I wonder what happened for all the people who had games/movies pre-ordered there?Well, that completely sucks, since that was the only GC that was reasonably close to me.

My guess is that they'll transfer any pre-orders to the nearest store, though as I look at it (from my list of stores on my PDA), the only "close" stores would be South Grand or U City, and that's not really that close from Fenton at all.

The Kirkwood store on S. Lindbergh didn't have any copies, though they did check and said the Fenton store out at Gravois Bluffs did have three copies.

I swung by there on my way to work and they were correct in that they had three copies. There are two copies left, and they are shelf-tagged at $10, plus scanned at $10. They're in an open area next to the locked glass case, and they're in security cases, so you'll need to pay for them in the Electronics area.

Well, yesterday was my first Saturday off in 5 weeks, so I spent it garge sale-ing (yeah that's a word). Buying/ collecting NES & SNES games is a hobby of mine. Not one person had any. I asked and they looked at me like I was retarded!! I guess everyone is getting wise and putting thier NES games up on the internet?? I thought for sure some old lady cleaning out her basement would have a box of those, and not really know what they are....

Then all the stuff that wont sell or would cost to much to sell is put in the garage/yard sale. Old news here, but when TRU was doing the B2G1 free deal, NONE of them had Fallout 3 GOTY. Went to Brentwood Best Buy who PM"d it, even without an ad or print out. Had to get re-routed to customer service but it went through no problem.

Picked up the last rock band bundle at the fenton location this past thursday. Check other wal-marts around the area. Comes with rock band game and a 4gb pro duo memory stick. If you are coming from Illinois you can get off downtown and get on market and forest park parkway, it will take you right to Brentwood or 170 (whichever way you prefer) It gets a little congested during rush hour but its not bad at any other time of the day

I would go the same way Shrike mentioned - 270 N to 44 East to Laclede St. Road. Head north until you end up on Eager Rd. I would avoid the area at rush hour if possible, though. Traffic can get pretty stupid.

That's definitely a nice area (and Maplewood's pretty nice too), mostly businesses and shops, but things like that can happen anywhere. It's just important to be aware of your surroundings, no matter where you are.

But yeah, I don't think I'd call a shopping area that can sustain a Sansei and a Qdoba "ghetto." :)

I drive through those streets every day. Here is what I think: they are safe. I walk around in the middle of the night alone listening to an iPod several nights a week, and have for a couple of years now--seems like if it were a bad neighborhood, I'd be an awfully easy target. What you're essentially doing with your argument is propagating incorrect information, and implying that somehow your uninformed opinion is fact, and it's a foolish argument to start with--the neighborhood in question is wedged directly between Clayton and Brentwood, two of the more expensive, upper-class neighborhoods in St. Louis. What you're doing is about the same as the people who erroneously assumed Kirkwood was a bad neighborhood when the Shawn Devlin story broke, and that was way scarier than a couple of uneducated robbers getting maybe a couple hundred dollars from a video game store.

any deals out on 360 hard drives? I know Microcenter has refurbished ones for 89, but no xfer cable. My 20 filled to the brink 2 days ago. I cant see the point of buying a 60 for 100 and still having 2 buy a sfer cable of some sorts. The 250 GB are not sold individually, yet. If you buy the retail 120 GB one, it has the cable. Maybe wait for a deal on Amazon.

Does the 60GB not come with the cable? I know it has the headset but I figured it had the cable also. You can get the cable from MS but I think it costs like $15. There's also a thread in the 360 forum with people who trade the cable back and forth.

The thing is with the new 360 update a lot of the drives not certified by Microsoft won't work on the 360 now (can't put profile on there, etc.) I would be weary even of the refurbished ones from Microcenter unless they had some type of Microsoft official approval.

The ones you see on EBay are usually from Asia and have the MS HDD casing, but a custom HD without the MS certified partitions/files on the drives (can't play XBox 1 games on them, etc.)

Unfortunately you may just have to bite the bullet and buy it near full retail. I bought mine at Walmart the week they came out for $170. :)

I just got a 120gb off ebay that was supposed to be used, taken from an elite. Sadly, it doesn't work at all - not when directly attached, and not when hooked up through the transfer cable. It shipped from Ohio, has appropriate looking decals and engraved MS logo, but it's a doorstop. So please be cautious & careful!

Did you put the disc in the drive with the system on? It won't recognize that disc unless it's already in the tray when you boot the system.

On Major Nelson's podcast E said the transfer cable should work on the 250 GB systems. If it still doesn't work, maybe try emailing him e@xbox.com.

Went to Microcenter last night; no 1600 pt cards left, but they had a few 4000 pt cards for $40 and a TON of 3 Month Live cards for $10.

Forgot my golden rule to ask the employees to check their stock. They still had 1600 point cards for $13, they were just buried under the 100 3 month Live cards they had.

I bought a bunch for some of the Ragtag CAG's who were wanting points, but there were 5 1600 point cards left when I exited the store last night around 7.

The South County Best Buy has 3 copies of the 360 CE of SF IV @ $40 on clearance as of 5 p.m. 1 copy was on the rack in front of the video game section, while the other two were in their standard spot in the 360 section.

Also with the Blu-Ray of season 2 of the Sarah Connor Chronicles that is on sale this week for $30: they have 3 copies left as of 5 p.m. for the tin case version (retail BR case inside a larger steel case that was exclusive to BB.)

That version, however, does not scan as $30, it scanned @ $50. I pleaded my case it was supposed to be on sale for $30 and after looking over the ad to make sure it was the current ad the cashier changed the price so YMMV in getting the tin case version for $30.

Ran over to MicroCenter for the first time. Pretty impressive, all told. Game selection was good, though I didn't have a copy of the clearance list handy to check out what they had.

PC component pricing was a mix from fantastic to fugly. Nice to see that they had a board tracking some of their prices to Newegg.com.

Also wanted to toss something out to the St. Louis CAGs, before I toss it out to CAGs in general. I bought a MW2 Elite 250GB bundle, and will be parting out/selling off my existing Pro 20GB w/120GB HD. Since it seems like the 120GB drive is in demand, I'd offer it up to the St. Louis CAGs first. I should get the MW2 250GB Elite next Monday and hopefully the correct transfer cable/CD combination to copy the info from the 120GB drive to the 250GB drive. Assuming that goes without a hitch, I'll have a 120GB drive that would need to be sold on its own (w/its own transfer cable), or sell the whole console as is w/120GB drive and wireless adapter (which might get parted out as well), which is under MS extended warranty (not the 3RROD/E74 warranty, this is the MS extended warranty) until the end of next year.

Once I have everything worked out, I'll let everyone know and we'll go from there.

So, after taking forever to get my updated transfer kit from MS and having it take 8 hours to pull everything over from my full 120GB to the new 250GB, my 120GB is empty and available.

For the St. Louis CAGs, I'd sell it for $85 shipped via insured USPS shipment. It does include the original transfer cable and transfer SW disc, which AFAIK, only works 20GB to 120GB. If no one bites on it, I'll toss it out to the Trading Forum for $90.

Anyone here interested in it?

I don't know if people are interested but Rock Road Best Buy and I think Mid Rivers still had a few copies of Raiden IV special edition for 19.99. I grabbed one. It has a music soundtrack cd with it, I saw it at Gamestop also but it didn't say it came with the music cd.

This game is a blast. I haven't had this much mindless fun in a long time. Oh yeah It is hard as shit also. Probably I am just in my 30's now and my reflexes suck compared to my teenage arcade shooter days I would guess lol.

I am old I guess whenever I see co-op or the fact I have to manage more than one character it just doesn't interest me. I love resident Evil but when I had to manage that chicks ammo in the demo I just said screw it i don't want to play this at all.

How much do you control the other people? I like shooters like Bioshock and Dead Space where I just worry about me lol. I know it was only 20 bucks but If it pisses me off then I will just let it collect dust

I've found that BB on Manchester, the new one, can sometimes have items when other ones won't, since it's still newish and people don't know where it's at. Better than the one way out on Manchester in Ballwin, which was also a nice place to find items that other stores didn't because it was way the heck out of the way unless you live out there.

In combat, your squad will do their own thing but you can command them to use their powers. If they die you can revive them from your power menu. Out of combat, you have to give them the best armor and weapons you can and use their skill points to improve abilities. You can also let the game auto-spend their points if you don't want to mess with it. It's not nearly as troublesome as managing the idiotic Sheva from RE5. Mass Effect 2 makes things even simpler.

The Best Buy website is unreliable until after the actual street date. Guess "in stock" means "available for pre-order" because God of War 3 and Final Fantasy XII are also in stock according to the site. Anyway, I was at the Rock Rd. Most stores only got 4 copies or less of the Blu-Ray "Nut Up or Shut Up" version. Do NOT be surprised if the studio doesn't supply any more to Best Buy, as it wouldn't surprise me if this was a REALLY limited thing (like the "Hurt Locker" Blu-Ray Steelbooks).
