I missed the usual "limited to 10" ultra cheap new titles part as I got there late. I was going by to see when it was, and it just happened to be that night. But I still picked up a used FarCry for $10, some magazines and books, and some PC components that were buy one get, one free.

There's a new independent gaming store off 270 at the intersection of Big Bend and Doughterty Ferry called Game On. They have no handhelds, but have some stock of current gen games. However, they have a really good supply of PS3, 360, and Wii games. They also carry tabletop RPG books, miniatures, and CCG's.

I got Shenmue II and Crimson Skies used there for $10 combined the other day.

I know this is a bit of a drive for most in the STL area, but the Wentzville Walmart Supercenter (exit 208 off 70) has a bunch of PS2, XBOX, GBA and Gamecube games clearanced at $10.

Only one I can remember at the moment is Bomberman Max 2 Blue

So I was just checking out the CompUSA stores around here, and they seem to be approaching the point where it's worthwhile to check them out. Monitors and TVs are at 25% (I picked up their last 27" Olevia LCD HDTV for $370), video games are 25% off, Windows Vista is 40% (Office is 30%), and random other deals. Computers are still only 10% off, so nothing noteworthy there. This goes for all three stores in the area (Sunset Hills, Bridgeton, and Ballwin). I was given an estimate of the first week of May for the stores to close...

They carry video games (PS2, Cube, XBox, 360, PS3, Wii, and DS,) trading card games, pen-and-paper RPG's, miniatures, and comic books. They also have demo systems of PS3, 360, and Wii you can play (there is a charge.)

For anyone on the Illinois side, the new Gamestop out by Lowes and Walmart off Green Mount is having a B2G1 free sale right now. Have no clue how long it lasts, but i got stuff for free this morning.

This isn't the one by Target off Green Mount. Get off 64 and head past the Target shopping area down Green Mount. It is probably about 3 miles down the road. You will see the Lowes right off of Green Mount.

I goto the slackers in Glen Carbon/Edwardsville IL and some times the O'Fallen IL one. From what I was told they might close the one in Glen Carbon/edwardsville to make the walmart larger. I went in the other day to see if they had the evil dead books of the dead dvds. I can usually find hard to find things at them for less then what they would be on ebay. I saw a shit load of comics there though. So I don't know when they started to sell them. I would rather they kept selling Sega stuff then the comics.

If it's what I'm thinking of next to the tire store and Becky's carpet store then you are correct. That EB actually stayed open for about 1 year after the merger, then boom, it was gone on a Monday without any warning. It was the closest store to work and I always made my purchases there as I could get them during lunch. Bought my PSP (which I sold to someone in Feb.) on launch weekend there.

The manager at that EB got demoted I think to asst. manager at the Gamestop that you mentioned by Hollywood Video and was going through hundreds of receipts transfering pre-orders into that stores system since at the time EB/Gamestop systems were not compatible.

If any of you out there are looking for 60GB PS3's, I ran into a few of them at the Sam's Club on Lemay Ferry in South County. There looked like somewhere between 3-6 of them, listed as a "bundle" with Motorstorm for $549.99. Hardly a deal, of course, though it's the first place I've seen any 60GB PS3's in months.

They also had a few Xbox 360 Wireless wheel sets, the new one without the overheat issue, listed as a "Seasonal Item" (aka once they're gone, they're gone), for ~$86-$87. I picked one up, mainly since I think this is as cheap as it'll get for that wheel. This is the new one, which doesn't come with PGR3, though comes with the demo version of Forza 2.

Yea they had to move to Chesterfield Mall because they lost their lease because Wal-Mart is expanding in the Chesterfield Valley to become a Super Center. There were like 4-5 stores that were kicked out/moved east so Wal-Mart could expand.

What does GGC stand for? I'm not familar with it.

GGC= Gamer's Gift Card. It was a special gift certificate Best Buy had in their video game section that had on the back of it a $5 off coupon of any video game item that cost $20 or more. BB had these for a couple of years then discontinued them early last year.

In regards to Video Games Live, unless someone else has gotten tickets and not posted yet, I am the only CAG who has bought tickets.

Last night, there was a huge number (8+, if I remember right) of copies of Blue Dragon at the Sunset Hills TRU, the one by Hwy 44 & Lindbergh. They were towards the bottom of the dump bin, so you'll need to dig to find them.

There was at least one copy of Blazing Angels 2 there was well. Also, random other clearance TRU games, most of them in the dump bin on the floor. Some were off to the side in the locked case.

Same scenario for game placement in the South County TRU, though much less of good pickings.

Mid Rivers and South County Best Buy and the 2 STL Game Crazy locations left (Fenton and in the city) will be having midnight launches for Grand Theft Auto IV. Gamestop's I guess are a case-by-case basis but none of the stores I visit have any signs saying they're going to do that.

Slackers CDs and Games is about the only one that I know of. You might try the only one Vintage Vinyl we have in the STL area now. Before the one in GC closed they started to sell some games and movies. It wasn't much but they did seem to be like they were trying to become another Slackers.

All 7 CC's going out of business here in the STL area seem to be following the same mantra: currently having MOBILE accessories, cables, and furniture at 30% off, DVD/BR/CD at 20% off, and everything else at 10% off.

Fenton CC has been cleaned out of all systems except for 3 80GB PS3's. MS/Wii point cards and accessories were cleaned out, just a few 1 month Live, 3 month Live, and 800/1600 MS point cards left. All CE of games were remarked at $60 and the discount is applied from that, so CE now are at $54.

There were a TON of PSN $20/$50 cards left though so I'm hoping those last until they're 20 or 30% off also.

The Fenton Gamestop still has 1 PS3 CE of SF IV if you're looking for one, it was a transfer from another store. I also saw a CE of Halo Wars at the West County Mall EB Games, but that was 2 weeks ago.

The Fenton Gamecrazy really pissed me off on Black Friday and I refuse to go there anymore. I filed a MO Attorney General complaint against them and was awarded a $20 GC. I then went there to redeem it for a PSN card (was waiting for them to get 1600 MS point cards back in stock but needed the PSN card more) and it took them 1 hour and 7 calls to GC Tech Support to sell me the card.

I was one of their best customers from 2006-mid 2007, even got a friend to buy a 360 there. Now all I've bought there since Sept. 08 was Tales of Vesperia LE, 2 sets of PS3 triggers for $5 each (the ones that slide onto the L2/R2 buttons,) Burnout Paradise 360 ($20 and Gamestop was sold out of new and used copies,) and that $20 PSN card I got essentially for free. Compare that to the hundreds I've spent at the Fenton Gamestop and it's a blow to them.

Even though the GC pre-order item was much cooler for RE 5 (sandglobe vs. animation cell) I still went to Gamestop because they treat customers much better there. It's not the manager or the asst. (red hair, glasses,) but it's this fat kid (third key I guess?) they hired from CC in 2007 that is the a-typical game store jackass. See my blog list for what happened on Black Friday.

Then again, that's the norm for every GS I've ever been in. It's like their employees are too good to talk to the customers.

That sucks that GC gave you bad help. I will admit, we have had a lot of trouble with those PSN cards. But it sucks because I kinda take pride in the fact that I feel like GC has always given me better service than GS(see above) and I strive to give that to my customers in my store.
BTW, if you really want one of those sandglobes, we have boxes at my store, and if you are ever going to be in North County, send me a PM and come by the store and you can have one.

I'm glad the GS store down by me on Telegraph (Coppergate Square) takes good care of me on promo items and pre-orders. I've been giving them all of my business and only picking up other stuff as needed at other stores.

Since the GC down on Telegraph closed a couple of years ago, the only one nearby is the one in Fenton, and most of the times I've been in there, the employees are nothing but assuming know-it-all jackasses. Also why most of the time I don't go there when I'm looking for games and other items.

The Florissant GC is vaguely close to work, so I could swing by there to pick something up as needed. Good to know there's a CAG working there, so that's always a plus.

The Walmart at 44 & Lindbergh in Sunset Hills has a number of games at the front registers, all of them under a $10 sign.

Most of it is crap, though there's games for most systems. I think there were games for the PS2, PS3, Wii, 360, DS and PSP. No Xbox or GC stuff, I believe. Only highlights I can think off off-hand was Okami for the Wii and UT3 for the 360.

It's not even close to organized, so you'd have to dig through and figure out what's good and what's not. I was there on Saturday, so no idea what might still be there.

good luck trying to get to it unless it is during the day. That place is packed and is usually standing only on friday and saturday night. Also it is not as great as everyone makes it out to be. The beer is cold but not the coldest and every time I went the burgers were always under cooked. In what little light that was there I could still see some red in the meat. Now that they have Guitar Hero Arcade there I don't think you will be able to even get close to that thing. Atleast it will free up a table. Well maybe.

If anyone is interested, the Chesterfield BB still has 3 copies of the 360 SF4 CE and 3 copies of the PS3 RE5 CE. Both are still marked at full price though. BB is also having a massive (for them) Blu-Ray sale with about 30 or so Blu-Rays on sale for $15 until July 4.

Also beware of the PS3 RE5 CE's as the outer boxes have been mangled because of the anti-theft sensor wrapped around it.

They also still have some Smackdown vs. Raw 09 PS3 CE's though for $50, but unless you want the Blu-Ray you're better off getting the regular version at Target for $30.

Few things of note:

SoCo BB on S. Lindbergh had LOADS of penny guides, most everything save MGS4 LE, including SSBB.

SoCo TRU on S. Lindbergh has a Singstar Vol 2 bundle, and supposedly has "loads of bundles in the back" of Buzz. RZone rep didn't know the bundles had dropped. They had one in the glass case, though I picked it up. Stickers in the case for the bundles are the normal $59.99 price, but the hang tag in the PS3 section for Buzz shows the right price, though it might be for the game.

Sunset Hills TRU on S. Lindbergh had one Singstar Vol 2 bundle, though no Buzz bundles.

Since I picked up the Buzz bundles at TRU, I'm returning my Walmart bundle back to the Manchester store in Town & Country / Des Peres tomorrow, so if you can't find it at Sears or TRU, check at that Walmart after mid-evening tomorrow.

I had no luck in North County. Went in to TRU to get Singstar and the last two bundles of Singstar 1 and 2(2 bundles each) were on HOLD for someone. I was pissed. I had no luck in North County. Went in to TRU to get Singstar and the last two bundles of Singstar 1 and 2(2 bundles each) were on HOLD for someone. I was pissed. I could have gotten Singstar 2 game only for $9.98, but I would have no mics since someone had 8 of them on hold in his bundles. Pissed me off.That's more than a little ridiculous to have that many bundles on-hold.

Few things of note:

SoCo BB on S. Lindbergh had LOADS of penny guides, most everything save MGS4 LE, including SSBB.

SoCo TRU on S. Lindbergh has a Singstar Vol 2 bundle, and supposedly has "loads of bundles in the back" of Buzz. RZone rep didn't know the bundles had dropped. They had one in the glass case, though I picked it up. Stickers in the case for the bundles are the normal $59.99 price, but the hang tag in the PS3 section for Buzz shows the right price, though it might be for the game.

Hadn't had time this week to go shopping for clearance stuff until today. The BB in South County must be dropping strategy guides completely as almost all of them were 20% off. Only penny ones left were 2 Gears 2 LE guides and I bought both of those.

South County TRU was sold out of Buzz. I was told there were only 4 bundles total when the price dropped. They had a Singstar 1 bundle left and that was it. Makes me feel real stupid for buying that for $35 at CC liquidation when it could have been had for $10.

Went to the Chesterfield BB and TRU on Friday night (I was working there Friday afternoon) and there were no penny guides at BB, and Chesterfield sold out of Buzz earlier in the week. There was 1 Singstar 1 PS3 bundle left there also.

South County Target just had HAWX @ $41.98 on their clearance section, which I'm hoping will drop soon.

South County Best Buy has a number of games tagged with green dots and red dots. Red dot games are 20% off their price in the register, and green dot games are 10% off their price in the register. I took a quick look at it last night when I was there, though it looks like mostly crap from what I remember. Worth taking a look if you're going there anyway.

Came back from the Arnold Target, and picked up a copy of FEAR 2 @ $12.48. There was another copy left, as well as the single copy of Riddick @ $41.98 and numerous copies of HAWX @ $41.98, plus some other random games.

And yes, it's in the back row of the DVD section, and in fact, a couple of employees didn't know where it was. I think it was moved there because there was a Sony TV in the Clearance section where I'm sure the games would normally be at.

The South County store on Rusty Road is my "normal" Target, and their clearance stuff tends to suck pretty badly. Best I found was Last Remnant at $12.48 on a random visit, and the rest hasn't been that great.

The Arnold store isn't too far away, though not the one I'd run to normally. The Gravois Bluffs / Fenton store is the other "normal" one I'd go to, and they have OK clearance stuff, though not that great.

I certainly don't find anything like other people find, though it may be because other people hit it long before I can make it out there.

Though, again, thank you for letting me know about FEAR 2 in Arnold. Greatly appreciated. :applause:

Yes thanks also for the Arnold heads up, I just drove there from Hazelwood and got a copy of Fear 2 for 12.48. They had 1 left there along with one prince of Persia for the same price and about 10 guitar hero world tours for PS3 for 15 bucks. It was confusing to find them here, they are right by the DVD's like near the childrens books aisle.

Coming from the other end of the world that was a tough store to find. I drove by it once no seeing it down in the valley. It was worth it though grabbed a nice churro from costco for the drive back

Also I picked up Dead Space for 19.99 at Game Crazy on West Florissant up this way. they had lots of copies left. Might want to call the store to make sure they have one before you drive 20 miles though. I cant wait to play it.

I played Dead Space for about 5 hours today after I got home and I have to say I am loving this game. So creepy and It scared me a few times in the way the first Resident Evil did. It just fell under my radar since It came out when I was playing Fallout 3 and the Guitar games.

I am wishing I had bought it a long time ago. At 19.99 the very few things that annoy me I can totally overlook. I would say this game is worth 60 dollars.

I went to the Rock Road 3 times (closest to me), Fifth St. in St. Charles 3 times and both Loughborough and Chippewa in the city once each. Ended up with 15 games so I didn't do too badly. The manager at Fifth St. said he was getting a restock but when I went out there Friday night, they had a bunch of cheap new games where the used games were the day before. The used games were on the other side of the rack and there was nothing new. Loughborough had some ok stuff left but I don't know if it's worth a drive from Florissant.

My case has a few dings on the back but nothing major. The game still plays perfectly. Anyway, it's a pretty fun game for $15 even though I strongly dislike rap music. Thankfully you can turn off the songs and just have instrumental beats play for the background music. I do have to agree with IGN about the worst attack chopper sound effects of all time. I don't think I've heard a more ear grating sound in a game.

Also, I believe Legends of Wrestlemania and Bionic Commando are due for clearance soon. Their labels in the glass case now have an NCF on them which usually means clearance.

I did some searching today, I cannot remember everything I found but I grabbed the only copy of Riddick for 14.98 at Bridgeton. Brentwood had the usual HAWX and Sonic, Chesterfield Valley had a Mass Effect platinum hits for 1398 and a PGR4 for 13.98.

The Valley Best Buy has a managers thing where these Blue Dot Games are 50% off. Not that there was anything amazing but there was 3 copies of street fighter 4 (360) that would be 40 bucks after the discount and one copy of RE 5 collectors edition with a blue sticker.(no price on it, guessing 79.99)I don't have a PS3 anymore so I am not sure if the other games were really worth it or not. lots of PS2 and Wii games also. If you are out there you might want to check it out, nothing that interested me on 360, trying to think it was mostly things like condemed 2 and a tennis game and Jericho.
