I checked it out the other day, it looks VERY nice. It blows away the Best Buy, CompUSA, and Walmart that are near it. It's a huge store, and they had a ton of video games, a better selection than anything else in the area IMO. Hopefully it'll stay that nice, but Oxnard can be pretty ghetto, and once the general public starts going there, I'm sure it will be destroyed.

The sale won't only be at the new Oxnhard Fry's but at the Burbank, Fountain Valley, Woodland Hills, Manhattan Beach, Anaheim, and City of Industry Fry's as well. The prizes that will be given away; Grand prize is a 2005 Ford Escape Hybird, 1st prize winner will win a 60" Grand Wega SRXD Rear Projection HDTV, and the 2nd prize winner wins a trip for 2 to Hawaii.
What's on sale?
The ad in today's paper just says "Ultra Low, Low, Low Prices on Tens of Thousands of Electronic Items." It also says to "Look for Page After Page of Great Savings in Tomorrow's LA Times." So check out tomorrow's LA Times to see the prices I guess.

There was no theme that I noticed.... it was my first time going to a Fry's, and I had previously heard they had themes, but honestly I didn't notice anything.

I'll be checking this out at 2-2:30...Maybe I'll find a decent deal.
I'll report back if there is a theme (Which I heard there was, and they were keeping it a secret till the Grand Opening).

I don't know about the other themed stores, but you cant really keep a sunken aztec temple building a secret unless they put a giant circus tent over it. You can tell from the outside what the theme is for the one near me.
I'm curious if the camelot and other ones are like castle buildings? Or do they just spruce up the inside to go with the theme?

Fry's corporate decided it was too time consuming to come up with new themes for various stores. They stopped doing themes a while back.

The Oxnard store is really nice inside. It reminded me of a roman style of architechture, with the columns in the middle surrounding the cafe and the sweeping arcs with pictures inside them. It wasn't an overwhelming theme (no giant statues or anything), but the feel was there.
5 bucks says it's covered in graffiti in 1 week.

How is Frys for deals on older games? I know you can usually get this week's new release games for $37-$40, but what about older titles. Can anyone post a few examples of any deals they've gotten on non new release games, is Frys generally better for bargains than Best Buy/Circuit City, etc?

Fry's is about $5-12 cheaper then Eb/BB/GS. I allways go to Fry's first for a game then Eb/BB/GS etc.
