most people in fort wayne has told that place they can stick their games up their #$#$#. they sell people bootleg games and then when you try to return them, they try to say your passing your bootlegs to mcvans.

im glad to see them sitting on 1,000s of ps1 and older games they cant sell .

funny thing is 90% of their selling prices of USED stuff is more then you can run out and buy the games new.

YEa give me that new super mario game for 35 even though i can get it for 30 at walmart LOL

they want 9 bucks per trade per DS game. They just suck. and it proves the suck. walk into a mcvans today and see how few of NEWER trades they have. 5 years back i would walk in and see at least 20 games on the top level in trading. I walked in last week and they only had 1 new ps2 game up for trades.

90% of their stock is blue dot or lower and they still cant trade the junk off.

o by the way did i say MCVANS SUCKS
I agree. Back in the PS1/N64, early Dreamcast days and before, I use to go to McVan's all the time. Previously, games couldn't be bought for less than $10 at EB or Gamestop, or it rarely occurred. Also, many games didn't drop price as often. So, spending $5-$9 on a trade use to seem like a great deal. Although I admit their price on new games was a joke, still is, but I just bought them else where. I use to almost always be able to find the games I want, at one of their locations. Although I haven't been there in around a year, the selection now SUCKS where you can't find any good game to trade to get, especially at the higher levels. Yeah, most of their games are blue dot, green dot, etc. The worst part is, they charge $7 to trade for it, when most of those games only cost that amount at EB/Gamestop, and I don't lose a game for it. I really hope they go out of business, because ever since Rob left, that place now SUCKS.

i knew one of the workers a few years back and they said "if they ever have a bad christmas season they would be #$#$#$#'

i guess 70% of all the money they make comes from Nov 1 to Jan 15

Not that I have an interest in overtly defending a seemingly bad company, but their prices on new games, while out of line for what you could get at big-box retail isnt uncommon for smaller venues that still try to sell new games. The smaller companies arent able to get the good deal on price that a place like Wal-Mart can. I dont understand why they try, when its clearly not their strength.

All complaints being fair, I still give them a look for older items since I can leave McVans with game in hand and not have to mess with eBay. I am not aware of anyplace else in Indianapolis with that scope.

In Lafayette, IN, there's a used game store called GameXchange. Some of their PS1 game prices might be high, but the majority of their games are really well priced. Most SNES games can be purchased for $6, while Turbo 16 Grafx games are just $1-$2. That store only sells used games, except maybe some new import games.

There's also Game Crazy for used games. They may not carry every console/handheld game there is, but they carry the more popular ones in the past, and have their games for good price, especially when compared to McVan's.

you must have a good mcvans in your area then. here locally the workers look at the prices on ebay and that is how they price their rare games.

they had shadow hearts for 16 bucks for the longest time till a worker saw that they used to fetch 50 each. so they pulled every copy and sold them under a workers ebay account.. that is why you cant find shadow hearts anymore at mcvans

What's wrong with a store selling stock on Ebay that's collecting dust in the store, especially if they can get more money for it?

I know at our comic book shops we have statues collect dust that don't even sell during our big annual sales when they're 25-50% off. I'll pop them on Ebay and get 2-3 times retail for them if they're a few years old and rare. Kind of makes me wonder why none of our customers ever buy up some of our statues just to resell. We had $100 retail statue forever that was going for $500 on Ebay...but no one in Indianapolis wanted it for $100.

If I see a $50 video game at Blockbuster for $10, I'm gonna buy it and trade it here or Ebay it.

the deal is try take everything people trade in that is worth anything and sell it on ebay then put it in their stores and allow other people to trade it off.

personally i dont see why anyone sells games to them. Top level game they will sell it for 38 but only give you 10-12 bucks for it even if it came out yesterday

A little off topic. Any of you local guys looking for a PocketPC?
I got a new one, and need to trade off my old one. I'd trade it for an old Xbox if it's in good shape, or other gaming stuff. Let me know.

It's an Axim X5, 300mhz 64mb onboard with CF and SD slots.

Have you guys ever considered having an Indiana CAG meetup/swap meet?
I wonder if we have enough people to merit it.

@arbiter - I wonder that as well... I think Evansville would be a great place to have a tri-state (KY, IN, IL) CAG meet-and-greet-and-hopefully-trade, hint hint.
Either that, or a well-coordinated raid on every used game store in E'ville.

Nahhh someplace in fort wayne would rock more. We could get people from Indiana, Michigain, Illi, and ohio since we are smack in the middle.

i know over at IPFW the libary is always open and would be a wonderful place to meet up since noone ever uses the 3rd floor : )

doubt it would work though. I think i have only seen 1 or 2 other cag people around the fort wayne area

I vote for the Fort as well. :)
I wonder if we could get a reservation or private room at a restraunt and start the pillaging from there.

Do you need a student to reserve space at IPFW?
We did a Meetup at BSU once and we just had to have a student group request the space for us.

A long time ago some friends and I pondered doing something local in Muncie where a group of gamers met every couple of months to swap used games.

Jefferson Point or Glenbrook would be good launch locations. Both have food, and an EB & Best Buy nearby.

if you use the libarary anyone can walk in (they really dont card you) to use a Room in walb you will need a student Id. Im not sure how hard it is to get the room... I doubt you will want the BALLROOM cause if that is the room you do want expect to meet people in 2008 (since that is how far in advance its booked)

I used to do room meetings for a drama club my cousin was in and its simple to book a smaller room. I dont know if you will be allow to do it at the mall cause it would be hurting Eb business and im not sure if your allow to do business inside the mall like that

I wouldn't be surprised if slidecage has seen me before, but didn't know it. ;)

Ft. Wayne sucks. Indianapolis is a Gamer mecca...we have 20 or 30 Gamerush/Blockbuster stores, about the same number of Gamestop/EB stores, 3 Game Crazy stores, 3 Circuit Cities, 5 Best Buys (I think), several K-Marts, tons of Targets, and quite a few mom and pop game stores. You could easily spend a whole weekend driving around the 465 loop and spending just 10-15 minutes at each store. I do it a couple times a year. This would be a great city for a video game convention/swap meet.

If the purpose is to buy, sell, & trade, I say with Fort Wayne. If you want to run around all day going into different store Indy is fine. I vote for Fort Wayne, I have a basement full of misc. games and Video Game swag. Going from Atari 2600 to Commodore 64 to Phillips CD-i to XBOX 360.

I do agree that for game shopping, FT. Wayne does suck. I do think it would be a good place for a swap meet. I would love for the chance to meet some other cag's and clean out some of my stuff.

BTW, do you guys know if there are any real arcades left in fort wayne?

There's Putt Putt and Tokens & Tickets. T&T is more of a kids place...but you can actually find nights when there are no scrawny hyperactive kids hogging the DDR machine. :) (no offense to the scrawny people in the crowd)
Seriously...I think some of those guys live on that machine...they never stop for air or food.

Um...I think Putt Putt & Ultrazone both have LAN party rooms.
There's also the Fort LAN place...I think Alpha Computer Systems owns it.

I was at the Lima Rd. EB yesterday, lots of games for less than $9 in the bins. I think they got more old stock dumped on them from corperate when they opened. They seem to have more low priced Gamecube stuff than the JP location.

I picked up Power Drome racing for my kid for $1.49.

i've counted 5 at least or so fort wayners and I would make 6. Probably more that I can't think of and some lurkers or course. I saw a man and lady probably in the 35-45 age range durning the 5 dollar CC sale. I never happened to see them identified on here though. Anyways

That should be enough for a decent start, who knows maybe we'll pull some from Michigan, Ohio or even Indy. If its just Fort Wayners I'd say just meet in a park or parking lot somewhere in the middle of the fort that way there would be no one to bug or complain about where were meeting. Otherwise a larger known place easier to find for out of towners.

I would suggest that we plan for just fort wayners to start and adjust from there if it others plan on coming. Franke Park by the Zoo sounds good. Fairly easy to find and quite open. Whatcha all think ¿?

I'm not sure if you saw me during the $5 CC, floormat, because I was there just after it opened. I was a short black guy (short hair), and looked around the age in the 20's.

I still wonder who that person was, while I was at CC (who had glasses), who had a list from CAG, looking around CC. That same person showed the list to a lady who worked at CC at the time. I remember taking a look at the list myself.

floormat
06-24-2006, 11:34 PM
nah it wasn't you then. I was there on that sunday about 1:30 pm. I seen what seemed to be a middle aged white couple with a CAG list. I met slidcage at a apple glen best buy once. He's the only self identified CAG I have met.

The Mana Knight

I wonder if it's LoganDX, because he use to post here at the time and he was married (I believe he is, since I remember him having a kid). However, I remember his old signature was saying death to all people who bought most every game during the CC sale (even if they don't care about it), so he might have been late. I'm going to continue thinking about it.

I really wouldn't be surprised if I've run into slidecage before, but we probably never knew it if we did.

Also, I went to a CC in Merrillville, IN, the day the sale was suppose to start (since I checked that CC too) and saw another person with a list, who I talked to for a bit, but I never found out if he posted here.

Yeah, the park could work...we should pick one that has covered pavillions.
The library will sign out rooms to local non-profit groups on first come first served basis. I'm sure if we approach it as a video game / dvd / book swap group they'd be ok with it...as long as we don't sell anything. We might have to avoid using "cheapass" when signing out the facilities. I'm thinking this might be a good idea for the foul weather months.

I wonder if any local coffeeshop would be willing to host? You guys been to the Dragon Keep Cafe in Waynedale?

Wow, where are all the Indianapolis CAGers? Seems like everyone is from Ft. Wayne, which going by population, doesn't make sense.

Anyone in Indy hitting up the GR/BB stores around town? I've been to 3 here on the west side and found pretty much everything I wanted except for maybe 3 or 4 games which SHOULD be easy to find...like Punisher for $5. I'm probably going to hit up a few stores in Greenwood tomorrow since I'll be down that way. Probably hit up Castleton whenever I'm up there next (might be a month or so). Doubt if there will be anything left but I like driving around to the GR stores to see what used stuff they have anyway (especially when I have trade credit to burn).

I mentioned New SMB to the employee at the GR near me today and he pulled a copy out of the drawer along with a DS Lite. He was holding them for himself, the cheeky bastard. I already found a Lite at a Greenwood GR a couple weeks ago so it's all good...but I drove to like 10 stores looking for NSMB so I could buy it with credit instead of cash. Why the stores in Indy all got like 10 copies each of Super Princess Peach and 1 copy of NSMB, I have no idea.

I trade in games to regular Blockbusters all the time...I don't think they take GBA/DS games or systems though for some reason. They also don't sell DS games new. It seems like a system that would be their best seller considering it's aimed at all ages and the games are cheap enough for impulse purchases. Who understands Blockbuster's business practices though?

what is sort of stupid is they Rent Xbox 360 games Yet no Ds games. I would say there are many more people with DS games then 360s. One manager also told me they will stop carrying PSP games very shortly (they will still have the old ones BUt they will no longer get new games for it)

stores i hit

maplecrest -- was told i was only 1 out of a handful that rents PSP games
Dupont- was told i was about the only person who rents PSP game
COldwater_-- hasnt had a new PSP game in a long long time i never rent there

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that these are the smaller games in the current generation. Just a thought. Thus making them far easier to lose than 360 games.

i talked to a few managers at blockbusters and they told me.. Fort wayne will never have a Gamerush. The market is overcrowed and the nearest one you will find is Indy. That sounds about right. I heard from Target's manager that Fort Wayne will never see a Super Target, due to the same situation.
what is sort of stupid is they Rent Xbox 360 games Yet no Ds games.

COldwater_-- hasnt had a new PSP game in a long long time i never rent thereWell, it doesn't surprise me because Blockbuster didn't rent GBA games anymore. There could be some issue with them and Nintendo, being catridge based, or I dunno. Actually, I do see Xbox 360 games rented all the time, but I'm talking about the one on Jefferson.

Hmm, the Blockbuster on Jefferson, the only one I go to, still gets in brand new PSP games (They got Field Commander and Lemmings in). I'll admit they aren't rented anywhere near as much as all other platforms, but I see them getting checked out. I've rented a bunch there. Although I know the manager there, I haven't talked to him. I remember one of the managers there was Rob at one time, who use to be one of the managers at McVan's (who had the dreadlocks, but cut them off when working at Blockbuster).

Well, I actually got there at 10am, but I kept figuring CC opened at 11am, so I did other things. I went to CC at 10:30am and saw they opened at 10am. Well, I went there and didn't see much. The only game I wanted, that I saw, was NFS Underground: Rivals, for PSP. I would like Exit for PSP, but not sure if I would have found it in Fort Wayne either.

Sword of Mana
Sigma Star Saga
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
HL2 (xbox)
Wild arms 4

Have you guys checked out Atomic Comics & Games on Coliseum?
(they a little past PB Sports (and K's merch) on the north side of the street.
Looks like they've got a little selection. Some older consoles. I saw a Dreamcast, N64, and Xbox in the case, a few PSP and Xbox titles.

It costs something like $8-9 to rent a video game at Blockbuster here. I rarely pay more than $10 for a video game for any system thanks to this site and garage sales. Makes more sense for me just to buy. I usually make a profit when I get rid of my games due to my bargain hunting. I'll make some exceptions...like I'll pay $30 for a game like Phoenix Wright if I know I can pop it on Ebay after I play it and break even or make a profit.

For anyone in Indianapolis, across from the greenwood park mall, next to the Gamerush, there's a Radioshack that's closing and has some really really cheap deals. I just got this headset for my phone for $3 and it's originally $30. They were also giving away $10 off next purchase greater than $20 coupons.

Anyone here heard of Xscape in Ft Wayne? I guess it's in Georgetown near the bowling alley. It's a gaming cafe, I guess it's like $5 an hour to get access to an xbox.

Here's an article
http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/journalgazette/14423120.htm

A friend of mine has been frequenting there with his son, and suggested contacting them about a FW CAG meetup. I guess they've been hosting tournaments so they may be open to events as long as it results in some traffic for them.

Has anyone went to Sears, in the Glenbrook Mall lately? I was just there earlier today, and I found tons of games in the glass case, marked 50% off. I saw a lot of great DS and PSP games 50% off, like Advance Wars DS, Meteos, Ape Escape On the Loose, Lord of the Rings Tactics, and many others. Too bad, I didn't have a lot of money to take advantage of it.

If a CAG member snaps up the $14.97 copy of Meteos (there's only two), I'll hunt them down.;) I'm hoping to get it, but I have a feeling it will be gone. :(

Also, I wanted to post about Target on Glenbrook. Did anyone see a sign in front of the store's door, saying their closing on July 26th or 27th, and won't reopen again until October 2006 (since they are moving to the new one). That kind of sucks IMO, since the Maplecrest Target is pretty far away from me (I live around I-69 and U.S. 24 area). Well, the good news is that Glenbrook will finally have a good Target, because ever since I went to a few Super Target's and other newer Target's, I realized the one at Glenbrook has a very crappy game selection (Most have 2X area dedicated to games).

I wish they had GG X2 here in fort wayne. By the way, how much are the xbox dvd remotes over at the Lafayette TRU? They're still $24 here.

For the Fort Wayne CAG's, I hid what I think is the last SOTC at CC behind some spongebob game, I think. I thought I'd let you know if you were wanting to price match once the GH price hits. If it's still there, I don't know. I picked up one of the last copies from the northcrest BB since I have a gift card there. I've been wanting this game for a long time.

Lol, I do that all the time with games, so it's understandable. I'll probably be able to find the game, without the GH label anyway (I normally have good luck in doing that).

There are garage sales going on all the time around the area I live, but I don't go to them. I admit, I feel a bit curious as to what may be at them, but I'd feel a little weird checking every one, for gaming related stuff.

Hey guys Long time Angola Indiana resident but just moved to Texas 2 months ago but my parents still live in Angola.

I don't know why all the hate for McVans, I have been going there since 1994/95 over at Maplecrest when they were above books comics & things

I don't know if you all know Chad who works mainly out at Parkwest, I have known him and Chris since ages back.

I never buy newer stuff, I always take my newer stuff I find at the Pawn Shops around or my extra stuff I find cheap and trade in.
Chad always hooked me up with more than fair trade values.

Right before I moved here I traded in a bunch of Gamecube games and got their Panzer Dragoon Saga that was complete and mint at Parkwest along with Dragon Force.
Heck he gave me $20 credit for each of the Mario Party games on GC, Mario Kart on Gamecube, and some other stuff like that.

I got all them at pawn shops for $6 each and ended up not paying anything for Panzer Saga and Dragon Force.

I can't remember how many other rare HTF games I have gotten like Suikoden II, Valkyrie Profile, Tactics Ogre, Dragon Warrior II, III, and IV all complete about 5 years ago for $30 each (actually traded crappy ps1/early ps2 games in for them)

I guess it is just if you know someone, I am not too keen of the guy at Washignton Square (oriental guy) he isn't too nice to deal with but Chad and Chris always hooked me up with some really good stuff that they had in back.

Thanks
Jeff

i dont know how you got a panzer dragoon saga fom them 2 month ago since it been years since they cleared all the saturn stock out Years ago . i remember rob was sitting on the floor tossing all the junk games to one side and another pile for ebay.

i dont know if you dealt with someone who likes to rip off the company but those 3 rpg games your talking about Never sold for less then 38 bucks and they never give FAIR trade vaules.

they would of never taken in crapy ps1 games and gave you one of those major RPG titles Since 1995 they started a RPG FOR RPG TRade only. unless you traded in 30 to 40 games for 1 then you got major screwed *unless the worker their screwed the owner and overrode the sale*

why does everyone hate them

1. cause most the people working their think they are better then everyone
2. the owner now think he is the best thing that ever happen to this town
3. they are con artist (i picked up 3 bootleg games in the past 18 months

4 the screw you on trade ins (if you dont give them a game they want they will never trade you a game that you want) I had a pinball game years ago they needed backly and i was told that " IF I didnt trade that in i can forget about ever trading again

5. they lie to your face. i was in there last year and asked about a game and they said top level. I leave and come back an hour later and the game some how falls from top level to 4th and are offered 8 bucks for it (#$#$# THEM)

6. 9 buck trade fees for DS games

7 selling top level games for 38 bucks used when they go for 20 new LOL

i hope you didnt tell the people you got the games from a pawn shop cause if the owner overheard you he will ban you from the store (did this to 2 friends)

As for Chad, yeah, I remember the guy (The only decent guy that worked there). He use to let me do things that most others wouldn't (would also knock off $2 for games not having box and instructions). But, the last time I saw him was just when McVan's started to have their downfall. Seriouly, their trade in values suck, where the majority of prices they charge on them, I can buy a used game for that price, or better at EB, without losing a game.

I can understand the attitude toward McVans. I hardly go there. The last thing I bought from them was a genesis a/v cable. The prices on some accessories aren't that bad. I don't usually buy anything else because of the prices. I'm partly spoiled by garage sale prices for games. Sometimes I do like to go in and just look at stuff. I think the maplecrest store has a turbographx. That's the only one I've ever seen.

I do have a Turbo Grafx, that I got from McVan's (back in 1998), when it was $25. The bad thing was, my first one broke in 30 days, to McVan's had to give me their other they had (which was the last). It still works now, but getting a clear picture can be tricky at times. I don't have a good picture of my Turbo 16 Grafx, since it's in a black entertainment center in my pics, but you can see my games here (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v352/SamuraiT/gaming/).

I went to Parkwest end of April and got the Panzer Saga they had there.
They had $140 on it which is pretty much ebay rate.

Most other guys there wouldn't let you trade stuff but Chad is cool.

I traded following:
Mario Party 4 $20
Mario Party 5 $20
Mario Party 6 $20
Mario Kart DD $20
Suikoden Tactics $20
Mario Party N64 cart only $12
Baseball Stars cart only Nes $8
Tecmo Super Bowl cart only NES $8
Contra III cart only $8

So that gave me $136 credit towards PDS so I paid $4.28 after tax I think since tax isn't charged on trade in value of the sold game.
No one online would trade a PDS for those games.

The Dragon Force I got was at Parkwest too but it was probably around February when I picked it up. They had $75 on it but again I traded newer stuff. On the $38 games they have, they would give you $20 trade-in on them, so in most cases that is a decent deal.

It sucks that I missed out on a boxed Dracula X they had in the back at Parkwest, Chad sold it for $45 a week before I got back there to trade for it.
So sometimes their pricing isn't that bad. They did jack up alot of their PS1 stuff right before I left, they had Xenogears for $40 GH new, and some stuff like that but they also didn't know some of the stuff they had.

I bought 2 Factory Sealed new copies of Math Blaster for SNES which is an R6 rarity. Actually I traded new crap for them. They had them for $26 each.

I sold 1 for $100 on ebay and another for $80 on ebay. That was probably within the last 6 months also before I moved.

I lived in Angola so I would only go down there once a month.

Trade In Fees are bogus I will give you that much. Back in the day alot of the guys since I got a lot of stuff there would give me 1/2 price trade fees but I think that got cracked down on.

I am going home over Thanksgiving so I will have to make my road trip down there to see if it has taken more of a turn for the worse. I don't like going to the Washington Store at all. Georgetown has a great selection of older stuff though, and Parkwest I get all the deals at, so for me 2 of 3 isn't bad, but 1 of them does suck and I will agree with you guys on that one.

The target over by glenbrook is closing tomorrow. I went there today and picked up some clearance stuff. Anything with a clearance tag gets an extra 75% off. I passed on a 3 month live box for the 360. I think there were four or five left this morning. I picked up

geist
ps2 logitech usb headset
ps2 slim vertical stand

for $12.90

There wasn't too much left.

Well it seems all the blockbuster in fort wayne will stop carrying PSP games very soon. they have started to pull down 50% of all the games and are selling them (at insane prices)

one person i talked to say they will pull all PSP game games as soon as the WII and PS 3 come out. Seems going to be forced to go back to gamefly for psp games

Arcade warehouse sale. Pinballs & jukeboxes, arcade video games, cash & carry discounts, Wagner gameworks 317-326-3533.

I just thought some of you might be interested. I'd like to look, but I don't have the room for an arcade cabinet. It also looks like it is near Indy, too far for me to go. I

love to grab those 2 psp gamesI was there again today at Sears, and Namco Museum Battle was still there. Target has two copies of SFA3 Max left.

I'm tempted to buy SSX. Although I know it's not as good as the console versions, that price is tempting and I kind of feel like playing a snowboarding game right now. I still need to pick up Ultimate Block Party one day, at Sears.

I might travel this weekend of next, to stores in other cities in Indiana or Illinois. If I do, I'll report anything I see.

I may be heading to McVans to buy one tomorrow. They seem to have the best deal in town. $99 + a yellow dot game and a 90 day warranty.

I noticed there was no more SSX left, at Sears. There wasn't much there, when I went today.

As for arbiter's comment about the Xbox, I've considered not keeping mine; however, I have kind of a big collection to take on. Also, I may just keep my Xbox, although it doesn't always work (another reason I probably won't sell it), since 20% or less of my games are BC with X360, which I plan to eventually get.

Back to the topic of a Fort Wayne CAG meetup.
My son & I went and checked out XScape today. The owner said he'd be happy to host a CAG meetup/swap meet. We just need to set a weekend and check with him to make sure there isn't a Halo tournament that weekend.

It's a cool place. He has a dozen or so booths with a mid-sized TV with an Xbox attached. They're all networked. (2 stations have Live) It's $5 an hour per person. The owner told us that if you tell him it's your first visit, he'll give you 2 hours for the price of one. They also have two HD tv rigs...today one was running Halo2, the other was DDR.

They have a coffee shop area out front...snacks, pies, coffee, and soft drinks. There's a TV & air hockey for the non-gamers.

Your best deal is still EB Games for an XBOX system. $110 for a USED system, which actually has a 30-day warranty included. You can also add an NO-questions asked 1-year warranty for an additional $19.99! Also if you looking for a GREEN Halo Limited Edition one, EB Games on Maysville road said that they had one in back for $109.99 just in case anyone ever asks for that color. I would buy the green Halo one, get a warranty. Plus you could always sell the GREEN one on Ebay for more than you paid, if you change your mind.

I was in EB a couple times this week, they're running a buy 2 get one free on old sports titles. It appears to be mostly Xbox and PS2. I was at the Sears at the Castleton Mall today...saw Trace Memory for $10, Pac & Roll for $10 (in the glass case, not on the clearance table), Sea World DS for $10, Hustle Detroit (Billiards game for PSP) for $10 and a bunch of blah PS and Xbox games in the $10-15 range...nothing exciting. They may be rining up cheaper than they were marked...I didn't bother scanning any as I didn't see anything that interested me.

I also went to the Sears at the scary mall on 38th St. about a week or two ago. It was hard to see what clearance games they had as all the games are in glass cases and stacked on top of each other. Looked like the same DS clearance titles you see everywhere though and a few GBA titles.

I was also at the Target on 38th St. today. They have some new clearance games, some in the cases with the other games and few on the endcaps a few aisles down from the games. All the copies of Drilldozer I saw a few weeks ago were gone, as were the copies of Geist I saw. I did pick up a copy of Jade Empire LE for $10. I'm debating whether or not to keep it. I have the non-LE version that's still sealed, sitting on my shelf. I wonder if I could get anything for the non-LE version.

I demoed that game at Gencon, wouldn't call it a board game exactly, more of a collectible miniature game. It was okay but a little too simple for my tastes. I spent a lot of time playing Heroclix when it first came out though, so I'm used to characters having lots of different abilities and more depth.

My buddy that was with me at Gencon liked it a lot and but a ton when get got home to Kokomo. The guy that taught us the game at Gencon even told us that it was probably on clearance everywhere by now, which is never a good sign for a game's future.

Heh, anything with super heroes on it is collectible.

I went to the Target in Plainfield today and saw a bunch of clearance games. Some in the case, some out of the cases on the racks of budget titles, and a few on the clearance endcap. Only game worth reporting here is about 10 copies of Tales of Phantasia GBA for $15 each. It seems weird to me that Circuit City clearanced this game almost immediately after it came out and now Target clearances it as well. Both clearanced out Drilldozer as well. But really crappy movie/TV tie-in games from 3 years ago are still full price and taking up shelf space at both stores.

Tron 2.0
The Sims Online
Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
The Unauthorized Halo 2 Battle Guide
Final Fantasy X ( 2 copies: one good and one beat up)
Star Fox: Assult
Shadow of the Colossus
PSI-OPS
Need for Speed Underground
Mortal Kombat: Deception
Manhunt
Grand Theft Auto 3
Goldeneye: Rouge Agent
Enter the Matrix
Doom 3 (xbox version)
Destroy All Humans
Def Jam Fight for NY
Dead or Alive 4
Counter Strike
Call of Duty Finest Hour

Games
PC
Command and Conquer General
Guild Wars Pre-Order bonus
Test Drive 5

Gamegear
NBA Jam
Super Monaco GP
NHL All-Star

Misc.
3 NES dust covers
Red Faction Manual
Gundam Ez8 Master Grade model (partially finished)
Cable box (powered up, don’t know anything else)

I would just like to get rid of some of the stuff, trade for some guides, if you guys have some you don't want. I didn't see any clearance games around, unless I looked in the wrong area. It seems to be that they moved over before having many games delivered. They is a lot more room for games now, but much of the space is either empty or the same game placed in several slots (like Sonic Rush for DS). However, they did designate an area for PS3 and Wii games, that won't be used until either launch.

I was at Sears on Sat. and didn't see any games in a bin, like before. I might have to check around the mens department, next time I go there.

What are some examples of old and crappy and how much do they cost? Might be worth grabbing for trade-in deal fodder for EB/GS if they are for modern consoles. If they're for older consoles, then I'm sure some one here (myself included) probably wants even the crappy games since we're building full sets of every game ever made for certain classic systems.

Unfortunately the games are all normally priced at $16.99, so $34 for 6 isn't as good as it sounds.

And it's all typical movie gallery crap:

Mark Davis Bass Challenge

World Championship Poker
stuff like that

And no classic stuff, only a bunch of old PS1 and N64 sports titles.

Anyone know if the Bloomington EB Games is doing the used B2G1 sale still?

I think they were wrapping it up come last weekend, although, at worst, I think they were going until today. If you want I can check out there tomorrow since I need to do my typical shopping.

By the way, any titles you had in mind? I frequent the two locations often enough that I can probably give you a good idea if they had certain titles left on the shelves. Lord knows a lot of the unique and rares rarely go save for the workers and a handful of us customers.

The new WalMart on the south side has a bin of Xbox and PS2 games for $19.97 each. Didn't strike me as a really great deal, but maybe if you were looking to get one of these games anyway.

I don't know if the other stores are doing the same thing.

Yah, all Wal-Mart stores have bins or shelves of $20 games. This is actually a markup, as those same games were selling for $15 at Wal-Mart during the summer. Guess they marked them up for the holidays because they know they'll sell a ton of budget titles. It's all stuff that retails for $20 or less everywhere though.

got to love walmart.

I had to run my cousin to work at 11pm last night so i stopped past walmart for a laugh. I walked back to the game department and there was at least 50 people standing in line. Talking to them i found out that the middle of the group got there around 4pm that day and was standing in line for 7 hours. I did my shopping for the week and went back right before midnight and you should saw the look on all those people faces as the manager walked out

WE ONLY HAVE 8 SYSTEMS

then the cussing started. some people stood in line for 12+ hours saying they were told by workers they had enough to fill orders up to them.

LOL 8 systems.

I even heard a few people asking where does the wii line start. I dont know if they were talking about the nintendo or the rest room LOL

funny thing ps2 was never in demand in fort wayne. I remember a dude saying he walked in at 10am got one went to the car, went back in and grabbed another .... i dont think this video game madness started until xbox 360There was a demand for what I remembered, and here's why (at launch).

I went to Wal-Mart (around Jefferson Pointe) at around 9pm, thinking I'd have no problems getting one like the Dreamcast (I got to Wal-Mart at 11pm for DC). I was wrong, because you had to be there at 5pm to be guarnteed one. I waited, just in case someone had a credit card or some other problem, but that didn't happen. I was 31 on a list (Wal-Mart only got 22 in). I checked Meijer the same night, but they just had a raffle, so I missed out on that too (they got 26 of them in. I heard there was over 50 people there). I headed to Target very early in the morning, and they already handed out tickets, so I couldn't get one. Best Buy had a line stretched all the way to Kohl's (for 180 units), which all sold out instantly. Circuit City had a line of 10 (but this was 5am, and the store didn't open for a while, so I checked elsewhere, and the line got to 12, and they only got 12 consoles in). K-Mart had a line of 6, for 6 consoles they got in. I went to the southside of town, hoping I'd get better luck at Target and K-Mart there, but nope.

Well, the demand wasn't as crazy as PS3, but I still got shafted on launch. And I remember seeing the news, where they called every store in Fort Wayne, and the PS2 was sold out. The only times it was easy picking up a console, was for a few hours during Best Buy's 2nd shipment, or if someone didn't pick up their preorder at Gamestop or EB.

You'd be wrong. The original NES was a hot item when I was a kid and impossible to get that first Christmas it was released. People were selling them for a premium through newspaper ads and other outlets.

Before that, there shortages on video game systems my dad bought in the seventies, and he told me he had to pre-order some stuff to guarantee he'd get it when it was released, such as the gun for his Odyssey system.

Also, the PS2 was a very hot item when it came out, selling for about 3 times retail on Ebay. I don't remember them being easy to find in stores until around 6 months after it came out. If they were, I would have been buying them to resell.

I'm in Ft Wayne and haven't found a Wii. Meijer on Lima had them one day on my lunch hour, but I was 4th in a 3 Wii line...

If anyone knows somewhere that has stock, lemme know.

I was told that the Muncie TRU will get 12 on Sunday. :)

They ended up getting 21 in, I could've gotten one if I had wanted, but like with the 360 I'm waiting a year before I buy one.

There was a reason to wait on the 360 (hardware issue, no good games, hard to find), but there's no real reason not to get a Wii at launch. The Nintendo hardware is much more stable, the price is good, and they aren't that hard to find if you watch CAG. For example, all the Indy Targets and TRU stores had Wiis on Sunday, as did Circuit City. Some Target stores also got in 20 gig PS3 systems on Sunday. All you had to do to get a Wii was show up early at one of those store.

Having to deal with CS also has me feeling down (they were a pain to deal with).

Actually for me, I don't want a Wii right now.
1. I already have more than enough games to buy for all the platforms I own (I own most all, except Wii and PS3). I still haven't bought all the PS2, PSP, DS, and GBA games I want, which came out this year (most all of them are more interesting than what Wii has IMO).
2. I highly dislike the Zelda series and I'm not into most of Nintendo's first party games.
3. The only game I want this year for it is Elebits, and try out Excite Truck and Super Swing Golf. I would want DBZ BT2, but I'll probably just get it for PS2 instead.
4. PlayStation franchises (such as Sony's first party published games) just tend to appeal to me more, so I'm more interested in paying $500 for a PS3 vs. $250 for a Wii (VC is nice, but I cannot deny I like PS1 more than SNES/NES/N64 combined, which is why I'm excited for PSP downloads).

But, I'm definitely getting a Wii sometime next year, or maybe next. I'm even more compelled to get one due to Xbox 360 problems, and having very few games that appeal to me right now (I won't get into 360 much until next year, when the games I want come out).
