Picked up Valkyria Chronicles for $30 at Coon Rapids Best Buy yesterday. They have a shelf of orange dotted items in the 360 and PS3 aisles. The sales people had no idea what was going on, but the 360 shelf said all orange dot items are 50% off. Some of the items won't even ring up, they've been "deleted" from the system. There were a few more Chronicles and miscellaneous other stuff (some crap, some pretty decent like Condemned 360).

For those unaware there is a store a couple miles south on the east side of central called discount70. They get alot of what appears to be target clearance games and stuff from costco, sam's, etc. Couldn't see the price but most likely $32.00 for fable 2 CE. They 3-4 copies. Lots of other games as well. Every now and then you find a great deal but alot of them are overpriced. They also have a pile of those logitech bluetooth keyboards for ps3 for $26.

I picked up a copy of Prince of Persia at this Target this morning. It's also worth noting that the Best Buy across the street had a couple of clearance deals going on--4 for $25 on specially marked 360/PS3/Wii games, and I think 5 for $25 on certain PSP/DS/PS2 games (I didn't look at any of those, though). I picked up The Club, The Incredible Hulk, and Mercenaries 2 (x2). The cashier had to override all four, but it was fairly painless. Most of the games were things like Golden Compass, NFL Head Coach, MLB Front Office Manager, Spider-Man 3...I don't have an exact list, but it's worth checking out if you're in the area.

No problem price matching at the Brookdale Best Buy. Used it to pick up Virtua Tennis 09, which Target doesn't carry. They also had an in store special, $39.99 for the Endwar headset bundle.

Did anyone get out to Target today? I spent $100 at lunchtime on games that dropped from 30% directly to 75% off. This was one copy of each title, 8 in all, so this was crazy, since, as I lamented on the Target Clearance thread, they had been stuck at 30% for over a month almost everywhere in the area. The one title I did not see (and they were there days ago) was Left 4 Dead. I wonder if that jumped to 75% and hit $12.48. I already own it, but a friend had me keeping an eye out. Overall, it seems like someone got to every store I usually check after work sometime earlier. There were a few titles such as MK vs DC and PoP left, but no L4D or FEAR2.
Particularly happy I picked up LocoRoco 2, StarOcean: Second Evolution and Saints Row 2 all at 75%. PM me if you want to know where I left copies of Secret Agent Clank, LocoRoco2, NFS Undercover(360), PoP and MK vs DC.

EDIT: Also gone were BK N&B, the PSP doublepack. Guess I was lucky I found one store with some good titles left. I hit 5 stores.

Don't go to the Plymouth GameStop if you plan to return anything, I think they are run differently or something because the employees all wear uniforms and they only would give Store Credit for the returns I made. Not sure if it was just my luck, but I wouldn't trust em.

Another note, the GameStop in Brooklyn Center takes manuals out of the cases, so always check before passing on a game because of nothing in the case.

You will miss out on a ton of clearance games if you wait for a price to drop below 75% off (which PoP is @ $14.98). I have never seen a price lower and only a small number of CAGs have. Target is more likely to pull a stack of 75% off games and sell/donate them to Goodwill if they don't sell than to drop the price further.

FYI: Richfield Best Buy has a pretty good clearance table at the front of the store. I'm just going off of memory so this may not be completely accurate but:

Your caution was justified. It's pretty rare for them to drop below 75% off. However, with the 20-30 copies some stores have of these games - I can understand the further reduction.

Not a MN specific deal, but I took advantage of the $10 Eat Lead: Legend of Matt Hazard deal at Best Buy (Reward Zone $20 off coupon) at the Richfield location. They had about 6-7 copies left.

If you don't like the game, the GS value is $8 so it would be like a cheap or free rental (if you have other games and can get the 40%+10% Edge card bump).

Kristina, Brandon and Noel(if he's still there) are pretty good about things, the assistant manager Todd(bald with tats) comes off as a bit of an ass, he'd have to really know you to cut you any slack. I've known him about two years, he's not really as bad as he comes off as.

I picked up Shaun White Snowboarding for the PS3 fo4 $5 and Mortal Combat vs DC Universe for $7 yesterday at the Eagan Sam's Club. Both were for the PS3. They had Shaun White for the PSP for the same price and I also got Resistance for the PSP for $18. The checkout woman said she had just done the mark down 2 hours before I got there so maybe others did mark downs yesterday too.

Went to the Eden Prairie HWV this morning to look for some $4.99 games. The dude working said that a couple of clowns stopped in Monday night and said they were hitting all of the HWV stores between Minneapolis and the SW suburbs, cleaning every one out. Needless to say, there was nothing but garbage left on the selves this morning.

The Oak Park Heights HWV got a shipment in from a GameCrazy when I was there. The manager let me pick from the pile. There were some quality titles including Gears of War, GTAIV, Mercenaries 2, Saints Row, Devil May Cry 4, and Bioshock for 360. A couple of PS3s were SOCOM Confrontation and Resistance FoM. He is getting another shipment in tomorrow that added a Fight Night 3, but was more of the same as today's. Sorry I can't remember more, but it was the first store of many tonight. All other stores were hit pretty hard. I hit several stores (mostly E & N). My best pickups were MGS4, Lost Odyssey, GRID and a sealed SOCOM (cutout). The manager at OPH said he looked at the sales for the district and he sold the most, with WSP second. WSP was a wasteland today at lunchtime. I got zero there.

Well, I called yesterday and they said they had 0 in stock, so I have no idea. Maybe someone convinced them to sell the regularly priced copies for 10$? Regardless, the whole thing is different from the typical BB clearance rack... all manager overrides... so they could theoretically do it with any game they're overstocked with. The manager there told me they do it cause they get 5x the volume of games due to MoA traffic - she also said to look back in like October.

BB @ M0A had over twenty Animal Crossing City Folk bundles for $10 and about 10 + or so Resistance 2 CE for $20. As soon as it was posted here, they were gone within 2 days. Just saying it was not a mistake, just a clearance. I am aware of many BB's that clearance some copies of a title and leave some copies full price. Edina is an example of the Animal Crossing bundle. They had about 14 copies and only 3 were 50% off.

Because it has followed the standard clearance price drops. Two weeks ago they were at 13.98, Last week to 50% off, so it's possible that next week it will go to 75%. It's not 100% confirmed that next week they'll be $5, but it's certainly possible if it continues to drop like everything else on clearance.

I was there Thursday at around 6 PM and they had about 60-80 of them at the last checkout isle.

I was in there this morning. The large pack of cards that was on the end lane was gone. There were clearance tags on the end three lanes. There were 2 to 4 cards on several other lanes. These were marked and rang up $19.99. There was another pack of orange cards about the same size as what was up front on the online points display in electronics along with many of the new white ones. I talked to the CS Rep there and he believed the clearance ones sold out and that they had a different DCPI number than the remaining ones. I assumed the old cards were orange and the new white, but perhaps there was an older version of the orange cards on clearance.

Yeah there were a ton of them last week. It's just amazing so many sold at $10 a pop. There were at least 60-80 cards there last Wednesday. Oh well. I was hoping they're would've been some left and that they would've dropped down to $5 but I figured that there wasn't much of a chance. Hope some of the other folks on the board got a few.

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners.

Yep, that's a different DCPI from some of the other orange ones. I guess some of the orange ones are older? The newest DCPI is 207080220 I believe.

Hudson, be careful with the two guitar bundle it the old Les Paul ones that came with GH3 and not the new one with the "Slider Bar". Target had that bundle too for the same clearance price of $22.48 but it only had one guitar. It's kinda lame that the game tells me to use the slider bar but I have no way to do it since Activision had to clear out old iventory of the Les Paul. Oh well, it was only $22.48 and my kids like it. Still waiting to jump on a Dead Space for PS3 for $7.48.

The Thunder are playing against the Puerto Rico Islanders. The game is at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Tickets are from $5 to $27. The $5 ticket is good for the bleacher on the other side of the field or behind either goal along with the beer garden.

Also anyone in high school or college with an ID can get in for $2 to this game as well.

From a guy who's actually played with and against the Thunder, I must say, their games are not that enjoyable to watch. I honestly think you'd be better off going to Augsburg College on a Thursday night during the summer and watching the MASL Division 1 teams play... And considering this is CAG, its free :)

I might have to check out a few games there next summer. I still do enjoy going to a few Thunder games a year. Plus the NSC is only getting better and better with all the remodeling work they have been doing.

They did put in the new watering system prior to this season that uses the near by drain fields which saves them tons of money. Plus it looks like they are slowing putting in new turf as well.
