Thought I'd go ahead and create a topic for Minnesota. As usual, be sure to include specific info such as the store's location when posting a deal (and of course, information about the deal itself). Enjoy! :)

I'm pretty sure Minnesotas best deal is any involving moving vans... :wall:

Well, this is hardly a deal, but the Owatonna GameStop store has Musashi Samurai Legend new for $20, and a used copy of Persona 2 for $27.99 I believe. I don't know if it's the re-print version though.

Well everyone should know.. that the Gamestop in Midway always.. ALWAYS has that Buy 2 used games get 1 free. And I saw a lot of Persona 2 there.. I'm not too keen with Playstation RPGs but yea..

I always go to the Roseville or Maplewood Gamestops, but I'll definitely have to drop by the Midway one. Thanks for the info!

Roseville GS suck IMO there just isn't anything. The Maplewood one is fine... I've been there just once though. But man that place is far and the CC there seem so.. secluded? I just think that whole area is. I love the GameCrazy in Maplewood. I got my DC there and the keyboards just in the summer.

Anyone been to Joko? It's around Midway. I know it is a kind of "joke", but the place will reopen Oct 21.. well that place isn't that great, but I remember I got a Bujingai for $20 (from $24.00 down to $20). The cover was printed and no manual, but all I really wanted is the game. I'm wondering how management will be like and etc.

I know. I used to go to this place in Mounds View, Big 10 Video, and right next to it, there would be a different game store every year. One time it was Game Depot, another time it was Gamer X. The stores were never busy at all, which explains why they all went out of business.

Gotta love the huge retailers taking over media sales. At least the new EP Best Buy opens on the 21st. Then I don't have to go to Richfield to sell my soul.

Do you guys know if they will have a grand opening sale?

Speaking of huge retailers taking over the little guys, are there any Funco's left in the Twin Cities? I just moved back to the Cities, but back in the 90's I remember a Funco in Roseville (which is now a GS, which as another poster mentioned, sucks monkey balls).

I did hit the Half Price Books in St. Paul (Highland) and in Maplewood and there were a few decent titles for the PC. Additionally, saw some good game guides but I don't collect those.

Ummm....no. There never was or has been a Funco on the 3rd floor of the MoA. There was one on 2nd, and that was turned into a GameStop like five or six years ago. Since then, the EBX, EB and both 1st and 2nd floor GameStops all closed and there is only a brand new GameStop up on 3rd left in that mall anymore.

As for the EP BB grand opening, I saw a flyer in my STrib today with some deals. The only thing of note was a $15 giftcard for any combined purchase of $75 worth of CDs, DVDs and games. All the other stuff was meh.

Daunte will throw for 4 ints and 0 TDs.

Brett has been smokin' the last 2 games (well last 1.5). I don't think there's anything left in the Vikes tank.

BTW, Bryant McKinnie is signing autographs at the BB on Saturday.

If I remember right we only had a few copies and they went pretty quickly. And no it was not me who took em all. I only snagged "Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King" for the GBA and "Ridge Racer" for the DS during the sale along with the XBox "Return Of The King" for $7.50ish.

Tempted to grab "Prince Of Persia" for the GBA now that its $7.50ish. :D

One of the employees at the Circuit City in Coon Rapids spent about 30 minutes finding the one copy in stock of MegaMan Anniversary Collection for the GameCube when it went on sale. Oh and I must admit that the Half Price Books in Coon Rapids has improved quite a bit lately. I've gotten some good scores including:

Twlight Zone The Complete Series (the recent UPN one) - $9.98
Full House Season One - $9.98
Pink Floyd - The Early Singles - $7.98 (this is pretty rare as this only got released with the Shine On boxset)

They have also gotten a LARGE amount of Laserdiscs as of lately. There are a few that I might end up picking up eventually as well. :)

I've all but given up on the Half Price Books in Coon Rapids when it comes to console games. It's a great place to pick up NFL Fever 2003 for $7.99, but that's about it for selection. PC games are really hit or miss. I do like their return policy -- full credit if returned within 30 days on all software/games. For about six months, I bought/returned for credit/rebought games using the same original credit again and again. I was the ultimate CAG.

Most of my money goes to the Pawn America mentioned a few posts back. They do odd pricing, though. They'll have a Luigi's Mansion for $20.00 sitting right next to an identical one for $8.00. I bought a used Gamecube with one controller from one of their eBay auctions for $33.00 -- with no shipping because I just picked it up at their Fridley location -- and it looked brand new.

Demolition Man

Yeah that HPB is crap when it comes to console games. Then again I understand why they don't get much in when they pay even lower than Gamestop or EB does - and HPB also will take pretty much anything so that is why you see floods of NFL Fever 2003 (amongst every other older sports game).

I do agree Pawn America does have some odd pricing. Same with the Goodwill next to the Target Greatland by Northtown. They just got a TON of Target's recent clearance items in and obviously they have been marked up far over what Target was clearing them out for... well except for the Samsung 26 inch HDTV (which at $250 is a nice deal tho the remote is missing... unless they got it at the register since I didn't ask).

Never a problem to help out a fellow CAGer. I figure since many other forum members around here have helped me score some nice deals that its fair to return the favor by helping out myself (by posting CC markdowns, clearance lists, etc etc etc).

Anyways... gotta get ready for my shift soon. Sadly I get to miss out on watching the Vikes game this week on my nice HDTV but hell... not like as if I am missing anything.

Well, I think the decision to "tank" the season is really nothing that they can control, their lack of talent/coaching is already taking care of that. If they did try to tank, they would probably end up backdooring into the playoffs again.

Hehe, well Brad Johnson is old, slow, and not very flashy, but he certainly won't lose the Vikes games like a certain other guy. (whose knee they are still scraping up off the field) This might be a blessing for the Vikings no matter what happens. On one hand they could turn their season around...I mean this is the NFC North people! On the other hand they lose every game they have left and have a chance at Matt Lienart or Vince Young. Lets face it, Culpepper has been exposed as a fraud. Moss made him look like an MVP. I was fooled like everyone else. Hopefully Ziggy can fix the mess that is the Minnesota Vikings.

If anyone wants to feel sorry for me, the ONLY television I watch is the Vikings games (as TV eats up valuable gaming time). I don't mind having Brad Johnson back at the helm (not that he will do us any good), as I was sad when we traded him back in 1998. For some reason, we traded him in favor of such MVP quarterbacks as Warren Moon and Randall Cunningham. And four years later, Johnson won a Superbowl. And the Vikings . . . well, at least they can still be contenders in Madden 98.

Yes, go Vikes, but the worst possible scenario is that we win enough games to keep Mike Tice.

I was thinking of picking up a 360 Snoop. I see that the flagship BB by the headquarters in Richfield is getting about 180 of them. Other BBs around here are getting 60-70. If I get that urge to pick one up, I'll just try walking in at opening.

Man, you guys need to stop going to GameStop. FuncoLand was of course a locally owned company, which is why MN has so many GameStops now (since Funcoland sold out to the company that owns GameStop), but it's rare to see even a decent deal there.

GameCrazy is the place to go. There's one in Roseville off of Snelling, South of the mall area, across the street from the HarMar theater. The guys that work there are pretty cool and laid back. They're usually more on-top of new realeases than all of the other stores around here too.

I went there and picked up Gunstar Super Heroes (no other stores had it in), and I talked to the guys a while about the new Katamari game. I said that I didn't want to pay $30 for it. They looked around, and they didn't have any used copies, so the guy was cool enough to offer me $5 off. I think they liked the fact that I could talk to them about old NES games, too. Anyway, if you're cool, you might be able to get stuff for cheaper than usual there. Don't pressure them to give you a discount though, I don't want to lose my discounts D:

I can testify that the Roseville Gamecrazy is awesome (that's where I ordered my Suikoden 2!) but the Gamecrazy in St. Cloud here is probably one of the worst video game stores I've ever been in. If your buying anything other than Nintendo in there, they WILL heckle you and talk down to you. Their fanboyishness is just sickening and the biggest reason why I refused to renew my MVP membership this month.

The Gamestop up here though, for the most part, is a awesome. There's a few employees who's heads are way up their asses. But the manager of the store is awesome and definetly makes it the best video game store of the 3 (eb, gamestop, gamecrazy) up here.

Edit- BTW, I believe Gamestop's headquarters are still in MN, so while it is a huge company, it could still be considered locally owned.

Yeah, I'd have to agree 100% about the St. Cloud/Waite Park GC. It is by far the worst game store I've ever been in ever! I actually had one of the crappy employees there tell me he hoped the game I went in there to reserve (an Xbox title) would never come into that store. So I took my $50 over to Gamestop and spent it there. Although I'd also agree other then the manager at GS the rest of the crew is a bunch of crap. I pretty much have given up on Gamestop a long time ago... well at least the Northtown location (or locations for now as we got TWO of them across from each other). One time I called looking for the Pelican System Selector Pro and the guy said "yeah we got it." So I go on in but it turns out that he mistook the Gamestop cheapy componet selector for the Pelican one. Easy mistake but his stupidity afterwards is what pissed me off when he claimed that "the Pelican got recalled" after he admitted a moment prior to not knowing the difference between the two.

Yep, sounds like something they would do. One time I was in there one of the fanboys was reading an EGM that was talking about some big name XBox game coming out (I can't remember which one cause it was probably 8 months ago). Anyway he's talking to one of his fellow fanboy/coworkers saying, "This is fucking bullshit, why doesn't EGM just admit they're on Microsoft's payroll? I just want to say that I love the GameCrazy over in Blaine. The people there are friendly and don't hassle you as bad as the GameStop employees over at Northtown.

They just need to stock up more on games. =(

Yeah, I got into an argument with them too. Maybe its better that I don't shop at gamecrazy anymore.

I would rather do it at BB just because I'd get $15 in RZ certificates. Plus, I need to pick up an iPod nano for my GF.

Is this 360 really worth $500? I just can't decide.

I really don't think the 360 is worth $500. I don't it's worth that much to me. But hey I'm a Nintendo fan so I don't think my say would count as anything. I played it at Walmart and it's well I'm not an avid Xbox player so I just think the controls are smoother? Graphics are nice whatever. But I do think you should wait for a price drop on the 360. I thought there was going to be one later on anyways.

Yea the GC in Roseville is pretty friendly. Maplewood is all right. Eden Prarie is pretty nice too, although I've been there once. GC in Eagan is really nice. This dude gave me free rentals coupons over there when I didn't buy any systems.

Gamestop is fine. I only take advantage of the GC on University. As I said they have that everlasting Buy 2 Used Get 1 Free deal.

GameCrazy is the place to go. There's one in Roseville off of Snelling, South of the mall area, across the street from the HarMar theater. The guys that work there are pretty cool and laid back. They're usually more on-top of new realeases than all of the other stores around here too.

So true. They are awesome, know their games, and are very nice to boot. That GS in Roseville off Cty Rd B2...that's a freakin' nightmare.

Being a totally CAG, I am now getting the bug to purchase an Xbox. That's right - not a 360, but a good ol' fashioned, what do we do with these in about 6 mo. Xbox. He, he, he.

Finally, the Vikes will win enough games to get a lousy draft pick (definitely not Leinhart) but I don't think Tice will be asked back next year. And the freaking Wild also need to let loose those purse strings a little bit, otherwise they will never compete with Vancouver or Colorado.

This game is garbage, how can they give it such a high score, its so obvious that Microsoft is just fuckin paying them off"

Now I don't mind swearing, its highly unprofessional but I'm not gonna get in a hissy fit over it. I'm pretty sure I know the exact guy your talking about too, his name is Gully. He's a total Nintendo mark, and a bad one at that. The guy hates anything that's not made from the Big N.

Far as the 360 goes, most stores should be getting a good shippment of them with Wal-marts, BBs, and the crappy video game stores in each town, they shouldn't be really hard to find. Plus if you're in St. Cloud, you could just line up at like Shopko, nobody goes there. Plus whats a good time to start camping out if you're not going to Walmart?

I work in the GS in Shakopee. I think we have a used guilty gear, and guilty gear 2, but they both dont have boxes. And the Walmart next to us has a sealed Fatal Frame 2 (at least they did from last Saturday). I heard those games are uncommon so i decided to mention them. Oh, and also the GS in Savage has really old Strategy Guides (back to PS1 games) so stop by there. But I'm not sure if they still have them, b/c the district manager has been coming down lately and telling us (Shakopee and Savage) to get rid of crap and switch everything around for the 360 launch, so it's been hell lately. In the Cub Foods in Bloomington, you can sometimes get a $2.00 off used DVD's and Games $10.00 and up on the back of your reciept for Discland (btw Discland rules). I kinda cheat by buying a pack of kool aid for like 15 cents and then sometimes i get the coupon. It doesnt always work because you know, chance and propibility and what not. Anyways, hopes that helps someone.

Yeah my friends and I were out this afternoon and we saw 360 stuff at Target and EBGames (yeah I know but we were walking around the mall bored). I haven't been to Best Buy lately so I'm not sure what they've gotten in.

As far as the 360 goes, I'll definetly be getting it at Target because I can still use my mom's employee discount (with that and free health insurance till I'm 25, Target is definetly my favorite company!) So its gonna end up saving me $50 when I end up getting a premium bundle, extra wireless controller, and perfect dark zero. Your definetly right about Shopko, both of them are ALWAYS dead, the wast side one does better than the east side but still, there isn't much to 'em. Since I live pretty close to the east end target I'm just gonna stay up all night and drive up there every so often and get in line as soon as I see one forming.

That makes better sense then the idiot saying that "they were defective." Oh well, that's retail for you in general. For every one even semi intelligent person you'll have at least five idiot employees. Not to sound mean about it but yeah some people are just not meant for retail.

That's ridiculous. They're like starbucks proximity closeness. I'm thinking that since the newer Gamestop was supposed to be an EB at one point that when Gamestop bought them out the owner wouldn't let Gamestop out of EB's lease obligation so now Gamestop is stuck with two locations less than a block apart.

Northtown area, eh? What city do you live in? I used to live over by that area.

Don't bother, there's plenty of other better deals out there right now. Video games are only 10% at this point which means that the $10 off best buy coupon is still a better deal. The DVDs are only 20% off and that doesn't make up for Media Play's already high markup.

Exactly. However it feels pretty sweet whenever I can find a deal. Speaking of which I was at the Northtown Toys R Us last Friday. They had some pretty good deals going on including some good games marked down to $9.99 including "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals" for the GC and "Atari Retro Collection" for the DS.

I also periodically check the Half Price Books by Northtown at least once a week. Seems like as of lately I always find at least one good deal per visit. Best deal I've gotten is the rare Pink Floyd CD "The Early Singles" which only got released with the ubber leet "Shine On" boxset and a copy of Bucker And Garcia's "Pac-Man Fever" CD.

Never thought I would see the day that Pink Floyd and Pac-Man Fever would be mentioned in the same breath.

Gotta go to the Maplewood shopping uber urban sprawl this weekend and do the ol' EB -> TRU -> Half-Price Books run. I gotta agree with you guys about the lack of places to purchase cag's, and with the eventual merger and downsizing of the GameStop / EBGames monster, our choices will be further limited. Maybe Best Buy will change their ways and offer more in the way of discounts to bring back the "devil customers". We may purchase games for cheap, but if they kept them cheap, they would probably recover their margin since we would definitely keep the shelves empty! Either that, or hell freezes over.

The independent game store by Noodles & Company is Toyriffic - they're pretty good people, and they pay cash (albeit little) for games. They also have virtually every rare game I'm aware of... for a pretty hefty fee. Twice a year they do a half-off sale that's pretty well frequented, but they pull all the systems and rare stuff. That place in Eagan is probably Cedar Cliff Collectables (http://www.cedarcliffcollectibles.com/). I know how you feel about the X-Files DVDs, I just got a set that I bought off Ebay for somebody as a christmas gift and it was a bootleg even though the auction said it was the US release. Everyone seems far from the Twin Cities. I'd call Roseville or Burnsville, but I'm broke atm.

I don't think anyone knows what I'm talking about.. but what's that game store that's near 94E it's around the border of MN and WI. It has Sonic on the front window? But I think I'll check that store out one day.. if it's worth checking.

edit: There is no Roseville. I completely forgot.

I grabbed

RE4 x2
Pikmin 2 x2
Psychonauts
Golden Sun 2 (Lots of these left)

I went back a little bit later for Pirates, and about 3 employees were looking for games for themselves.

FYI if anyone wants pirates the tag is on the top row, with no case around it.

There was a copy of Transformers at the Ridgedale TRU at 8am this morning. It wasn't on the shelf but was in with some of their other low priced games near the R-Zone counter.

Did really well at Ridgedale. RE4, Tekken 5, DDS, Halo 2, Doom 3, FF DoS were all there. Plenty of Tekken but I got the last two RE4's, DDS, and FF DoS. No other CAG's, just two guys with lists printed from Fat Wallet where there. Otherwise empty of pretty much any other customer.

There was also at least one copy of Transformers at Burnsville when I went in today around 4. Surprisingly, it didn't seem like many people around there knew about the sale at all. The employess had no idea that there even WAS a sale.

I picked up Metal Slug Advance, F-Zero GX, Dark Cloud 2, & Romance of the Three Kingdoms X.

There were a lot of copies of Pariah, Predator, Project Snowblind, Blood Rayne 2 and at least one copy of FF I&II that I can remember off the top of my head. But if you go in, I would look around yourself because I asked the guy working there if he had seen any copies of Metal Slug Advance and he said he'd never seen it...while standing right in front of it.

I went to the TRU in Burnsville to check out the sale and noticed the Mario cart + ultimate Spiderman bundle + Starter kit for 149.99 deal. I went up to the guy working and of course they were out, but he told me I could build my own bundle including a DS + game of my choice + started kit for 129.99. Not a bad deal if you need a DS and want the new Castlevania game.

Went to Maplewood TRU and there were $9.98 titles available, and the salesperson working there was AWESOME - he went through and told me which titles were on sale and available. I picked up titles for the GC...

Fight Night 2 (several available)
Def Jam 2 (avail)
Wario Ware (I think I got the last one)
Madden 05
Pokemon Channel (for the little kids...)

They also had Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2, Virtua Quest, and others I can't think of right now. However, the salesman told me someone came in last night and picked all 4 RE4...

No Mario Parties (4, 5) were in stock, either....

Went to Blaine this morning. They had a bin setup that was a complete clusterfuck. I had to dig to find what I was looking for. I eventually found Madden 05 DS and Ninja Gaiden XBox - and somehow I didn't even notice Gaiden on the list at all until I got home. I had my hands on Doom 3 XBox but put it back. Stupid me as I realize I should of gotten it so I went back this afternoon. They were all gone. They did have the "limited" edition for $30, which I passed on. I'll wait for a good sale on the LE at this point, as I see many stores with FLOODS of them so I suspect some big markdowns soon on em.

No RE4 or anything else I was looking for. However if anyone is looking for the Texas Hold Em GBA game the Blaine location had at least 30 of them.

Oh, and for anyone who visited after 4:30 PM today you might notice that clusterfuck bin is a bit cleaner since I organized it while praying to find a Doom 3.... yeah I really feel pwned to have missed out.

Yeah that TRU is bad for being absolutely slow at getting new product. Took them forever just to get the TNA Series 2 line, but I finally grabbed the Christopher Daniels figure (and might go back to get Ron Killings). Hope they don't take forever getting Series 3 as there is a new Raven figure amongst it. :D

Well here's some random stuff that I've found nearby -

Games 'N Go at Southdale in Edina has a complete in box SEGA Genesis sports package that was some bundle way back when with two random sports games. The Genny is model 2. For $25 I thought it was a good deal, if it's still there and some of you want to crack into the Genesis scene this would be a good oprotunity.

Also Barnes and Noble in Edina has a handful of old PSX RPG guides which I can onjly assume would be worth a little bit, considering anything RPG in the PSX era manages a few pennies.

Video Plus in Crosslake Minnesota (30 minutes north of Brainard I think) has a good deal of boxed NES games for $3 a pop. I'm not into that stuff so I have no idea which titles are worth anything, but most were non-sports so I thought it would be worth mentioning.

Places are so far from St. Paul.. but I went to Midway area and Joko Games are selling used DS for $94.99 and used PSP for $199 if that's anything for people. Also GameStop over there changed their deal to the regular? Buy 3 Get 1 free used DVD and Games. I saw Rhapsody for $29.99. I remember at the MOA I saw it for $39.99.

Does anyone here work at Gamestop even? I hear it sucks to work at any retail store.. but anyone's personal experience in MN?

MN arcades are notorious for just plain sucking. I wouldn't waste my time going to check it out. Gee, let me guess what's there: Time Crisis 2, Crisis Zone, NBA Jam, Blitz 2003, only new games possibly Initial D (which get crammed up with Asian wannabe racers and kills the scene) and Tekken 5, which is already out on console and no one cares to meet up at arcades for tournaments anymore like in the late 90s with Tekken 3.

The Toys R US in Duluth is closing its so sad. I was looking forward to the next Buy 1 get 1 Free deal that we have over the summer. Plus they always tended to have games that sold out everywhere else. I bought Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls, Final Fantasy Tactics, and the River City Ransom there about two months ago after they were sold out of them just about everyplace else plus they were all on green tag clearance.

They still had a couple of ten dollar games left when I went for the first day of the clearance sale so I picked up . a couple there Doom 3, Conflict Desert Storm 2, Transformers, and Metal Slug 4 and 5. They sold out of some games some of which were weird since they were cheaper at Best Buy even with the clearance discount.

Yeah, that Arcade in Northtown mall isn't that amazing. I was suprised to see it though.

I think arcades are just dying all together. I have not seen an arcade with a good selection of games for a while since I was younger.

The arcade located in Roseville mall was pretty decent for a while but it closed down too.

Demolition Man
01-10-2006, 05:33 AM
Yeah arcades have really died off since the hardcore arcade gamers can now play most of their beloved favorites at home either on the game systems or the classics via MAME. Without the hardcore arcade gamers (which is where a HUGE amount of money came from), you aren't going to see the variety at the arcades like you used to.

The only way arcades will make a comeback is *IF* something like virtual reality (ala holodeck) makes a big splash in the arcades first. Heck I would almost EXPECT that to be a hit in the arcades first as the technology behind it would be beyond the reach of Joe Sixpack to buy outright.

I got Castlevania and Final Tactics Advance for GBA today both for friends. The selection is beginning to slim down though FFTA was a new addition and they had some new DS stuff nothing quality though.

I'll probably hit it up again Sunday and take advantage of 30 percent off on anything left that I wanted since then the 20 titles will be cheaper than the 2 for 30 specials a lot of stores have through the year.

For all of you SNES collectors they have a bunch of old RPG's too, if you won't mind paying a little more to get it locally then go for it. I got a complete copy of Final Fantasy III for $50 there, and they still have a complete one of FFII. They had over a half a dozen copies of Chrono Trigger, a few Breath of Fires and some loose copies of Final Fantasy II, III and Mystic Quest.

Minnesota Public Announcement: THe newly opened, 2-3 year old Sam Goody located in Maplewood Mall in Maplewood, MN is closing. Nothing new, but there's a lot of good games to be had if it goes to 40-50% off...

This is a BIG YMMV, but I just stopped into the EB in Apple Valley to pick up a pre-order and sitting on the counter were two TOTALLY COMPLETE copies of Lunar Silver Star Story AND Lunar 2.

Was there a reprint that I was unaware of?

The manager said that they were just shipped to him today, so maybe there's some kind of stockpile somewhere that no one knew about. It could be worth a call to your local EB to see if they got some copies in as well. You may just get lucky.

And...why didn't you pick them up for yourself? :)

It's too bad I just have other games to buy instead! But.. new complete Lunar 1 and 2?

Yeah that happened to me to but with other games, they had Persona 2 and Rhapsody in stock in one day at my local gamestop both complete the sales guy said it was kind of weird they got a bunch of copies at the same time as other stores.

Well, with Working Designs closed and out of business, I doubt they were reprints. They must have found a bunch somewhere though as I recall witnessing the same thing at the Maplewood EB about a week and a half ago (couple copies of Lunar 1 and 2 on the counter...didn't look to see if they were new or preowned).

That's actually why I wondered if they were reprints. Persona 2 and Rhapsody were both reprinted recently so they aren't really rare anymore. I've picked up Persona 2 myself and it was obviously new sold as used.

Yeah, I suppose that's true. Hard to reprint something when you're out of business. But their closing down was the first thing that came to mind...and that maybe they had some copies at their HQ or something.

After looking at the condition of the discs, Silver Star Story is MINT. Not a scratch to be seen, but Eternal Blue has visible small scratches that come with use. If they're not new they've been VERY taken care of, which is refreshing considering most used games you see are wrecked beyond description.

I just went to a place called games 4 less in Lino Lakes. It was pretty cool. It had all the old school games and systems, with the new and dvd's. The prices were decent and almost all the old school games were buy 2 get 1 free. I bought I just bought 3 nes games i have been looking for and 3 snes games. I just thought I would let you guys know, I just can't stand gamestop and there cold pushy attitudes, pluss they have old school whitch are hard to find now a day's.

We have a store like that in Duluth called All Game that has nothing but classic games on west 1st Street right up one block and to the left after you pass Pizza Luce coming up on Hwy 35 its kind of hard to miss but they had a real good selection since last time I went there.

If anyone is still looking for the Xbox 360, they have the bundles in stock (as of 10 minutes ago) at the Costco in Coon Rapids. It's the $488 bundle with the included hard drive, extra controller, play and charge kit, and Project Gotham Racing 3. I don't know how many they have, as they only had one on display at the front of the store.

Yeah I believe that is the only place in the entire Anoka area that has 360s in on a near regular basis. Its not a bad deal either, but I'm going to wait until the premium can be had for around $250-300 before I jump to the 360.

The gamestop in mankato, mn (the one in the mall) had arc the lad collection, lunar 1 and 2 like this also. They were pretty beat up. I got arc the lad and ran out of their before I spent more money (I have lunars disk and case already)

Last time I was at the Midway St. Paul Gamestop they had 3-4 complete arc the lad collections and 1 of the lunars. No way they were reprints all of the boxes had scuffing on the outside and the bare cardboard edges that are supposed to be white were very yellowed.

how were the prices on the nes games?

From what I remember pretty reasonable. All the old school games (nes, snes,n64,ps1 and even gb and gba) and dvd's were buy 2 get 1 free. I think there most expensive game was Zelda at $17.99, but everything averaged around $5 or $6.

Does anyone know any good places around the Twin Cities, specifically the Southern Metro, that has a decent selection of game or anime figures/statues?

I don't know if this is nationwide but the Toys R Us in Blaine is supposed to be getting (if they haven't already) Elecktroplankton for the DS. I was in a few weeks ago and saw the display boxes sitting there. The R Zone folks told me that they are just waiting for the copies to come in. I'm going by today (as in Sunday) to see if they got it in yet. :D

The EB games at the Eden Prarie Mall has Klonoa for the PS1 (without the back slip) for 15, amd Rhaphsody for 30. and a store called Too Cool (bottom floor near EB) has some neat anime and game related stuff too, like a mini keyblade from kingdom hearts. just to let everyone know

Any one know any pawn shops that have a decent selection and prices on NES games? Pawnamerica in robinsdale sucks, they want 50$ + for final fantasy III for SNES.

On another note, has anyone ever found a decent deal at Games N Go? Since they are one of the few stores around that sells older games I stop in there every once and a while only to realize that they want 250$ for Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Duluth MN TRU is now 50% off games and 70% off accessories. Its also closing in 6 days. Still had some decent DS stuff repriced a lot of stuff to so they are more expensive then a week ago. They had Baiten Kaitos at 30 before discount and they had Battalion Wars like 5 copies since someone had asked about that. I was tempted to get a couple newer games but I realized I can wait a few months to get them when I have the actual time to play them.

Shinders? Up in Roseville? It's very decent ish. Not the greatest.

MN has a lot of pages.

I remember when they had the "reprints" of Gitaroo Man, Rhasody, Persona 2.. they call it more like "suddenly finding it and giving it away" or something.

There is a large comic book store a couple of blocks from the roseville gamecrazy on snelling. Can't remember the name, it is on the corner and on one side of it is a gas station and the other side is some fancy resturant. Went in there once on the .0001% chance they would have video games, they had a ton of stuff though, even stuff like sealed gi joes from WWII.

Yeah, I thought Shinders may have had SOME kind of selection, but the one in Burnsville had almost nothing. Maybe I'll have to check out a different one.

The name of it is The Source and, while the do carry a bit of anime stuff, IIRC its mostly gaming and comic books. Its been a few months since I've been there so they may have started carrying more anime.

I live just a mile from the place and it's absolutely awesome. Lots of new and classic tabletop games, comic books and comic book stuff, etc. There are anime DVD's in the north side of the store as you walk in and past the counter.
