I was at the Powell Station today, and I saw the new advertisements for Left 4 Dead. They took a giant poster of the cover and put it on the ground in front of the stairs. They also posted it on those pillars sticking out from the walls at the waiting area for the trains. It was pretty cool to see ads for it.

It's almost as if they knew a wildly popular, $200 game was coming out!

It's always like that...they have it a week right before the really popular games come out. There was only one time where I got a new game during the B2G1 deals at TRU....Soul Calibur III. It had just come out that Tuesday (or Wednesday). We didn't have pre-orders or anything, just walked in and asked. They had 3 copies availabe for sale, the rest were for pre-orders...we bought all 3.

They don't rent the original Rock Band for PS3 in my area, I guess. I stopped at a couple Blockbusters so I could do the song import thing and nobody had it, so I ended up signing up for a free Gamefly account instead.

The Blockbuster in Menlo Park did have RB2 in for PS3, though. Worth checking out if you can't wait another day and don't plan on buying it.

What a day today.

I went to 4 different Gamestops and 3 different Blockbusters and did trading. I came out with a :360: Arcade system and an ample amount of credit to get the new releases in the next few weeks.

I have a question. The :360: Arcade pack without the Sega Superstars Tennis doesn't have HDMI right? I was wondering if I could trade in my system for one that has HDMI.

I just picked up Bioshock and Midnight Club: Los Angeles for the :ps3: today. I can't wait for Guitar Hero and Fallout 3 soon.

Yeah, I got the PS3 version Metaly. Maybe we can do a guitar/bass thing. I don't mind doing vocals either. I would do drums but I don't have room in my house for them at the moment.

Got a Resistance 2 code as well, which I don't remember signing up for. Not sure if I'll even download it or not.

Also I just want to say that I'm pretty dissatisfied with Gamefly's service so far. I signed up about a week ago to get Rock Band 1 and there's been no shipping notice even though it was listed as high availability. Meanwhile they sent me Force Unleashed, which I listed at #2. I want my Wave of Mutilation!

Anyone who checks Target clearance, please let me know if you see Scene It or any other decent 360 pick ups. Also keep an eye on 120 gb HDDs. The 120s dropped to $125, and I hope to snag one later on around $80-100.

Circuit City Daly City clearance has a bunch of PS2 and 360 games for $25 and less. A lot of stinkers (several Maddens clogging up the PS2 bin, for one), but there were some that are pretty nice (Naruto for 360 is a good deal for that price, IMO).

Plus, if you show up during the afternoon, you might see me at the front door. ;)

RIP Circuit City in EPA! Thanks for the GTA4 and uh, that's all I can remember. I never really understood how they stayed in business with the Best Buy right next door. I guess they didn't! :lol:

Now there aren't really any Circuit Cities near me, which is sort of annoying because I still have a $10 gift card from the aforementioned GTA... but wooo, no more driving into EPA after dark!

They never asked me for an ID when I went in Summer. We did sign NDAs but it was just so casual and one person didn't show up, I'm surprised they didn't make sure it was the correct people there. My head was shaved in Summer too so the dude will never recognize me. :lol:

I think they owe me for last time for the crappy XBLA game we played and the swag bag including a game I already had. I did get a Chun Li action figure that was marked 1 out of 2000. I should see if thats worth something.

BONUS stupid story: My GPS invented a fake second Circuit City in Sunnyvale. I was like wow, who knew there was a second Circuit City just miles away! What luck! And then I got more and more confused until it directed me into some suburbs and literally into a dead end. WTF GPS. I would have been upset if it wasn't so surreal.

For some strange reason it lists two CC's in sunnyvale its the strangest thing I swear but at least if you know where it really is it isnt too confusing.

I ended up just getting mine from target for 125. These targets have been nothing but depressing with the clearance lately. That damn transfer cable taunted me and not a moment too soon. As soon as I transferred my data to my new elites 120gb hdd. My 3 year old pro finally once and for all gave me a RRoD. Thank god its covered by MS till tomorrow. Glad I was smart enough to get another 360 too.

Mmm mexican food, I love the vegetarian burritos at Tres Hermanos in Mountain View its right up the street, across the cal train tracks north of downtown mountain view. Awesome food and the liqueur store near it sells JOLT cola mmmm yummy.

For those south bay folks whats good in the sunnyvale/cupertino/santa clara area?

I've got a few places on my list I still want to try. But I need some good suggestions.

hey freaky. I had a pretty mixed experience with the PS headset. I really liked how easily it connected with the PS3, and how the mute button was huge and easy to use. Also StrandedBrit said I sounded really clear over it using the HQ mode.

Unfortunately, it was less comfortable than my previous headset, and DasFlikko (who I play stuff with more often than SB) said he could barely hear me at all, which was really weird. Also here's the big problem: quite a few times, usually when I was disconnecting it, it would freeze up the whole PS3! I have no idea why, or how to even begin fixing it, so that was the real deal-breaker.

Also half the reason I got it was because you said it fixed the mic issues in GTA4 which were ruining the game for me, and then the day after I ordered it they put out a patch that got my old headset working again! :bomb: Oh well.

I'm glad most people seem to be having better experiences with it than I did, at least. PS3 game nights need more people talking.

Your CC (and the SF store) need to clarify their use of "clearance." Both stores have racks or bins that they've labeled as "clearance," but "clearance" has a specific meaning to the Circuit City POS. As far as I can tell, only games with prices ending in .x6 are "clearance" games to the POS. So when CC has these "30% off all clearance games" sales (as they've had a few times in the past month), many or most of the games in these racks/bins are NOT getting the 30% taken off. "Isn't this a clearance game? It's in the clearance bin." "Yes, but, it's not that kind of a clearance game."

Yet another reason why CC is heading towards a prime position in front of "dodo bird" in the encylopedia of extinction.

The real question is: Is anyone going to the marathon Capcom focus test on Friday? I think it's this Friday, anyway. Whoops, it was last Friday. So did anyone go?

Someone I work with went, he said it wasn't worth taking half the day off for. I wasnt eligible to go so I told him and yeah :roll: MEGA MEH. Nothing with 5 was involved. It was something some people here have played before.

On to blackfriday talk, if someone is going to gamecrazy or is near one and wouldnt mind picking up Assassins Creed and GRAW 2 on 360 I'd appreciate it. Its buy one get one free on all new games under 19 bucks which both are.

Usually they get everyone to play some upcoming game, maybe asking them to pay attention to certain details or try something specific while they're doing it. Then at the end you get a bag of Capcom stuff. :O

I'm in the same boat Metaly. I got my game at BBV awhile back and haven't even taken the game out of the plastic yet. Rockband 2 is a much better game.

Yeah, plus I'm already kind of pot-committed with all my Rock Band DLC. :) There's no turning back!

Anyway, got the game today as part of the guitar bundle and wow, I kind of want to pick up another GHWT guitar and just toss the Strat. No more missing random notes because of that mushy strum bar!

Capcom's having a Bionic Commando/RE5 event (http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2008/12/08/come_play_bionic_commando__re_5_with_capcom)next Tuesday evening in SF. You'll be able to play the multiplayer modes in each game! I might try to make this.

It's 312am and I was reading up on the Rockband 2 Bundle on sale at TRU. Was wondering if other CAGs can update on the stock. I know that Sunnyvale is sold out (as reported by Bzchanboy). I find it pretty insane that someone got theirs for $32!!!!! :hot::hot::hot:

Sorry about the late response. PM to Fry's was unsuccessful, but Best Buy did the PM without the gift card. I was a little sneaky on my part though, went to the customer service and said if they would PM the ad. The guy agreed and said to grab the game and to bring it back to him to do it. I couldn't find it so I asked a guy in the video game section for it and I explained that I needed it to get PMed and he said that all the Toys R Us were sold out so they weren't allowing anymore PMs...but the games were up at the front. I went to the front and brought it back to the guy to see if they'll do the PM. He brought over his manager and they did it without hesitation. It was $120 after tax or ($119.XX).

Fry's at Brokaw = Unsuccessful
Best Buy at McCarthy Ranch = Successful

I'm looking for a PS3 version of Rock Band 2. As of this morning, the Sunnyvale TRU is still oos. The Winchester TRU's phones aren't working for some reason, and the TRU at blossom hill is also oos. I tried price matching it at the Best Buy next to the Sunnyvale TRU twice but they said they couldn't. The first time they said TRU must have it in stock, the second time they told me TRU got a rebate from Harmonix to sell it for that super low price (which I think is a lie). I'll try my luck at Best Buy by Santana Row later.

Alright just got back from Walmart at Story Road, SJ. I was able to price match without the gift card with no problems (just be sure to bring the flyer!)

When I left at 6:44pm, there was still 1 PS3 version and 5 xbox 360 versions of Rock Band 2. Good Luck!

I was at GameCrazy on Wednesday. I saw that they had a bunch of Wii's, so I'm guessing they should also have the Wii Fit.

Just got back from Blockbuster at Washington Square in San Leandro. They had about 8 copies of GTA IV for $14.99 in the original box. I got that and Condemned 2 in the 2 for 1 deal.

Obviously not me. It's gotten to the point where I can't even stand...well, standing there, anymore. My coworkers I'll miss. The enviroment? Not so much. It's both awesome and lame that my last day happens to be the 31st, since it's New Year's Eve, and I also have nothing planned. Yay...?

Christmas was alright, haven't exchanged gifts with friends really yet. I'm more of a giver and get small things in return but thats all good. Still haven't figured out what to do for NYE. All I know is I'm going to sleep in and probably end up throwing together a house party. Its insanely foggy right now btw.

I know there's a for sale/trade section, but I would rather deal in person if I'm not going to a legit site. PM me if u are interested in seeing what I'm selling. I got about 36 games spread across PS2, GC, and mostly Xbox. I do have one of them limited edition MGS3: Subsistence in that red box if anyone is interested...it is opened though. I bought it on a whim when my buddy at GameCrazy said someone didn't pick up their copy.

I was just at the Sunnyvale Golfland and they've gotten some cool stuff since the last time I was there (which was a while ago, sadly). They have Tekken 6 (regular), DJMAX Technika, and BlazBlue. BB didn't look like the type of fighter I'm into, but I need to go back sometime when it's less crowded and try out Technika. Also I need to brush up on my Tekken skills... I was watching some guy obliterate the CPU (and some poor guy) with Paul and figured it would just be a waste of my money.
