Question: IRC chat? [Mobile/Archive]

I know that there's a phpChat here, but I see that no one is ever in there.

I wanted to know if there's an IRC server and channel that CAG hosts, and if not, is there a possibility of creating one? (I'm not sure whether the php one runs off of IRC, as I've never used the php chat before.)

The php chat is a bit of a nuisance, since it is constantly refreshing and no one is in there whenever I look :( However, I really enjoy this site and have a great desire to chat in an IRC chatroom with other CAGs.

it would be a waste of time, you dont really need a chatroom when you are a forum and we continue to have OTT's

No it wouldn't - there are sites I chat on more than I post on. A chatroom has a much different feel than a forum. I think it would be worthwhile :)

all it is is real time forums, i dont think there is a need.

It isnt that hard to set up a IRC channel. It just needs a link that everyone can see.
