Well in our EB store today we do a daily "WTF is going on with Advent children" check and yesterday when we checked it the new date was 01/29/06. I'm assuming this it true, because usually are release dates are pretty to the point. Another store manager who claims to be the Final Fantasy afficinado says its "Because all these queers downloaded the Japanese version, and now they're redoing the entire movie" Now of course we all know he is wrong about that, because it would take forever to redo the movie.

Why would they bother redoing the movie just because some "queers" downloaded it? More importantly, why does he think three months is enough time to redo the entire thing?

It's a mystery on why Advent Children keeps getting pushed back. Maybe someone has more news than I do, though.

Exactly! Why does it matter if a lot of people downloaded it? Millions downloaded the Family Guy movie, and it had incredible sales when it came out on DVD!

This is pure speculation but I remember hearing around the time when the Japanese version leaked on the net, that they got approval to release Advent Children in US theaters. It would make sense for them to push the dvd back in order to allow time for a theater release.

Oh, umm... I think I'm one of those queers that manager was talking about. I downloaded it a while back. I had no idea what the repercussions would be, honest! I'm really sorry for ruining this for eveyone else...

They scooted it back so it won't compete with the Xbox360. I think Sony fully understands that any disposable income that hardcore gamers will have this holiday season will go toward the 360 or saving to get one. Since we've all seen the movie, there isn't much incentive for us to go and buy a bare bones version of Advent Children. Maybe it'll come out with some bad ass extras like an overview of every Final Fantasy that ever came out. Maybe that PS3 tech demo of the FFVII will also appear on the movie. Hopefully, there will be so much on the discs that people won't even be posting about if for at least a few hours....

It's a great time to be a cheap ass gamer.

I dunno about that. I don't know a lot of JRPG fans that are also Xbox fans. It's not exactly the console of RPGs, after all...especially not JRPGs.

Exactly, everyone who wanted to see it already saw it. Hell I saw it over a month ago.
