Just found out about this from Gamefaqs. It's suppose to come out next week (October 26) and it's suppose to have lots of stuff about the characters, concept art, etc. Looks pretty good considering I'm an RE nut. Only thing is that the book is kinda expensive IMO ($29.99). Anyone else thinking of picking it up? Gamestop has a brief listing if you want to check it out.

I'm a big fan of RE series. Every since the day I went to a store and bought the directors cut greatest hit and I remember I bought it mainly for the box art and then I played it and loved it. Then a little after I beat the 1st one. I found the second one at a blockbuster for 8 bucks in mint shape. My point if its worth $30 I will buy it when its $15.

After many delays, the guide finally got released. Just picked mine up today and it's fuckin awesome! Well worth the money if you're an RE fan. It's like a huge version of a Bradygames guide. My only gripe is that it doesnt talk about RE4, only RE0-CV.

I thumbed through this Monday at EB. It's a beautiful soft cover book, not guide length but nearly coffee table book thick. The artwork and layout are absoultely beautiful. I'm not a huge RE fan but I recognize a quality publication when I see it. It's up to individual buyers if it's worth $30. If BB decides to stock it it's guaranteed to be the most sought after penny trade on CAG.

I picked it up yesterday. It's a great resource for anyone is a fan of the series. Take note it only covers all the RE games from the main storyline before RE4. There's even some RE 1.5 stuff!

Glad I got it, well worth the 30.

I got this book a few days ago. Beware a lot of stuff is missing. The website (Bradygames) claims that it covers every RE game, but it is missing the outbreak games, RE4, dead aim and the others. The site also claims it covers the two movies, which it does not. Many of the screenshots are very small and doesn't go into detail about the making of the games. I would have loved to have seen more technical information about how they made the series (like what programs they used, what problems they had to over come to make it work on certain systems and so on). At the end they have a lot of useless information on viruses that made it feel like the missing stuff SHOULD have been in that section, but instead we get that crap. Its an ok book with lots of color pictures, but be prepaired to be missing a lot of stuff :(

Looks nice -- I'll have to check it out.

I think somebody who has this should scan a page or two to show the people who don't have it yet what they're missing. ;)

If you look at the 2nd picture, it says "Umbrella Resident Evil Countermeasure Service". Obviously, they used Excel or some other program that turns all the words that say "biohazard" to "resident evil".

Hi guys and i hope you don't mind me jumping in. I'm the designers on the Western version of the REA book and I'm glad to see that some of you appreciate it at one level or another. As for a mistake like the above all I can say is 'argh'. I know we worked hard on the book and it sucks that things like that get past us.

Fwiw - the book is definitely a direct translation from the Japanese version. Ours was condensed by 40 some-odd pages but our page size was a bit larger height and width wise. If you haven't seen the Japanese version you should - it's awesome.

We did use a 'search and replace' function to find all the instances of Biohazard as well as several other terms and acronyms. But we did so in Adobe's InDesign rather than an Excel doc.

Why did I decide to post here? This was my first major project for Brady and I'm pretty proud of it - it's also kind of fun to see people's comments on your work as well.

Well you've done an amazing job on the production value of the book. I'll agree with the others that some of the content was a bit disappointing, but given that it was a direct translation from the Japanese text, I'll forgive your part in that. The printing quality and overall layout and design is superb. Reading the multi-game storyline like a book has become a new train hobby for me. Congrats!

It's certainly worth checking out at the least. I'll try it on Tuesday after I come from class. BTW, is it just me or does the police chief and the mayor's daughter from RE2 bear a striking resemblence to Haggar and Jessica from Final Fight?

I really wish this book would pricedrop, I think I'd be willing to pay at most $10 for this since it is pretty thick, but at a penny would be nice too! :)
