Why does this site slow down every once in a while? especially in the evenings?

I was wondering the same thing. I thought it was just my server at work.

It's a free site and the server is getting overloaded. I swear we have a topic like this every 2 weeks

There's a thread dealing with this in another forum. It's because of the hosting company, if I'm not mistaken. It's running slow for me at the moment.

Yes, the server is getting served. Just a few days longer on this box.
I'm sure it will take us a bit to get the new box configured to its maximum potential, but it should be a big improvement.

So, No CAG for a few days, then? Heh, I bet everyone's got a secondary forum set up already...
No CAG means it's time for a South Park reference:
"But... what will become of us?!"
"Goddamnit, Sanchez! Quit being so melodramatic!"

Where does he say no CAG for a few days? He just said the current will only be around for a few more days, then we move to the new one. We do have a backup forum that quite a few CAGs know to go to when things go down for extended periods of time.

Well, I assumed that he was going to take CAG offline for a little while until he sets up the new server. Unless it's going to be an instantaneous switch-over...
So, what's the deal with a backup forum anyway? Where/what is it?

I don't think it takes a few days to switch servers, just maybe a few hours and then some tweaking.
As for the back-up forum, a bunch of us went to gametour.com since defender owns that forum. Or Cheapy could get that chat going to keep people busy during it, though I'm not sure if it could work during the switch.

Yes, I notice this a lot, hopefully the new server will solve CAG's problem, but this will no way stop me from coming here at all.

I notice this too sometimes. It takes a really long time to load and then sometimes the forums don't show up.
