Have you ever bought a game and it came an addiction, because you wanted to complete something in the game that was driving you nuts?

I think this just happen to me, i was playing my xbox and playing
http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/1820/chasex1tg.jpg

And in the game you have to unlock 19 prizes, and thus far i have unlock 11/19 and on one them i have to Keep a average of 155mph on each racing/chase stage and i did this on 5 of them, but i am having so much trouble in the 3rd chase level called: Escape.

I know what to do, but i was just playing my xbox for 4 hours str trying to beat it and no such luck  I do plan on trying again tho, but man was it fun , my xbox was like a drug and i couldnt stop.

I'm playing through Lady Sia on my GBA right now...and i dont know why. The control is bad, the story is incoherent and the levels are retarded...yet when i put down Lost in blue/Trauma Center, i pick up my SP and start playing. Just that urge to beat it is too strong (crap...that's gonna suck out of context...)

Well shit... i coulda read what forum i was in, or possibly make a connection between "Addiction from and xbox game..." to it...but no. im a dumbass.

Now that ive corrected myself: Jet Set Radio Future. I would not stop playing that game until i had every Graffiti soul/spirit/tag in that game. Otherwise there wasnt much on Xbox that got me that into a game.

Everyone i talked to said enter the matix was crap, but i have the game and i was addicted to that game too. I didnt stop until i finsh the game with both characters, but i have to say it bored and i got sick of playing the game when i got to the last level, with that damn ship shooting part. That part is the only flaw in the game, its so bored i think it might of put me in a coma for 12 or 20 years.

Enter the matrix is one of the best xbox games i own, i like the fighting and slow motion thing, very cool.

Yeah, just saw you on right after I finally finished the game up. I was halfway through the War chapter, but unfortunately, from then on, it goes way too fast. Best part of the game, too.

Chase is the Stuntman type game right? I really liked Stuntman so I might give this a try if I find it somewhere.

san andreas: i rented it over thanksgiving weekend (4 days off) and put in +24 hours... that was an amazing rush

World of Warcraft was always just a "hey i have some free time, I should be leveling up"

Ive also gone crazy over Morrowind, but that was replaced with World of Warcraft

KOTOR was my biggest gaming addiction ever. Right now though I'm playing through Beyond Good & Evil. It's fun, but I wouldn't call it addicting.

I was really into Phantom Dust when it came out, but I haven't played since the 2nd patch. Some people/strategies were just too annoying to deal with, though some people were really cool to play with.

Definatly KOTOR II... i beat that game i think 5 times in a month... i'd finish it and just start over... and over. tweaking my game a bit here and a bit there. i'd start another game too but i just don't have the time right now.

anticipating lan parties and fiending for some good slayers, ahhh those were the days.
now we can all get our fix readily with live, but still addicting never the less.

Burnout 3 is like crack to me. I'll be getting Revenge tomorrow, but it will remain unopened til I finish (complete all races, not get all golds) Burnout 3.

I've been addicted to many video games over the last 19 years, though. Probably my most addicting were Halo 2 on Live and, the game that is pretty muchlike chocolate chip crack, Chu Chu Rocket on Dreamcast online. I didn't sleep much during my sophomore year of high school dueto that game.

PSO. Damn I was addicted to this game for a long time. I reached lvl 184 with one character and 167 with another. Needless to say I spent hundreds of hours on XBL. Someone once told me that lvl 180 is really the half way point to lvl 200.

Jesus Christ! I lovethe game, but have played maybe 40 games at most, and only 2 online.

Wanna kick my ass on Live sometime? I need to play as my Sox again since they're in the Series.

Any RPG that I've liked should be called an addiction since they all require upwards of 40+ hours to beat them. You can never go wrong with a good RPG as an addiction. Money well worth it.

yeah i only play on xbox live..rarely on my franchise anymore...their ranking system is weak though...doesn't make sense ..i win like 8 or 10 in a row and ranking barely improves...also whoever plays MVP online i notice there's more cheaters now..it sucks because they mess with the meter by freezing it..i guess they mess around with their router or something...i play fair and for fun and these idiots always try to cheat now...some dude i played is ranked 20th overall and i was winning by 2 runs and started cheating in the last inning and i eventually lost because he kept freezing it while i was pitching...dont play MEXICAN ELMO he's a cheater..along with alot others

I get easily addicted to sports games (mostly baseball and football) so I try to avoid them.

Here are some Xbox games that I have been addicted to since I bought my Xbox a year and a half ago:

KOTOR & KOTOR 2
Fable
Halo 2
Star Wars Battlefront
The Punisher
X-Men Legends I & II
MVP Baseball 2005
Battlefield 2 Demo

I've only opened one of my 8 games from the TRU sale, but I can already tell I'll be addicted. NBA 2K6 on Live is incredible. 2K5 was good, but this one smokes it, despite being similar.

I'm sure Burnout revenge will hook me, too.

The only 2 games I have really put a lot of time into were PGR2 and Forza. I had all golds on PGR 2 and I was working towards getting all platinums. On Forza I was a level 47 or 48. Then during a race in Forza my xbox crapped out on me and I had to send in it to get repaired. It came back with a deleted hard drive. I spent 25 hours on each of those games.

Psychonauts, Jade Empire and Indigo Prophecy for me. Once I started playing each of those, I didn't play anything else until I was finished.

Psychonauts and Jade Empire were 2 games I bought and played for 5 hours or so, enjoyed the hell out of, then lost interest and began playing something else. I need to go back to those.

No matter how bad I get my ass handed or how much I scream when I am defeated on Live, I keep coming back to 3rd strike on the Xbox. It's the only game that has caused me to shatter a controller from rage.

I also used to play the tar out of Culdcept before all my fellow Cepters moved away from the area. Now I just play it every once in awhile hoping for just one more Conjurer card.

I also just received SimCity for the SNES (the BEST version, I don't care what you PC people say). Since then for about 6 days I have been playing it about 2-6 hours a day hoping to achieve Megalopolis. I was never able to achieve that in my youth.

You suck, dude. I have all these new games and now you're making me crave Sim City. *goes to find SNES* (recently moved)

Wrong Chase. You are thinking of Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver. Maximum Chase is this god awful game that is half driving (kind of like felony 11-79, if anyone remembers that) and on rails shooter (sort of like Operation Wolf, with a D-pad, and no where near as good). It has horrific FMV scenes. This was the first game developed by the Japanese branch of MS internal development. It was like someone who didn't really understand english made a game that was trying to be a Hollywood action movie, without really understanding much about them. With all that said, I love this game. It is so bad, you have to. The driving part is actually pretty fun, the shooting is not, but you HAVE to play through it just to see the horrible FMV sequences. As for the most addicting x-box game: yeah I'd probably say KOTOR too. I did nothing but sleep besides playing until I finished that game, and didn't do a whole lot of that. As for longest running addiction: NHL 2004. I have over 1000 games played in the two plus years it's been out. This is probably primarily because it was the last decent hockey game released. I bought 2005 and 2k5, and hated both for different reasons. I've not bothered with either this year, but will at least check out 2k6 on the 360 when it is released.
