my question and I think it is one of the most important ones:

Everyone wants to save money. Japanese residents are not unlike us. When you get your bearings, in a year or a few years, or whenever, will there be a Japanese CAG. But more so, will you look into the possibilites and keep your eye on the store ads in Japan? Clearance sales? There must be a way to tap into that community that is just like us. This in the future will bring us here the best deals Japan has to offer each week for hard to find items. This is the globalization of CAG and I'd be dissapointed if we don't evolve into that.

Is Cheapy concerned that he may lose interest in the site, since he will not be able to take part in most of the deals? Or is the site still exciting for him to check up on? If I was in his situation, I think I would gradually lose interest in keeping the site up to date and eventually just sell it off to the highest bidder. That bidder would then decide to put a lot of flash based adds over two-thirds of the pages to capitalize on his investment. Then that bidder would get tired of dealing with the complaints and sell the site to CNET.

2 Questions:

In this past cagcast you mentioned the PSP load times which I can't stand either. Do you guys ever feel as if gaming hardware design is going backwards? Being a gamer since the days of the 2600 there's just something to be said about turning the power on and playing. I just find it really odd that the xbox hard drive which was a good way to reduce loading times is now an option with the 360.

You also mentioned Gametap and XBOX Live Arcade which you thought were good ideas. Do you think the downloadable old-school Nintendo games will help the Revolution? I like the idea of having 20 years of games under the hood of one system. It's obvious with all of the collections and services like gametap there is definitely a market for old-school gaming goodness. I sort of agree with Wombat though about paying for it...I think I would rather pay say $5 to a download a game (ex: gauntlet on the xbox 360) once rather than $15 a month for the rest of my life to play what I want to. Especially since I could probably pick up an old system and a game on the cheap.

When I was 7 years old and wanted The Legend of Zelda, I had to kick out $50 for it. When I was a teenager and wanted to play Final Fantasy 3 I paid $50 for that. Playstation came out and FF7 was $50. Ps2 games... Xbox games... $50.

So how is it that video games have been the same price for the last 20+ years and just now they need to raise the cost. I think development costs for Halo 2 were a bit higher than Deadly Towers. I just don't buy their argument.

Judging from the *ahem* original advertising (read models in bikinis) campaign, Sony Japan seems to be tapped out of ideas promoting the PSP. Do you (CheapyD) see any possibility of the PSP matching the DS' popularity in Japan, be it through any future killer app titles, collectors' editions, hardware redesigns, etc.? Why is it so popular to begin with? It seems like everyone and their mother (literally) has a DS in the articles I've read.

Have you kept up to date w/the debate about laws limiting games and how that implicates the right of free speech? Do you know what all the legal right to free speech contains and how it has been viewed by our courts? If not, I would be happy to point you to a few great articles on the subject (little plug here - I even wrote a law review article about games, free speech and the US, Japan and German laws).

And if your comment was not based on law, but how in your ideal world how things should be, could you please further explain why you believe the federal or state governments should step in to regulate something like games. Do you believe this is honestly a proper place for government?

I waited in line for the 360 and listened to some of the WORST crap I have ever heard. I will ask my question in a Stewie Griffin's Compliment Sandwich style. First a compliment then an area of improvement followed by another compliment and then my real question:

Something positive...something positive... Oh. Wombat looks like a Care Bear and it makes me smile.

Something negative. You have smelly Wombat farts.

Something positive...You really wowed those guys from Chatterbox."

Now my real question: Wombat, why do you keep your Xbox 360 when you sold your PSP for the same sort of reasons like lack of games or etc? I know you paid a hefty price tag but the PSP wasn't that cheap either it feels like you give the 360 more of a chance but doesn't make sense without the quality titles or graphics.
