So yesterday, I was bored as hell and swung by GameCrazy. Turns out that they were giving out a lot of free stuff, just things from previous preorders or little promo stuff that they don't need. Wound up with:
Mega Man Clock (One of those circular monsters with legs/pods, you can hang the clock upside down and it'll readjust itself)
Mega Man pin
Metroid Prime 2 shirt
Nintendo wristband
Digital Devil Saga 2 soundtrack (still sealed)
Sub Zero card (From the PS2 Premium Pack of Deception, i'm trying to get all five bonus discs/cards.. just need Raiden and Baraka, PM me if you'd be willing to get rid of them)
Ada Wong 3" figure from RE4
Needless to say, I was pretty happy.
After class, swung by the post office and picked up Spikeout: Battle Street (pretty decent game), then headed back over to GameCrazy because they were supposed to get in the 360 today, and I had to return some movies to Hollywood Video. No 360 today, but I did manage to get a promo Soul Calibur 3 t-shirt.
Then I get a call from an employee at EB. As you know, they're getting rid of a bunch of older game items, and this particular EB had just gotten in a shipment. My findings? Power Stone and Power Stone 2, both mint and complete. The price? $12.99 for PS1, $19.99 for PS2. Combine that with the 50% off and the edge and whatnot, the total wound up being $15.31. For both of them. $7.65 for each Power Stone? Hell yeah.
When I went to get it, I was also given a huge box of promo items. As if PS1 and PS2 for $15 wasn't sweet enough. The box contained a lot of flyers, mostly one page game ads, but there were some cool things in there..
Would Championship Poker playing cards
THQ frisbee
huge Teen Titans poster
Datel bottle opener
Atlus "Imagination Realized" somethingorother
AutoAssault demo + t-shirt
City of Villains beta
Matrix Online (since it went down to a penny today)
Sony bag
Huge Capcom cloth thing advertising the upcoming games
Spartan: Total Warrior t-shirt
Activision upcoming titles shirt
RE4 PS2 demo
The Movies "Videos, Movies and Trailers"
Maxim Hot 100 2005
FHM Blitz: The League calender
Flyer advertisements for companies like THQ and Agetec
Flyer advertisements for games like Animaniacs, ZOOO (Zoo Keeper for GBA?), Star Wars: Empire at War, Resident Evil 4, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (awesome), and other Capcom games like Megaman 5, Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble (PSP) , Without Warning, Megaman Zero 4, and Devil Kings. More game flyers like City of Villains, AutoAssault, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Frantix (PSP), Field Commander, Disney's ToonTown online, Gripshift, Wild Arms 4, and Kingdom Hearts II.
Not done. *deep breath*
SNK Playmore had their own folder full of advertisements for MS4 & 5, KOF 02/03, Samurai Showdown V, KOF 94 Rebout, KOF Neowave, Metal Slug for GBA.
Rockstar supplied a glossy book for The Warriors, full of information and pictures. There's also a PSP-Shaped GTA Liberty City Stories book, full of pictures and info. Majesco threw in a bunch of Infected stickers. Sony threw in a Q4 book, as well as a PSP Lanyard. There's a Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare.. something. It looks like a mousepad but it's way too big to be one. There's also an MK: Shaolin Monks strategy guide.
And to finish off this box of promo stuff, a Chun-Li limited edition bust (still sealed), a keychain light from Pelican so bright that it could probably rival the north star, a 2 DVD set from Namco (50th anniversary), a sweet Nintendo DS keychain (says Nintendo DS on one side, picture of it on the other), and a black leather wristband (I think it's leather, anyway, I haven't/won't open it) for Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge, and it has Jack's face on it.
So.. yeah. Lots of free stuff and both Power Stone games for a total of $15. Not a bad two days.
