I was uninstalling some applications i dont use, then i uninstalled style xp which i had used for themes and stuff. I uninstalled it, then my desktop theme was the blue one with the xp wallpaper. I went into my setting to change it to windows classic, so there is that plain taskbar, and then everything turned black except for the icons, and buttons, andthe wallpaper. So currently, everything thats usually like, blue by default, is now solid black

let me screen cap it

so everything thats normally gray when its under windows classic, is black, solid unreadable black. you actually cant see the buttons, only the icons. I was lucky to be able to click randomly, on the display settings and got a wallapaper, instead of solid black like it was

try booting to safe mode, then do a roll back by a day or two. If you can get back to normal. start deleting 1 program at a time, followed by a reboot each time you uninstall a program and see if one program is the cause.

Seems like along with your themes your erased your original whatever they ares. A surefire way to fix this is to repair your windows isntallation. It will not erase anything but just overwrite all windows files so none of your data is lost.

To do this(in case you don't know) : boot from your Windows cd(or recovery disks from comp manufacturer) and select repair. Then just let it run. Everything should be alright after this. Do not worry about erasing your data as if you do by accident choose to do that it will ask you several times if you are sure if you want to format the drive.

Ah, I see. Display Properties > Appearance > Advanced. Dropdown to Window option. It's probably set to black. Set it to white. Bingo.
