Well, on the laptop (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?p=1002378#) now, but my problem is making me very angry.

I have an old Sony VAIO (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?p=1002378#) RX770, and I recently maxxed out its memory, got a new HDD, and a new video and sound card (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?p=1002378#),... well, the case is a mini ATX, so I needed a larger case.
I opted for the Newegg bargain bin case; the Aspire X-Dreamer (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?p=1002378#) 2.

OK,.... the reviews say, that the PSU is either broken, or goes shortly thereafter, but I took a shot. I moved everything over, into the new case, now, I go to power it up, nothing. There is no diagram for the power header, where the pins from the case goes on Sony's (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?p=1002378#) website, and Aspire's site sucks majorly.

Well,... by trying to reference my old cable, and matching the pins up, I became confused. There are different colored wires, and no identifiers on the mobo. So, I've been swapping them around all night.
No power.

Then, I figured I'd cann my old PSU, and hook in the old connector with the old power switch.
NOTHING!

What is going on?
Did I wreck something, or what?

The only thing I noticed that was different with the PSUs, is a 3 pin female adapter is not on the new PSU,... which would hook into the AUX slot, right next to the 20 pin main header.

Please help,.... I'm out of luck, knowledge, and money.

Is the board seated in the new case now? If so, remove it & try to power it up - it may be touching part of the case & shorting out.

Well... not sure if that would short it out. It came with board seats, which are copper, and they attach right to the case.
There are small cloth washers as well, but theyre so thin, I dont think they would separate them that much.

I can give it a whirl though, as I have no options left.

If it is something that ridiculous, I'll slap myself.
I really appreciate the suggestion, and will keep you posted.

While Im putting the washers and lifts on, any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
:)

Best thing to do is to take the motherboard out of the case completly but keep the power button connected. Then hook up a power supply, make sure you connect the 20 pin connector and the 4 pin one. Don't connect anything else. Just CPU, Heatsink and fan, ram and power supply.

Yes, this is what I was getting at, but it was early and I wasn't quite coherent yet. ;) Always strip everything down to the bare necessities to boot, and see if it will power on there (outside of the case). If it does, add parts back on one at a time.

Sorry it took so long.
CAG was being goofy the last couple of nights.

Well,.... you were ABSOLUTELY right!!

Thanks,,, without the mobo pegs, the Firewire jack was wedged onto the case. Also, my cards were only 1/3 way plugged in, because of the uneven install I did.

My first cann didn't go so bad, thanks to you.
Now, though, I'm getting an error during boot. I F4'd to see if a config was bad, but it looks sound to me.
I have to F1 it to start Windows, but I'm fine with that.

My DVD drive isn't working either, but luckily, I ordered a new unit, which is working great.
Hopefully, I'll get the urge to fix that problem one day,... I just have no idea why it wouldn't work now, as I planned to copy DVD to DVD.

Well, thanks for the help!!!
I appreciate it.
