the search function isnt working, i know this thread exists ten fold.

im looking at the x600xt/x600pro up to the x800 on the ati line
and the 6600gt on the nvidia line.

i want to be able to play half-life 2 doom3 and fear on higher settings with a very playable framerate, i wont spend more than $150 (which all of those are under)

so, how do they comapre? i cant find a site that had a comarison benchmark on all of them so if anybody can link it thatd be good.

me too, for the money i recall its numbers being the best across the board. i dont recall where the other fell into that though, the 600pro is about $40 less the x800 is a few bucks more it used to be a lot more though

Get the 6600GT. You'd have to get the x800 from ATi to get comparable performance, and at a higher price. I'm running a 6600GT, and play all the latest games (granted, I have the other specs to back the vid card) with ease.

There are tons of comparisons. Check anandtech.com or google 6600gt review.

I love my x800... I'll never go back to Nvidia again.

Omega Drivers are insanely awesome, as well.

Hell yeah the Omega drivers rock!

I doubt you will be able to FEAR at the highest settings on any card around $150. This game is what I currently belive to be the most taxing one out there. That aside my friend has a 6600 Gt and its rather nice but i would go with something in the X800 line. ATI cards are great overclockers so if you are into that go ATI.
