View Full Version : Which LIVE games allow more than one player per XBOX?

One of my favorite features about Halo 2 is that if I have a friend over, we can both jump on LIVE with a split screen and play a bunch of human opponents. I wish more games included this "guest" feature.

I realize this simply isn't practical for certain games. But for a bunch of games, especially co-op ones like Xmen Legends or Battlefront, it would be nice to add a "buddy on the couch" to the mix - giving you the best of both worlds, when it comes to online and offline multiplayer.

So what games have it? The only ones I know for sure are:

-Halo 2
-TimeSplitters: Future Perfect

I'm sure there are more. Some of the other games I've mentioned might even have it, but I haven't played them yet.

I would like to know this too. The only one I was aware of was Halo 2.

What about X-Men Legends 2?

How can you get two people online with halo2?

it says only in unranked games, so how do I find an unranked game? we just tried it about a month ago and gave up.

Mechwarrior I know allows it.

You need to pick the "unranked gametypes". They are as follows: Rumble Training, Team Training, & Team Snipers

Edit: Any custom (user created) gametypes work as well

IMO the Halo 2 Live menus are counterintuitive as hell, so you're not alone. I've always felt that labelling unranked games "training" was pretty confusing.

EDIT: klwillis45 beat me to it

Mechassault 1 and 2, but you will get booted out of most rooms. People with guests are awful players 99% of the time and nobody wants to deal with it.

You could both use your own gamertags and headsets on splitscreen, and not appear as guests, but they'll know you're on the same Xbox if they're paying attention, and they might boot you. But most won't, as long as you both have headsets.

So is it just a bunch of snobs that play MechAssault online or what?

And you can actually have two gamertags signed in for that one? That's pretty cool!

I wish Halo 2 allowed two Gamertags on one screen playing in ranked games... :(

It does. My brother and I do it every day. We just got done playing 20 minutes ago. We like to play Double Team and Team Hardcore mostly.

Wait. So the two of you were playing on the same television, on the same Xbox, with two different Gamertags, and you were in ranked games? I tried this a while back with my roomate, and we couldn't get it to work.

I believe you can do that with Top Spin in Doubles matches, but I'm not positive on that.

Both Gamertags have to be registered on the same Xbox. Just putting that out there.

Well shit. I'll dig up a couple of two monthers and give it a shot...thanks guys!

EDIT: Can I have two two monthers on the same credit card...at the same time?

I originally registered my gamertag on my own Xbox. I then sold my Xbox and setup my account on my brother's Xbox.

I'm not sure about the credit card question Rig. It might work, or they might check for it.

Send me a friend request if you wanna try some double team, or anything really. My name: WearYourPanties

Yup. I had 4 on my CC at one time (bunch of 2-month trials for friends without CCs). I think the limit is 9 at any given time on one CC.

Mechassault is extremely competitive when its a room of experienced players. Nobody likes to deal with children or guests, guests are almost universally horrible. If you find a room of newbies, or mediocre players that like to play against newbies, you'll be ok.

Oh, okay. I had heard it was ten two month trials on one credit card...overall. (Meaning after ten two month cards, you'd need to use a new credit card..)

Thanks for the help guys. I'll be setting up a couple Gamertags soon!

I've always felt that labelling unranked games "training" was pretty confusing. Not really, if you read the descriptions that appear on screen when you move the selection over the playlist, it will tell you if its ranked or not (at least I'm pretty sure it does, I havent looked at them forever because I already know whether all of the playlists are ranked or not)
