I played the demo that was on the Episode 3 disc last night. They tease you with a total of about 4 minutes of gameplay. Its just enough for you to go holy shit this is awesome but not enough to last you any amount.

I was thinking about it as well...the first one was good, but it wasn't great imo online..if it is just ok, I don't need it as i still play halo 2, and have far cry to get into on live

Oh man I still have not even touched my copy for Farcry, forgot all about it's online play. Also I agree BF wasn't that great IMO ethier. Prob just the hype of Star Wars.
Edit: Can't pick it up today, so prob will end up waiting it off till I see a deal.

I'm broke, so I won't be picking this up. I'll definitely rent it, though. I wonder if Hollywood has it out already because of ROTS, or if they will put it out Friday as usual with new games.

I played single player and it's pretty fun. I don't really like the flying missions though.....kinda boring at times. You can skip them though in single player mode if you want. That's nice. I'lll jump on LIVE later.

I don't like it, and that sucks, because I love Battlefront.
What went wrong? Everything. I hate the menu, I hate the level select in Instant Action, I hate the loading screen (I LOVED the 'zoom-in' they did in the first), I hate the flying sequences (wow, you can get in a vehicle, fire, and do a barrel roll. REVOLUTIONARY!), I hate those stupid fucking enemies in the deathstar that go invisible and kill you, and it was cool getting killed by Luke once but the secon, third and fifteenth times sucked. More often than not, I got a sense of panic, a "what the hell do I do!?" feeling.. that's not bad, Call of Duty 2 proves that that's not a bad feeling, but with Call of Duty 2, you had a main sense of what was going on.. on these levels, there's like fourty five people running every which way in a small area and you're trying to figure out what to do. The removal of a prone position hurts, but not as much as the spine of the game.. who's bright idea was it to make that shit bright yellow?
Maybe i'll think different after a second time, but I doubt it. I don't see myself keepin' this one, i'll probably get a 360 game with it at Rhino or something.
..but it has nice music.

I saw the commercial on T.V... I actually laughed at how bad it looked. ;o
Looks as though TeamXbox gives it a big ol' 9 (http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox/1038/Star-Wars-Battlefront-II/p1/). Looks like a 6 (tops) to me.

Anyone have voice chat issues in Battlefront 2? Last night when 3 of my friends and I were on, we'd have one or two of us unable to hear. They can be heard though. We are all on the same side. It comes and goes. Some games it works and others it doesn't.
Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem.

I played it yesterday and had no problem hearing everyone crying about how they liked the first one better than the second. :roll:
I don't like the game especially the outer space level, the controls just don't feel right for a shooter. Mine will be going back in a couple weeks for credit torwards a 360 game. Thank god for GR and the trade 2 deal that lets you pretty much "rent" for free. :D
It's back to BF2:MC for me.....

I'm glad Rhino lets you bring it back if it sucks. It's frustrating to hear how the "can't hear anyone" bug is back. I'll keep it another day or two then return it.

Yeah, I couldn't hear a friend whenever we played, even though we were on the same team. To my knowledge, it was never fixed on the first one, but when a sequel comes around, you've got to assume that bugs from the first one are gone.

I'm about to take this game back. I'm more excited about taking it back than I was picking it up.

Out of the four times I played Battlefront on Live (the first one), I was never able to hear the people on my team, nor were they able to hear me (I called their cell phone in the middle of the game to see if it was a problem on my end). Dunno about Battlefront 2, I don't really want to take it on Live.. My controller b0rked so I took it back for a refund and picked up Jade Empire LE.. gonna pick up a fancy schmancy controller with the Battlefront 2 credit.

Also, I was playing on LIVE and the sound went out. No music, No SFX, nothing. I could still hear people chat....but not sfx. I thought it would just be for ONE round....nope, continued to the next. I quit after that. I'll keep it for a bit, but this, along with Battlefield 2 will probably be my next trade 2 in at GAMERUSH. I too, Love GR.

Ok, I played a little more tonight....I gave it a second chance. It was a bit better this time around. No REAL lag...at least nothing as bad as before. It still was just ok. Seems like the first one, but a little better. I'll keep it until the 21st probably ;)
I really want to like this game....I just got this and Battlefield2 also. I'm not really impressed with either. I played them about the same amount now.

I'm glad that everyone seems to think this game is sub-par. That means it'll hit the $5-10 bargain bins that much sooner and I don't see myself spending more than that. :lol:

I was a beta tester for this on the computer and I must say, its more like just an upgrade in the series:
Better Graphics (PC VERSION)
Space Fights
Leaders (You can be Yoda/Darth Vader etc.)
Episode 3 is included now too.
I'd say if your a pc gamer get this but don't get the battlefront I unless you get it for like 5 bucks and want it for collecting.

I picked it up when I went to work today. I have a gift card for walmart so I used that to pay for it. I still haven't opened it yet, and I will probably just take it back now and use the gift card on a 360 game. Most likely Elder Scrolls IV or Full Auto.

I played a few matches on Live last night, and I had a pretty enjoyable time. It's strange because I can see a lot of stuff that just isn't polished and there was quite a bit of lag, but it's still fun to just run around in large Star Wars battles. Getting to be Yoda or Darth and just run around and kill insignificant characters as they try to run from you is really fun. I'll probably pick this up used at GR either this week or next, when a bunch of people trade it in. They definitely could have cleaned up and tightened a lot of stuff in this game, but it has a high enough fun factor that I can live with some of the downsides.

WTF!? No one liked it? I just started playing last night and I totally loved it. I did own the first one for a couple days and traded it back. Didnt think to much of it but this one I cant put down. Its so much fun. I didnt experience any lag and we were playing with a lot of people. I seriously think that some of you should give it a chance before you return it without playing it.
Does the lack of crouch/prone do anything to the game. I havn't played it but w/o crouch/prone I feel the game would end up being the same as giving a bunch of headless chickens shotguns and watching them run around.

Heres a few tips I got from gamefaqs for Xbox live play. Hopefully it'll help some of you out.
The first is to wait 30 seconds - a minute before joining a game. They said that it takes a while for the true ping to show up for the games.
The second has to do with the mic problems. Some people said that if you do space battle and the communications tower gets shot down, then you won't be able to talk to your teammates. Others also added that if the mic is messing up, then just unplug it and replug it back here.
Here is what someone said about their fix for the mic.
i noticed that in every game I join I can only hear the other people through the tv. So what I do is unplug the mic and then replug it and then I can hear everything through the mic again.
I'm sorry if this isn't very helpful for any of you. I hope it does help some of you out though.

Last I heard crouch is still in the game. I think prone was the only thing taken out.

I finally opened my game up after debating on keeping it or taking it back. So far I'm having a blast. I did some of the campaign, and then jumped to instant action. I never owned the first battlefront, so that is probably why I like this one so much.

Correct. You can still crouch. The sniper rifle doesn't even zoom in twice now though.. so.. that sucks. Took mine back, though.. gotta stay in focus, save up credit/money for PD:Z, COD2, etc..

You can zoom in twice with the sniper rifle. It's like Halo 2, you click once to zoom in once, then click again to zoom in twice.

Yeah, to clarify, I saw Scorch's post last night and didn't feel like making a reply to it at the time since it was getting late. I played a few games of BF2 this morning and got on here to post that you could zoom twice, but you had already beat me to it :)
Anyways, which map do you like the best? I'm really digging the Death Star map. I wish Lucas Arts would have put Vader as the hero for the empire on there instead of the Emperor.

I like Naboo. My favorite class is the Engineer with the shotty. Nothing better than to pump enemies full of laser then drop a couple of health + ammo packs.

Ok, first of all, scratch out all the negative things you've heard about this game. This game is very fun, not mediocre at all like what everybody's been saying. The game shines on Xbox Live. Whenever I play on Dedicated servers, I find 32 player servers 90% of the time when I optimatch. Also note that these 32 player servers has very, VERY minimum lag. When it comes to online play, I can't stand any slowdowns or lag such as those found in the R6 games. I think this game is great and should be worth a purchase, if not at least a rental.

I'm having a helluva good time playing offline, and from what I've read on gamefaqs, the xbox live servers are running great. Like ricebo1 said, this game is worth a purchase or a rental at least. This game is awesome, especially if you are any kind of star wars fan.

Some of the snipers zoom in twice. It depends on your army. The armies that only zoom in once have, I believe, two extra shots in the clip. The one that zooms in twice only has 4 shots.
My roommates and I played this game in 4 player split screen for about 6 straight hours last night.
Haven't had this much fun with a multiplayer game since Goldeneye.
