I own one of these and I can say that it is a great deal. I bought the previous version (gmini400) for $300 and it was worth every penny. I haven't ordered from this site, but they seem to have a decent rating (however it looks like they only have about 10 ratings total): http://www.resellerratings.com/seller8978.html

Its an unofficial site run by a community of gmini owners. The older model that I have (gmini400) has been hacked thanks to users on that site and I can now play SMS and Game Gear emulators.

Looks like a nice multimedia player, but looks more like a game system than anything else :P

yea, reminds me of GBA micro. I guess thats why it is great for hackers. That's what made it stand out from all other DAPs for me; it was its horizontal orientation.

My brother dropped around $600 on the 60 or 80 (forgot which) gig Archos player and the harddrive crapped out in 2 weeks. Yeah, 2 weeks. Barely used.

They basically screwed him over. Couldn't get a refund or get it placed.

Take it for what you will, but I wouldn't buy any Archos player after that.

It is a better option than the iPod. My friend has one, its sooo much better.

indeed. I am not really a fan of the ipods. They are not bad, but IMO, they are overpriced and most people get them as a fashion statement. I was impressed by the new video ipod though. 30GB and added video support for the same price ($299), not a bad deal. Haven't seen it in action so I don't know how the quality fares yet.

EDIT: btw, you should tell your friend about http://www.gmini400.com . Great place for anything gmini. If he has the older model, he can play emulators on his gmini.
