Heres the deal: My bro's...ex...er.. work friend? ... whatever, a guy he knows from work, has an Xbox, bought 2 months ago.
7 Games, 1 Controller S and a wireless.
Doom 3, Silent Hill 4, Red Dead Revolver, Still Life, Fight Night (R2 I dont know), Morrowind, Enter the Matrix
125$ Flat.
worth it? Xbox was barely used. No XBox live or any extras, just the usual cables and what was listed... Parents are also paying for it as a gift, but is this a good deal? :)

Seems pretty good if you want an Xbox.

Are you kidding me? I already have an Xbox, but I'd be all over that. There are a few good games in there, and you'd pay about that much just for a used system, likely not in good condition.

Apparently it's in like out of the box condition, so...
and I dont have an Xbox, just a PS2.

Make sure it is not a thomson drive! I can't emphasize that enough. If it is, I'd avoid it and see if you can't just get the games for cheap. Of course, if you don't mind opening the system and replacing the drive ($75 for a good one) it's your choice. Just a little warning.

Buy it whether or not it has a thompson drive. My xbox has one and has worked flawlessly for 3 years.

Thomson drives burn out all the time. They have a life expectancy of 1-3 years, depending.

If your dvd drive goes out you are screwed regardless of that I would jump on this deal and if you don't want it I'll buy it from him for that price plus shipping.

Well I got it, and Doom 3 was actually James Bond: Everything or Nothing... >_< Stupid miscommunication!

My harddrive just dropped a month ago, and I've had that Xbox since December '01. I'd say 4 years for a supposedly crappy drive is pretty good. Of course, now I have a new box with the supposedly superior Samsung drive. Can't tell too much of a difference really. I do know that the mid-cutscene model loading in Halo 2 is much less noticeable.

I doubt they would put a Thompson in there for a refurb. Also, the claims made above are blown way out of proportion. They don't burn out ALL THE TIME OMGZZ!!11!!! @!!!! Samsung and Phillips' drives are better, but i would imagine you're in good shape.
