I didnt know if this was supposed to go here but here it is, a first look at the halo script. I got to say this is the first video game turned movie that will actually be good.

I said the exact same thing about George A Romero's Resident evil script. Then they decided not to use it for financial reasons. I guess their reasoning was they didn't want to increase their finances when the sales would have been off the charts.
Gonna take a look later today.

looks sweet. Hope they focus more on MC's backstory, training, and reach, since everyone knows the story of the first game already.

Don't bother reading it later if you don't have the time now...It's just some fanboy's wet dream of what a Halo movie would be like. That whole thing was a joke.

Actualy it seems more like a review of the script, not the actual script. Anyhow, I'm not going to be goated into being falsely hyped for this movie just yet. If this is the direction of the real script I'm actually a little disappointed. I was hoping more along the lines of MC's backstory like from Eric Nylund's novel, the Fall of Reach. This could still be good though I guess. I just hope Garland's script is worth what they are paying, especially since he only has about one credited script under his belt.

might replace every instance of "script" in your thread with "story line"...scripts are usually something like:

What you linked is some latino web site trying to get a couple minutes of internet fame by enticing surfers to believe they somehow got a multimillion dollar script. yeah right...i'm sure their story line is a book report of the halo paperbacks...never read them but maybe someone can confirm this?

I really hope that is not the movie. If I wanted to know the story of Halo I would just go pop it in my Xbox and experience it for myself. The story needs to be original, set in the Halo universe, advancing the current story (or showing backstory).
Or maybe a sidestory of some kind. I really don't want to see things I already know. Half the fun of watching a movie is not knowing what happens next. If it's a direct script from the game then you lose that.

Well I didn't read all of the description from the supposed review, but from what I read it's not from the books. I guess it's kind of like "The Flood" but that just told mainly the story of the game but it included some of the Covenant's PoV, so it doesn't even seem too much like that. I'm certainly not convinced it's a reviewof the real script either though.

Latinoreview is a legit website, they often have big name script reviews before anyone else, they also had the Splinter Cell screenplay scoop a couple of weeks ago.
