I called up last night to cancel my 2 months free trial, and they asked me why I wanted to cancel. I told them that I had a 12 month card that I was going to use in a couple of months (when my brother got one so we could use it concurrently.) They said if I activated the 12 month card I would get a free game. One of these 3.

Apparantly they record which one you want, them ship it out after you activate the 12 month card. He recorded the game that I wanted, my address, phone # and email address. I asked if they were the only games available and he said yes, for now. It may change next month. But it is with the activation of a 12 month card.
I was a bit suprised - This was not in my kit or anything, and the only reason that I found out was because I was trying to cancel. I asked did it still apply since I got Crimson Skies with the package, and he said it would apply.

I am on the phone with them now, and they are saying this is only offered if you CALL IN.
So make sure that you call. This is not offered online.

I called into MS and asked about this promo and they didn't know anything about it. Is there a certain area you're supposed to call? I called into the number you listed and the guy had to go and ask about the promotion and then when he got back on the line he said, "As of now MS is not sponsoring such a promotion."

Hmm... I don't know about that. I have spoken to 3 representatives, and all 3 knew of the offer. It may coincide with the 2 months free trial offer though. Call again and talk to them.
I went to 3, then 2. (3 is account information, then 2 is to cancel your account.)

I would tell them that I heard about the deal. Say a friend of mine was offered this deal. I was offered it, and I am a friend... (loose definition of friend.)

I have all three games and don't have to renew for another 8 months. Early adopters ALWAYS get screwed.

maybe try saying "i would like to cancel my account because i find ps2 online to be a better service than you" MAYBE they might give you the offer.

I've heard about this deal as well, so I'm pretty sure it's not bogus. Does it work if you use the Live Kit subscription as well?

Prolly not, unless you call them at the end of your subscription and tell them you are cancelling the service. Otherwise, they've already got your money, they aren't gonna go any further. That's why it is offered to the trial memberships: you technically haven't bought the Live service yet, and they are providing incentive for you to continue the service.
If you have an expired card can you call and get a new code?

I don't know about any of this. All I know is that they told me if I wanted to use my 12 month code from the Live Kit, they would give me a free game. I was just coming off of the trial subscription.
I would just call them and ask. They treated me great.
