i've been debating hooking my xbox up to my new lcd monitor. it has d sub input as well as dvi. how would i go about this?
currently i'm using the monster hi def component cables...i also have the standard composite that it came with. there's got to be an adapter out there....anybody know?
thanks.

Well, there are Xbox VGA cables out there or you could get a component to VGA convertor. I really don't think there would be any advantage to trying to connect an Xbox using DVI. I could be wrong about that, but I'm not sure you would be able to tell a difference based upon the resolution that Xbox spits out.

are these adapters pretty easy to find? i checked some component to vga adapters and they are pretty pricey...like $200 pricey. i agree with the dvi statement. i remember reading the analog to digital conversion is pretty useless in most cases.

Just stick with the component cables. It's not worth the extra dough and I highly doubt you'll be able to see a difference anyway unless you force yourself to see it
I've got my HD DirecTV box hooked up to a Dell HDTV and tried switching back and forth from DVI to Component on HD sources and couldn't really see a difference.

my toshiba 36" tv has component input but does not support HD...i don't even think it does progressive scan. i looks good w/ the component cable setup, but i was going to check out the lcd monitor picture. if it costs more than say $50 for this adapter, then i'll just stick with the current setup and use the switch box and run everything off component cables for the television input.
