When I'm playing a game that involves my thumbs to do button mashing I have some problems. After using my thumb alot really fast I have to pause the game and take a break because my thumb will like lock up. It will feel like it can't move or its strained really bad. Is this normal? :(

no. it happens to me too, and when i checked webmd, i found i had carpal tunnel. does the rest of your hand lock? if everything except your pinky locks up after heavy typing/gaming, you probably have carpal. it really sucks

No the only thing that locks is my thumb.
thats normal. just be glad you can still move your hands. i'm pecking this out one key at a time using the pencil i hold in my mouth. ;) to be serious, its the dreaded tunnel syndrome, don't worry, its not contagious.

Does anyone else's hand go numb after holding a GameCube controller for a while? I would have to take breaks from Metroid Prime every couple of hours becasue of that damn lock-on system.

Never happens to me. How many times a day do you jerk off? Doing it 4 times a day may actually have some benefits for me!

your thimb locking up is probably due to a build-up of lactic acid in the thumb muscle and surrounding carpal muscles not carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel will give you dull aching and sometimes shooting pain in the thumb and 1st two fingers, and is usually associated with a tingling sensation also. I'd say if you don't have this problem or any pain while you're NOT playing games, then chances are you don't have Carpal tunnel.
