My question is, why did they let it grow to 16 lbs. before deciding to remove it?

Thats what I'm trying to figure out. When it was a small lump, they should have been trying to do something about it.

Lack of money most likely.

she was only "recently diagnosed"?
sucks for that kid, but since it ran on a local news channel, I'm sure she'll be able to raise enough $

Ive seen a show on discovery channel about this. The kid (differant) got it removed but is going to require plastic surgery later on. It usually happons in forein countrys.

Are all of her teeth gone but one? It looks like this thing totally destroyed her nasal cartilage and such.

If I was a doctor, I might consider chaulking this one up to a good deed for the year, I mean the poor kid looks like she is chewing on a bowling ball, and they can't shell out 95k of their time? Thats Miami for ya.

The fact that it's impairing her respiration should be enough reason to go ahead without concern for money. It's disgusting that they will allow this to go on until some pockets can be padded.

I saw this. It was oddly disturbing, but greatly comforting that through charity and the goodwill of others the little dude was able to get his face fixed up pretty good and have a chance at a more normal life.
