Yeah MGS 3 is the only good deal but then think about it for a sec. Both Atlus games are coming out soon, Magna Carta and Stella Deus, plus Dragon Quest VIII. Get all three for $90 PO or even $81 if they let you use the Edge card. You could get some serious gaming power for a nice price.

I agree the deals are in no shape or form as good as last year's, but their are still some to be had. What caught my eye are:

Metal Gear Solid 3 PS2 - $9.99 (great great price)
1080 Avalanche GC $9.99 (missed this one when EB had it for this price earlier in the year since no EB had the game left in stock. Wonder what will happen this time around, whether or not they will receive more copies in)
DOOM 3 CE XB $19.99 (Good price, but is it good enough for me to go and buy it. Also, I doubt that my EB still has any or will receive any more. They'll probably have only the regular version of it)

And wow, the EB/Gamestop merger must have really put a kink in EB's deals. Almost everything seems to at MSRP and that 2 for $30 is no better than what I can get at BB with a GGC. B2G1 is intriguing though.

And I'm not going to seem ungrateful like the rest ;), so I would like to give to thank you for typing up all of that and my sincerest appreciation.

This is deal is warm at best. 1080 is great but i got that for $10 at their last sale. MGS3 for $10 is nice, but they are likely just clearing space for MSG3:Substance. Doom3 and the expansion pack will hit $20 at Best Buy sooner or later anyway.

i think EB is starting to wise up to combining edge with b2g1. i tried that in their last sale and it didn't work at two different stores. the computer wouldn't add the edge discount.

yepp, it has a shiney metal box. nice one, in fact. and ultimate doom and doom 2 are nice kick ass games. i just don't like how multi. doom 3 isn't splitscreen like halo 2, cause i don't know anyone else with an x-box :cry:

Well, depends where you live, to be fair. Back at home in NY and even here in IN there are a few customers at the local EBs who buy games the day of release, brute force their way through the entire game in two days, spend the rest of the week maxing out the game in every way possible, and end up returning it by around Monday or Tuesday, sometimes Wednesday of the next week. I can usually count on these guys and they take special care with their games, so they're pretty much pristine when they hand them back. It's not 32.5% off MSRP with free shipping a la EBGames.com, but it's a nice 19% off MSRP if I can wait a week on a high-tier title.

Problem is that, most of the time, it really isn't feasible unless it was a title that I just had to get, no doubt about it, so I don't end up going for it that often but, like most things, it's entirely YMMV. I just like that some of the local gamers and movie watchers around here tend to buy things immediately and return them just as fast, which results in some spectacular local deals from time to time.

I think the two "greatest hits" for $30 is a nice deal. That means you can get Ratchet 3 and Jak 3 for $30 (they both recently became hits).

Good luck to you, but Im thinking the 'hardware' they mention in their ads will be Controllers, DVD Remotes, and Memory cards. Im thinking your best bet would be to hit up Targets and KMarts in your area.


Is there any chance of scoring a 360 tomorrow morning at GameStop? They were the only ad in the paper that included the 360 hardware although it did say supplies may be limited. It just strikes me as odd that if they weren't going to have ANY of them in stock that they would include it in the ad.

Picked up Gun Xbox 360 (unopened), Suikoden Tactics, Growlanser Generations free. My friend was going to buy Gun at BestBuy so I had him buy King Kong 360 instead so we could trade games.
