OK, I tried to search to see if this had been posted and didn't find anything. If it has been, well, here it is again. The $400 360 will have the remote control packaged w/it for a limited amount of time. The $300 360 will NOT have the remote. How do I know this? Because my store got our 360 shipment in Wednesday, 17-$400 and 5-$300. It's printed on the box that it is a limited supply so if you're thinking about waiting a month or 2 to avoid the rush you might want to reconsider (depending on how much you want the remote). CC will be handing out tickets 11/22 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Unless a store chooses to individually, all CC's will open at the regular time of 10am.

Not to sound like a ahole or anything..but i think most people interested in 360 know the remote comes with it.

is it going to be all the premiums stores are getting in that day, or is it only going to be a handful out of the premiums they get?

I'm not planning on buying the 360 at launch and haven't paid much attention to it so I'm short on the details. If this fact is as common as you guys say I'll have a mod delete the thread. Epic and afedock, thanks for not being dicks about it.:)

I'm pretty sure it will packaged w/all $400 systems for at least the initial batch and possible the next but no promises.

MS said ALL premium systems will get it for a limited time.

That being said, I'm positive it is like the free spider-man 2 umd that came with the psp. As long as you get one in the first couple weeks, you will get a free remote. I have yet to see a premium box that did not have that little metallic sticker promoting the free remote inside.

Its basically similar (although slightly more usable) to the free spider-man 2 umd that came with the first PSP shipment. Just a nice bonus and a way to get people to hurry up and buy the system and not wait for it to drop in price.

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that I haven't exactly been holding my breath waiting for the 360.:D

RVB, just remember, you had that av first.;)

It is not the retail remote as seen in the link below, it is a smaller version.

Ease up off of the OP. He doesn't know what everyone else knows or doesn't know.
It may have been because I just decided to get one because of the Sam's club deal but somehow this slipped through the cracks for me and made my day. So thanks OP.

wow, 400 fucking dollars and it doesn't even come with the full remote? And it's only in a limited supply? There's not even a number pad on the damned thing! Might as well just use the controller if you can't have a number pad.

Dammit Microsoft, why couldn't you have just released one system for $300 or $360!

I'm taking it you didn't win one from every10minutes.com, but even so why would you complain about a free accesory. They could have easily taken it out and made you pay anywhere between $29.99 - $129.99. It is going to be ok.

How often do you actually use the numbers on a DVD remote?

The main reason why I'm complaining is because I was under the impression that the remote was a part of the inflated $400 package. So now I see that it's $400 and you're not even paying for the controller.

It just pisses me off how we have been getting screwed lately with new systems as they force us to buy into their over-expensive bundles. I still can't justify paying an $250 for the psp when $50 of that price comes from accessories that are all sub-par.

Then on the xbox front, MS is causing a huge divide between consumers where the knowledgable will buy the $400 because they "might as well" since that's the only one that comes with the hard drive and the cost of the hd is so damn expensive it seems like it's worth it. Meanwhile the $300 customers go without a harddrive and unsuspecting consumers soon realize that their system is not fully backwards compatible because of it. MS is laughing this whole time knowing they could have had one sytem for $300 that included the hd without all the "extras" that many gamers aren't going to use (component cables, headset, etc.).

And in the end, the worst part is that we as gamers are buying into this nonesense. PSPs still sell well as more people just bend over and accept what Sony gives them and we all know that the xbox 360 is looking to be a big hit. Why are we, especially as Cheap Ass Gamers, supporting these pricing models that inevitably screw us out out of our hard earned money?

I know, it's the same old song. But that doesn't mean it's not worth singing.

Well, I'll be waiting in line on the night of the 21st to get my premium bundle which I will be happy to spend the money on. While I'm waiting in line? I'll be playing my PSP which I also felt that was well worth the money. I'm a cheapassgamer but that doesn't mean I'm gonna pass on the new products simply because it comes in a bundle.

I read somwhere that Microsoft was considering only one package with the Xbox 360, hard drive and a wireless controller for $360. Why they didn't the world will never know as that would have been the best package and not divided the camps into those with harddrive and those without.

Because most of us are grown adults who can, GET THIS, spend our money on whatever we choose.

Ha, it's funny how you and a couple of other people have gotten insulted by what I said. Why? I didn't make any blanket statements. I didn't insult the buyers of the bundles (i.e. you). My argument is against the manufacturers of the bundles. Why's everybody getting all defensive? Fine go ahead and support them; it's no skin off my sack.
