If what we are getting in so far is any indication, we are maybe getting in like 2 systems max.
Was excited when I saw that we finally started getting in Xbox 360 games, until I saw that we got a whopping TWO copies of Kameo, and since the warehouse is OOS that is all we are ever getting for awhile. Still no accessories or other games, but I am wondering if we will get in more copies of anything else... two copies is way on the small side, and makes me believe K-Mart won't get in many systems at all.
The moral of the story is, if you are going to camp K-Mart, you better be first in line. We are roughly 5 days from the launch, and nobody higher up in corporate can tell me how many systems we are getting and if they have any sort of plan for this.
It is going to be a disaster.

I would but they have no idea what it is or what to do with it... everything about this launch is placed on my shoulders, so I have to make up for where corporate has failed.
Honestly, I never expected to get in alot of 360's, but after getting in only two copies of Kameo a week after everyone else, I just wanted to put out the warning that you'd be alot better off camping at Best Buy. I know alot of CAG's thought that hitting up K-Mart would be the smart idea, but it's definately not.

People still shop at K-mart?
The last one I went to was in the middle of a ghetto. No one spoke enlish and they had shit all over the floor. They had N64 games for $60! They had about 5 of the wavebird combo packs, but they were all full price.

Just got a call from my staff there... apparently we got in more games today, but a whopping 2 to 3 titles of each.
Yea, it's looking VERY bleak for launch units.... as long as I get mine, I could care less about our customers though.

OMG it's KMART, this is not shocking news. How many people who shop at Kmart have money to waste on a 360 anyway!?

The only reason I posted what I did, is because, once again, a week or so ago some CAG's were getting the idea that "Hey, I should hit up a K-Mart, no one thinks to shop there so they will probably have some systems left over".
You'd actually be surprised at the number of people who would come get a 360 at K-Mart... I was shocked too, I've had people ready to bust out cash and credit for it since they already thought it was released, plus I get about 10 phone calls a day asking about it now.
This thread is just a heads up to CAG's, that K-Mart probably isn't the smart idea some people think it is shopping there. Works for me though, since I can get 10% off all the games and the system, too bad my store only has one copy of Kameo and Call of Duty 2 now for our customers :D

oh no, I have no questions about the intentions of your thread. I just find Kmart kind of humorous. I actually bought my bathroom rug there.

K-mart sucks... but it's a place where few gamer consider buying System...
during the PSP lanuch... my k-mart only got 2 PSP in stock... sadly it took them a few weeks to sell those... thats from the clerks mouth...
I'll have to check this out.. Hopefully it's not the core bundle..
When PS2 was released I camped outside that cold night...I was #2 in line and they had 6 systems to sell.

My brother works at the Kmart in Kalamazoo and it's not looking good. He has recieved no systems as of right now. He finally got with someone who knows something and the inside word is that they are being distrubuted through the warehouse. Most retailers, get their shipments of console right from the manufactur to decrease delays. Kmart on the other hand is doing the warehouse method because they are distributing them to the stores with the best video game sales.
They got 2 orginal XBOX's 4 years ago and I got one of them. Hopefully I'll be able to get one of them again.

I was sent an email by corporate today telling me that only four zones in our district were receiving Xbox 360's on November 22nd, which leaves 12 zones with ZERO Xbox 360 units on launch day.
I expected 2 at the least, since they sent me 2 of every launch title... now I find out that my store is getting ZERO, and I am being berated by customers about every 20 minutes because of this.
What kind of dumbass marketing is this? I really shouldn't have expected better from K-Mart, to be honest... why even put an ad in THREE of your flyers if only a handful of stores were even going to get units? I was eagerly looking forward to this day, not only as a gamer, but as a salesperson, because system launches are always fun and exciting.... now I find out all I get to deal with is throngs of angry people because corporate is a bunch of assholes.

You're honestly upset that MS is glancing over Kmart? Look at the demographic of a Kmart. Look at the quality of most Kmarts.

MS isn't "glancing over K-Mart", it's that K-Mart is fucking themselves over. By having the units sent to their main warehouse, and then only giving the units to their "top selling stores", they are screwing over alot of their other stores. The demographic and the quality isn't important as people are still very willing to buy this system - I just had someone yell at me for close to 20 minutes because we aren't getting any at all. It's just dragging their own name further through the mud.
Neudog, I am unsure of how to know if your K-Mart is getting any. They are being VERY tightlipped about the whole thing (another stupid move) and it took me close to a week of going through EVERY chain available before I was able to find out what little information I could.
I mean, they sent me two of EVERY launch title, but no system and no accessories. What the hell am I supposed to do with all these games? I mean, ANY store could be a hot seller for this, so to just send them to "high performing stores" is going to leave a bad taste in many customers mouths. Shit, send me 10 360's, and I'll have all 10 sold by the time we open, so their logic is dumb.
Today I was also instructed to not really tell the customer we are getting in zero units, but to say "well right now we are unsure but we might get some in on launch". That leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I was going to get one for myself, but now this gives me the opportunity to get an HDTV first, so I'm happy.

I agree with you totally but some of the stuff is off. Obviously if you had 100 360's you could sell them. That's not the problem, the problem is that there isn't 100 360's out there, that's Microsofts fault. Kmart got 20 for that area, then gave them to better stores, that's Kmarts fault. Any store that had 100 360 could move that amount.
BTW my brothers store didn't get any also. Freakin' unbelievable.

What I mean is that it would have been better for K-Mart to give each store 2 consoles, rather then give 2 stores 10 consoles each. I don't see how your numbers on selling video games matters when this thing will sell out at any K-Mart they put it into. I could see maybe giving those stores a few extra, but to completely give them the lions share while screwing many stores out of their shipments is low, even for this company.
The fact that it's advertised in THREE different flyers they are putting out makes it even worse.

I've come to realize over the years that K-Mart and High Quality Intelligence do not mix well together at all. Only sending out units to a few select stores and yet having THREE different flyers is just plain fucking DUMB on K-Mart's part, and sadly its people like you who are going to get berated the most over this stupidity.
Dude, I would leave K-Mart if I were you. You are WAY too good for that dump. Leave before it kills you. Trust me, the sooner you leave the better off you'll be. :)

That's funny because I strolled into the KMart in Greenburgh, NY a day after the PSP launch and picked one up. There were at least 5 more in the cabinet also. Hopefully, my Kmart is a video game seller becuase that was my plan along with CompUSA as a backup.
It'a great time to be a cheap ass gamer
