from magicbox.com:

G A M E C U B E

- Eijo Aonuma from Nintendo revealed some new tidbits for Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess:

The game uses the largest development team than any other game in the series.
Link and the other character will have motion captured animation.
The content is large than Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time and every other Zelda title.
The total play time is over 100 hours if you finish the main story, all the events and solve all the secrets.
Many new features and creative elements are present in the game, that were supposed to be used in the next generation Zelda title.

I still wish they would just make this a Revolution game, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless. I wonder if that last bit about elements from the next generation Zelda might mean some features are unlocked when played on the new console.

Forget the 100 hours, the most impressive bit of news is the last point:

"Many new features and creative elements are present in the game, that were supposed to be used in the next generation Zelda title."

Hello Revolution Controller!!!

The game will still be playable on the GC, but as an incentive to buy the Revolution will utilize the sword action we are all dying for.

Unless Zelda is going to come out of the TV and fellate me, I can't imagine it holding my interest for 100 hours.

yeah we had that speculative thread already, and i think it makes sense for the delay, and i hope its true... anyway, this 100 hours stuff is BS, i mean it might take 100 hours to get every single item and clear all the mini games and stuff, especially if they have statues like in the minish cap, catch all the fish, stuff like that, im sure the main game will only be 30-40 if that

For some reason I get a feeling that TP is suppose to be the great ending to the GC. But that's my opinion since I'm not looking forward to anything else on GC, just the next-gen consoles. What else is GC coming out with, that's note worthy?

So this being clocked at 100 hrs? I thought this conversation was already said when it was suppose to be 70 hours. I think it goes more on skills. If this is just your regular mainstream players it would be 100 hours? Compared to some casual gamers clocking in at umm 60 to just finish it?? I don't know.

Personally I wouldn't care, just give me the damn game since it's the only thing I'm really looking forward to. And I can't wait to do some swinging action and kill my arm/wrist off to killing enemies, fishing?, + any other movements.

I swear I read like a month or more ago from a NoE spokeman that the reason for the delay was to make it also have N5 specials.

I thinkt hat's a given.

Release date anyone?

is magicbox.com credible?

no one has questioned if this info is true or false

Yeah, they've been around for years.

I've yet to finish a Zelda game and not wish it had lasted a bit longer, offered a bit more...but I highly doubt it'll really take 100 hours. Perhaps with something stupid and boring, like the statues in Wind Waker...but for most of us, it'll probably be closer to 50.

Still, 50 hours for an action/adventure game is still really good when you consider most of the competition clocks in at 20 hours for the basic quest (Ex. Ratchet and Clank)

... and this is good news? Anything over 15 hours is WAY too long for just about any game...

Well except for RPGs....

Any other game has a sweet spot of 15-20 hours.

Decent point... I get a little worn out if a game just goes on and on. Hopefully the development team is finding ways to really incentivize playing and keep you interested. They also need to make sure there's no painful crap like the sailing in LoZ: WW, which was fun at first but ultimately detracted from the overall package.

Did you read the OP? That's what Aonuma said, that it would take 100 hours to do everything.

Duuuuuuh.

I can't wait to play the new Zelda game. When will it come out?
