Are prices usually higher now or before Christmas? I have something semi-valuable and I want to get the most for it. And I've never sold around Christmas time, (I"m osrt of new to ebay). Anyway, should I list it now or wait? It's a video game

Depends on the item, a lot of used game prices tend to drop around christmas because people don't like to give used items as gifts and the typical increase in new games that arrive for the holiday season.

I've found the best time to sell rare used games is right after christmas when people have holliday money burning a hole in their wallets.

if you are selling a bundle like a system it seems right after Thanksgiving is a good time to post it. At that time parents go into freak out mode in getting their kids gifts. And they want there to be plenty of time to have it mailed

Interesting. It's a sealed original castlevania SOTN. But since it's for PSX it's still used I suppose.

Actually you should sell it now, the value of all castelvania items is high because of the release of castlevania for the DS. That's the golden rule of ebay, items always sell best when a sequel or the next in the series has recently come out.

The weekend after Thanksgiving is the best time to sell.... and anytime up to December 25. The advice about used games is not necessarily true. Yes people want to give "new" gifts, but also people buy lots of presents *for themselves*. During December people lose all sense and spend hundreds of dollars.

The *worst* time is January/February when people receive their credit card bills & see how far in debt they are. Then they lock-up their wallets & stop spending.

In my experience, November is the best time.

Yes, people do give items they buy from me to others as gifts. I have received comments specifically stating they were giving my used audio CDs, games, books, etc as gifts.

I just had another round of sales a week ago and I was pleasantly surprised at final bid prices.

Go for it!

The end of Nov, first week or so of Dec or right after christmas because people who recieved $$ as presents are looking to spend. In my experinces, all my ebay sales slow down mid dec up till xmas because people dont want to risk not recieving the package in time..
