TRU Buy-One-Get-One Value Titles

Looks like the sale is on again at TRU in the value PS2 department. Ps1 and PS2 titles with the special circle value stickers are buy-one-get-one.
From what I remember, these are usually packaged in the more opaque hard plastic shells and on a seperate shelving unit.

Remember it MUST HAVE THE VALUE STICKER to be eligible.

I always scan the rack of "value" titles at my local TRU whenever I'm there, but they always seem to have about 20 copies each of Big Mutha Truckers and Mad Maestro and little else. I would love to find something I'm interested in there, even just once, but I'm not holding my breath. Doesn't stop me from looking, though.

The TRUs I go to vary. A few have just one simple rack with very simple games like the ones you mentioned, but some have a pretty nice selection.

At my TRU, if the barcode on the back of the game is a sticker, then it's a value game. There was a few games not in those opaque cases that had those stickers such as a few greatest hits games like DMC and Sly Cooper.

Last time they had that special, one TRU yielded Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and Ratchet and Clank 1, which was a damn nice deal. Otherwise. YMMV greatly

Yes, at one TRU they would not sell me a GH because it was supposed to be separate from the value games, even though it had the sticker. Went to another TRU and I had no problem.

My TRU lets you get ANY GH game for this sale. If it doesn't scan right say you got it from the value bin. They'll look over and see that there's a ton of GH games already in there and say "That's weird, well OK". It's worked for me twice now.

Union Square NYC: lotsa Test Drive, Mad Maestro, Route 66, some kinda fishing game, Metropolismania (?) and a few others.

One each of Harvest Moon, Ratchet & Clank, Defender, Hitman 2, Headhunter.

Didn't really look too carefully at PSOne, but they did have Tekken 2 and 3.

Any where from $9.99 to $19.99 for PS2. Although I think I saw some music mixing game for $4.99. I dont think anything in the bargain bin is more than $19.99

If the game you want is a GH title not in the clearance bin, Just make you the clearance game you want is the free game. Substitute, a $19.99 title as the one you pay for. Get Gift Receipts! Then turn in the game you don't want for store credit. Use store credit toward anygame you want (GH or other). This way, if you were planning on buying a game this week anyway, you can get a free game out of it.

I saw Dark Cloud and VF4Evo in the rack at the TRU I was just at. You can probably find pretty decent GH titles at yours as well, definitely worth a look.

I usually have the game I want to keep be the free one (which rings up as zero). I let the game I actually pay for be the one I'll trade in for credit. Don't try to trade in the one that is free with the gift receipt because they won't accept it (although, I haven't tried returning the free game before).

The last time they had the Buy 1 Get 1 Bargain Bin sale, I chose 2 games, then about a week later, I decided to return them both. So I head up to TRU and the chick working there scans both and then tells me that I could keep 1 of them for free since I technically only paid for 1. Not sure if I got fortunate or if thats the case everytime but I thought I'd share... :D

you got lucky because the clerk was an idiot. I've bought 3 pairs of games during the last sale. You can exchange titles after a purchase but only with a reciept, and you can only get your $20 back if you return BOTH games. You don't get $10 back by returning only one and you don't get to keep the free one. My advice is to buy at least a pair of games and exchange them for better ones in the future if you can't get to another TRU with any good selections by next saturday when the sale ends.

Yeah, I understand that. Don't get all morally outraged about it though, it's a tad dishonest and I'm not advocating lying to cash register clerks. But if you can do it via their return policy, just make it easier on everyone and get the game you want now instead of later. And if it offends you so much, don't do it!

Neither of my TRUs have Evolution sticked as a part of this deal. If only they did, I could take advantage of this deal. I've only been able to find one game at each store... :(

I really wanted to grab a hot shots golf 3. Last time one of the tru's I was at had it in the clearance this time nothing. I also grabbed games with the barcode stickers and they still wouldn't give them to me.

Ok I went to a different TRU today and got Hot Shots Golf 3. They also had Sly Cooper, Stuntman, Legaia 2, Virtua Fighter EVO and a few more good titles. This is the best selection I have seen yet. I was hoping to get a Jak & Daxter as I know some people scored this the last time the deal was around but no luck. I also saw one Ratchet and Clank yesterday with a value sticker but didn't pick it up because the rest of the selection stunk.

Anyway I have an extra: Legaia 2: Duel Saga if someone can get me a JAK & DAXTER I will trade you for it.

I went to my Toys R Us Friday (5/21), and asked a shift manager about this. She said there was no such sale. Honestly, my Toys R Us is one of the most horribly run stores I've ever seen in my life. They just recently removed Bust a Move 2 for N64 from the shelf when it was priced for $49.99. When does this sale end, because I'm thinking of taking two games to the register and getting them rang up just out of curiosity. They have Mark of Kri, Ace Combat 4, Ratchet and Clank 1, Virtua Fighter EVO, and more as bargain games (the red clearance sticker).
