View Full Version : Head to Head and Major Clanmatch to be removed from Halo 2 playlist.

However, we have been talking about the removal of other playlists and it seems like a good time to go ahead and get that out of the way. So here goes - in our next update, Head to Head and Major Clan Match are both being removed from Halo 2 Matchmaking. If you recall Frankie's "By the Numbers" story a few weeks ago, you'll remember that Head to Head and Major Clan were clearly the least played of all playlists. H2H averaged about 2% of all matchmaking activity and Major Clan was too low to even rank (less than 1%). We have a finite amount of playlists we can accommodate and the decision has been made to remove some of the dead weight. This is a process that will continue as the game matures and the online population begins to shrink and we will keep making these adjustments as necessary.

That sucks balls. I didn't play H2H. But, I'm with some dudes which we do play major and it's a ball. If they should take out anything, it should be Team Snipers.
I couldn't be the only person who played Head to Head. :O
Granted, the only way you can play it is with the headset volume turned down, so you don't hear the mouthy 13 year-old or mealy-mouthed "4:20" white boi talk his usual edgy garbage, as though it were never spoken before.
As far as Major Clanmatch goes, I prefer playing Big Team Battle with the CAG clan, for some reason. I've noticed that there is a lot of cheating in Major Clanmatch and especially Minor Clanmatch.
I'll miss Head to Head, though. ;o

I remember the only time I ever played H2H, the kid said "You ready to get PWN3D?!?!?!" "No, actually I'm not my manicure is in 20 minutes".
So the match goes on (Map Lockout) and the guy grabs sword, sniper, shotgun before I can even get a Needler. So I grenade the shit outta him, I don't do anything then all of a sudden "Bitch, it's over". So he proceeds to run into my shotgun, and he threw a sticky by luck and I die. He then teabags me and says to get my mom because she needs to see what's going to happen tonight.
Needless to say, that was my last venture into the world of "Head to Head".

I dunno about Team Snipers. I find that to be pretty active. Lately I have been playing Multi-Team, Team Snipers, and Team Slayer the most. I just wish they would take Neutral Bomb, Neutral Flag, and Team Plasma War out of the rotation (at least on Backwash because with all the plasma it is too hard to see).

Oh well. I stopped playing Head to Head after they took radar off. And I've never played a Major Clanmatch. Hell, I haven't played a clanmatch for months.

man I may be a noob or whatever but the whole "playlist" thing on Halo 2 has always confused the hell out of me. I wish that a friend and I could just jump on LIVE and create a match, like in TimeSplitters.

i never, ever, played a game of major clan. one on one was ok. it was a nice change of pace everyonce in a while. but i love the addition of maps with no radar. it reminds me of our games that we played with system lnik on halo 1! NOW IF WE CAN ONLY GET UNLIMITED GRENADES BACK! aT least for system link games. that was a blast!

You can. One of you just has to create a custom game and invite the other. They don't have a publicly available list of custom games, but you should be able to join your friend's game.

I played Head to Head a lot. I was undefeated until I got too high of a level where I had to start playing mostly standbyers. It will be missed.

LOL that is precisely why I have not payed 60 to sign up for xbox live. I prefer to get "pwned" over my pc without the preteen harrassment.

Lately, when i've played the communities been a lot "chiller". Maybe, because all the squeekers asked their mommy's to buy them a 360.

I sold my copy of H2 to my friend, I was getting sick of the game for all the n00b things that happened in it. (Spawns, Modders, Little Kids, Grenades, Lag, Beatdowns). I was really good, but I just can't stand it anymore.
