I want to win this contest becauise I always hear how good this game is and I don't have any soccer games. I've rented a lot and they are a lot of fun though.
I used to watch the local socccer teams play, Soccer and Hockey are the only two sports I can watch without getting bored to death.
Thanks for having this contest!

I'll be honest the only soccer game I've been to is my nieces, but I have watched it on TV during major games. But my big soccer memory is playing excitebike 64 and there is the game in it where you drive on a bike against another player and try to get a HUGE ball into a socker net....

I want to win this contest because my girlfriend is a Winning Eleven fiend and I know that she would love this one as soon as it came out.
My best soccer memory was watchin Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-2 in England...an excellent game and I doubt I'll ever see any better.

I played soccer in rec and all through high school. Our offense stunk so us defense guys played most of the game. It was fun beating the tiny forwards that thought they could out finesse us bruts.
It would be nice to play a game that would let me know what it's like to have an offense.

I had a terrible experiance in a little league soccer club years ago... No one on my team scored a goal and we lost every game. I just want to win one game of soccer...

Hmm, soccer....FIFA '94.
It's been way too long since I played a good soccer game. And this is about the closest I would ever get to playing real soccer.

I once got hit in the head with a soccer ball while walking towards a drinking fountain.
I want the game cause I enjoyed sega soccer slam and wonder how accurate that is.

I want to win because the game is free!
But seriously: I played soccer for the better part of 12 years (ages 4-16). As time has gone on, I've begun to miss the sport. But as of now I'm severly out of shape and smoke a pack-and-a-half a day, so playing again is pretty much out of the question.
Truthfully, regardless of whether I win or not, I plan to own this game sometime soon. So... PICK ME ANYWAY!!

Ok here is my most remembered moment ever on the pitch. Back when I was in my Freshmen year in high school, I was the starting Center for my school Freshmen team so I was half way decent back then. So one day in PE we was all playing soccer and mostly everyone knew I was pretty good so in the middle of the game I got the ball at about mid-field and as I was bring it down the field this one kid ON MY TEAM trys to go for the ball and he kicked me right square in the groin. When he kicked me i swear i heard everything just go silent on the field while im laying on the ground in pain. So when i finally get off the ground they make me go see the school nurse who was hot and you can figure out the embarrassment when i told her what happend.
Yeah so pretty much that was the last time I played soccer in PE and now I stick to mostly Videogame Soccer so it would be pretty cool to win the best soccer game around.

That was funny. I am sorry you were embarressed. But I got a laugh from it. Question - What did you do to the guy who kicked you?
Anyway, I played soccer through middle school, high school, college and some indoor after college. Not until my senior year did I finally find a position that I could play - goalie. I just played it like I was a CB or S in football. I had a blast my senior year. Then in college I started 1 game my freshman year - a playoff game we won 1-0. Our starting goalie was back the next game, and we lost 3-2. I played in 2 games my freshman year, both when our goalie was hurt, and I did not give up a goal. My sophmore year I played in a game and gave up a goal on a penalty shot. I guess I played my junior and senior year, but I don't remember. I do know I never lost a game I started... I was not flashy, and that hurt me with the player/coaches. But I was aggressive and had a ton of fun.
In indoor my first year I did really well, but that was probably more of a reflection on my team than on me. Than I went with a team from my church. By the end, I was happy to come out of goal and run around the field. :-) Indoor - The shots are typically low shots, and there are few breakaways. Most are just ripped. So I had a rough time.
All in all, soccer as soccer stinks. But when you get to be goalie it is great!!!
To Him be the glory.
Take Care,
Matthew

I played Soccer a lot while I was in grade school, so Soccer in Genernal reminds me of times when I was with friends that I do not see anymore. I would like to win this contest because not only am I a Soccer Fan, but im a big sports fan. And I have not played a decent Soccer Game lately :(.

Soccer is a decent sport in real life, it's pretty much just running with a ball thrown into the mix. Videogames are a diferent story however, with some of my fondest gaming moments involving virtual striker for the dreamcast and ALOT of trashtalking. I think soccer games should start including the soccer riots and hooligans, it would truely be a good time.

I used to play soccer in little league and jr high, I have no real fond memories about it, I think we lost most of our games. A few years later I coached a little league team, I would have to say the bestmemory of it is finally winning a game.....the last game of the year.
I would like to win this game for all the cheapasses out there who like to boycott they're local game stores because they are sick of being reamed in the arse, for my mother rest her soul who died with a soccer jersie on, for all the meek of the Earth who have not yet accepted me as they're leader, and for me because it is free.
(all stories stated in second paragraph have been altered for promoting myself purposes, and my mother is still alive, if you do want to accept me as your leader send a p.m. with your allegiance.)

When I was maybe 14 or so, I was playing soccer at summer day camp on a mini makeshift field between the fences surrounding a cabin in the park. I really dont play sports, I'm more of a spectator, and I was pretty bad, but for a quick moment I zoned out and I took the ball by myself almost the whole length of the field (which granted, wasnt very far) past most of their defenders, off the fence boundary, and then at the last moment passed it to someone for an easy goal; I suppose everyone was expecting me to try to finish it off. That is really my only soccer memory, and one of the only times I've played

I played intermural soccer with a few of my old chums last semester in college. I didn't have cleats so i borrowed some from my foriegn friend's . They were incredibly small, but i wore them anyhow. About halfway through the second hald i start getting these bad pains in my big toes so i go to the side line and take my cleats off and then my socks and discover my big toes are both bleeding underneath the toe nail because i was playing in shoes that were too small. Sadly four months late the still are majorly f'ed up. And now one is halfway falling off.

I've never been any good at soccer. I was pretty good at mega man soccer though. That game was awesome. You'd get 2 special shots a game which were pretty much sure goals if you were close enough. The computer had those too but they'd always waste them. I hope this game is harder than mega man soccer was.

I was never that good in my Youth Soccer Association, always on D, etc. I never expected to win a game, or kick the winning goal, nothing. I would try my best, and my best was never good enough to play on the front line.
One day however, the game slowed down. I was watching as the opposing team dribbled the ball down field, my team mate on the other side of the field trying desperately to get the ball away from our opponent. I start running to give him a hand, and the ball is kicked, flying through the air. It hits the ground hard right in front of the goalie, who dives and misses it. Reacting quicker than I ever had, I slide behind the goalie, knocking the ball away from the goal just as it approaches the white line, saving the ball.
Needless to say, the other team scored as soon as they kicked the corner kick, but, I had my moment of glory.
As for winning this contest, I'd have to say that I'd like to win to try out a game that I have never gotten the privelage of playing before, and to try to recreate my glorious days in SYSA :D

I think I should win because I never win anything!

I haven't played soccer since gym class in high school, and it did not last too long due to the amount of physical contact that was involved

I played soccer for several years growing up. However, the fondest memories of soccer come from playing 4 on 4 Fifa at Blookies house during his yearly 4th of July BBQ Bonanza. Good times... Good times...
Winning Eleven is the best soccer francise around. Steep learning curve, but the degree of contol can not be beat.

In elementary school, I always participated in the soccer intramurals after-school. They were a lot of fun, but I never played soccer in high school.
Before getting Winning Eleven 6, my only video game experience with soccer games was Super Soccer (SNES). Obviously, that's a big jump. I absolutely LOVED WE6; I played it nonstop, as did my brother. We ended up trading it for another game we really wanted. The funny thing is that I got WE6 as a result of winning a soccer quiz contest on another message board. :)
Here's my review (http://gamerankings.com/itemrankings/itemcomments.asp?itemid=562479&userid=47383) of Winning Eleven 6 International (off-site link to GameRankings). Read that if you want for my full opinion on the game.
Needless to say, I'd really love to win Winning Eleven 7. WE6 made me see soccer games in a different light, and I'd love to experience that again with WE7. My brother would be happy as well. :)

I've played the old SNES FIFAS, couldn't really get to like the PS2 ones, but love this series.
I've played soccer (sweeper) from 12-18 and still play pick-ups at the local parks now.
Thanks for helping out the CAG community. =)

The reason i would like to win this package is because i am originally from Manchester, England. Being from England it is hard to not like Soccer (or football as we call it). I am a huge Manchester United Fan, i used to play soccer at school and almost everyday with my friends. This would be a nice replacement for me because i haven't been as involved since i left my home, home to the Old Trafford Heroes (Man U).

WEll I'd love to have this game!!
I'm a season ticket holder for the Rochester Raging Rhino's. Hopefully we will go to the MLS once our new park opens.
Funny how you post this, I was just playing FIFA 97 yesterday on the SNES, and my friend and I were comparing how the graphics have changed for 2004. I'd much rather play FIFA 97, then 2004. They hardly changed at all. So at gamestop yesterday, I asked how much they'd give my for FIFA. They said $18. I said it's not worth $0.01.
So he stated his famous line, " Did you reserve Winning Eleven 7 yet?"
I said uhhh no, but if you give me about $35 I will.
I sure hope I win this contest, and if not,
Anybody want to trade this game for FIFA 2004??

when i was younger, around second or third grade, me and my best friend went to this field behind our school to play soccer. they had soccer goals, and it sounded like a good time. well, we were playing for awhile, and then i accidentally kicked the ball into his face. this was totally unintentional (really), but he didn't believe me, and proceeded to start the first and only physical fight i have ever been in. i mean, it wasn't that physical, he pulled my hair like a little girl, but let me tell you something, my scalp hurt. a lot. he left and went back to my house before i could, and then deleted my mario paint project that i had been working on (for quite a long time too!). boy was i mad.
so why do i want the game? i want it because one of the most memorable experiences in my life has to do with soccer. i want it because even though i always wanted a school soccer team we never had one. i want it because i want to play it with the friend i mentioned (we are still friends, yes), and maybe i can kick the ball into the face of one of his players, or at least crush him with my intense video game soccer skills.

Soccer is never my sport until I played them on video games. I vividly remember the soccer game I first played with my NES whose characters were based on the ones from River City Ransom. It was one of the very best soccer games I ever played. Until today, I still own that game and its mini version of it on Gameboy!
Not being able to find another soccer game as good as that one and for so long, I heard great things about Winning Eleven and will love to try this game out. It might just become my second love of my life. Heee

This season, both my children started playing soccer. More than once, they would have games simultaneously, at fields several hundred feet apart, so I would get my excerise hobbling back and forth between them (I have a physical handicap, more on that later). On one particular day, I got to see my 8-year old son, who is a bit out of shape and asthmatic to boot, really hustle and make both a decent showing as goalie for a while and then really doing an excellent job defending... An exceptional day, his personal best to date.
The same day, my 6-year old daughter, in a league with children mostly larger than her, continued her usual high level of hustle, but for once was not very tredidatious about getting in and trying to get the ball. (At that age at least, it seems like the girls are mostly resisting the urge to be polite... ("She's got the ball, it would be rude to go kick it away from her")) She drove in time and time again in this, her last game of the season, and then she really surprised me and jumped up and chested a really hard kick that was headed right for her team's goal. IT completely knocked the air out of her lungs and she collapsed. It is the first time this has ever happened to her, and I could recall the panic when it happened to me as a child as the coach helped her regain her breath. She got up and continued to drive on, and had a great story to go with the last day of her first season.
I am also trying to get her into computer and video gaming, and would like to try something that appeals to her other than the ubiquitous Barbiesoft.
My son already enjoys gaming, and I like to find non-violent content for him.
And finally, I have a physical impediment to playing with them on the field. I have a semi-functional knee, that only bends part way, has no real cartiledge and poor ligamentation. I also have a hole in my femur that requires me to avoid running and putting sudden force on my leg.
This game would give me the chance to participate with my children in something they enjoy.

I have only played soccer at the high school level, so by no means am I a super duper soccer stud. But here is a funny experience I had during my rookie (freshman) season.
I play fullback (defense) because I know I suck at dribbling the ball. My philosophy has always been, I don't mind letting the ball get through me (at least there is a goalie to stop it), but the player isn't going to. So in one game, there was a high arcing ball and I was standing behind the forward, both of us trying to trap the ball. I think I might have nudged him just a bit ;) Anyway, he fell forward and I got called for a yellow card.
At the time, I didn't even know what happened as it was purely unintentional. But my coach screamed at me to get off the field so I obliged.
Heh, it was funny, in retrospect, I knew that guy faked the fall. No way was I pushing him that hard, although I was bigger than him :)
That set the tone for the rest of my years of playing soccer as a fullback.
After one humiliating loss (a few seasons later), my coach singled me out after the game. He praised me because apparently, I took down some guy and he said I was the only guy showing any emotion or efforts on the team. Even though we lost big (probably on the magnitude of 0 to 8), I was beaming. I attack every forward and I pride myself for not letting anyone get through my side of the field (I usually play right fullback).
Anyway, not the most interesting story but a philosophy was instilled in me through one incident and set the tone of my play for the next 3 seasons!
-------
I want to win because I have always wanted to try the WE series. I know they are the best, and when I got a PS2 (finally!) late last year, I almost bought WE6 but read that WE7 is coming. So I decided to hold off till this one comes out! Well, now might be the perfect opportunity for me. Make no mistake, if I win this, I would not sell or trade this, heck, I would immediate rip it open and stick it in my PS2.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

My favorite Soccer/Football related memory dates back probably a decade now. I was in England with my parents, visiting my relatives; I'm first generation American. The world cup was in full swing and I got to watch several of the matches and it was really intense and exciting. I've never been too big on sports, but Soccer is a game that I really enjoy playing and watching.
Additionally, the Winning Eleven series has a very good reputation and I'd love to win this contest!

When I was a kid I hated soccer. My mom made me play on a team and we always lost. So I would honestly spend the whole game seeing how many people I could knock down. Little kids running at full speed given a small shove will fall flat on their face.
All the soccer moms hated me, as I did them.

I have always played soccer since I was 4 years old. Since I came to this country to make my life here, there aren't many plp who like to play soccer. I can gather some plp and play some good inddor soccer in the winter and win some prizes, and in the summer, we play outdoors. WE series I have own since the first one, and it's the most realistic one and it will always be. I'd like to get this game and what other possible way than for FREE!!!!

My only real soccer experience would be watching the world cup (very entertaining watching the US last time through), and when me and my boys made a good soccer game in Midtown Madness 3 (on Live) with set rules and everything. It was almost more fun that the actual racing and stunts.
I want to win the game because the Winning Eleven 6 rocked, and I would love to own WE7!

I started playing soccer about 7 years old; when it was rag-tag. Two groups of kids and goalies. Little by little, I learned team stratigies, until I played for a bit in High School. To be honest , I wasn't the best player, I was focusing on Football, and more importantly- girls, but I enjoyed the experience playing.
Fast forward to the Winning Eleven Game for the N64; With this game, I was alble to do all the things I wanted to (headers) but couldn't. It allowed me to play professionally and reinvigorated my love of the sport.
After all, that's what game are and should be about- doings things impossible or unrelaistic in real life. Sure, I went to college, got my BA and MA, but I could have concentared stricted on footy. With WE7, my dreams could come true.

I would love to win this contest because I LOVE Soccer!! Ever since i was little i would play soccer with my friends...but it seemed like every time we played i would always get kicked in the junk....or i would always get hit by the ball in my junk. Yes it hurt, but the passion for the game overwhelmed me and i had to continue to play. But now i had to give up the game at age 20 because to many hits below the waist can really mess any guy up. Thank You for listening and Good Day.

So, you sit down to dinner, and you've got this nice roasted chicken in front of you, right? You figure, all I want is a drumstick. So you reach over, grab a leg, and pull it off. You know that sound you hear? The sound of the joint breaking, the cartilege tearing, and the *pop* of the chicken's leg coming completely apart? That's my most vivid soccer memory.
IM soccer in college, we were playing a team that was about as skillful as us - that is, not very. We were just a fistful of guys who got together because we liked the game, not necessarily because we were any good at it. But we all really enjjoyed running around, kicking the ball, and we'd actually won a couple intramural games, disorganized as we were. So, it wasn't like we were overly competitive, it's not like I *meant* to destroy myself for the game, but I did anyway.
It started out so simple. Here comes the ball, sailing across the sky in a beautiful, large arc. I was defending, at the time, and so I jumped up to head the ball back downfield. Not being particularly good, though, I misjudged where the ball was, and didn't get a good hit on it. So it seemed sort of odd that, moments later, you'd hear that crunching, tearing sound.
Of course, it only *sounded* like it was coming out of my head.
There's something odd about breaking yourself, and it's something only someone else who's broken a bone or torn up a joint can relate to. Sound travels through your bones. You can hear a bone break through your own skeleton, you can hear a ligament tear without it making an audible sound.
What I heard was my foot hitting a divot in the ground, twisting my lower leg in one direction, while my momentum carried the rest of my body in another direction. The sound of the chicken leg popping? That was my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) being obliterated, and my knee dislocating.
As I crumpled to the ground, I thought, gee, that's gonna be a nightmare to get back into place, but fate was at least marginally kind. When I hit the ground, my knee popped back into its socket, as if by magic. What wasn't magic, though, was that I couldn't move. Moving my knee felt like pressing shards of glass into my joint, and so I sat there, on the pitch, clutching my knee, and not moving.
Of course, in soccer, there are always overactors - contenders for the Oscar of sports, people who try to get advantage by faking injury. So it always takes a couple minutes to sort those that are really injured, from those that are not. After a few moments, though, the people watching the game, and the rest of the players realized something was actually pretty seriously wrong with me, and they came over to help. I don't remember much after that, except that an ambulance actually drove onto the field to pick me up.
Sure enough, my ACL was wrecked, and that was the last day I ever played a game of soccer. Sadly, I still love the game, and I even like watching it on TV. But that feeling of running down the field, kicking the ball? That was the last day I'd have that feeling.
My leg's ok, now - I had surgery to fix the ruined ligament, as well as repair the cartilege that got damaged as a result. I can walk, I can even run for short distances now, but I'll never feel particularly confident playing a game like soccer again.
Why do I want Winning Eleven 7? Because from everything I've heard, and from friends who have WE6, it's the next best thing to being there. And sadly, that's as close as I'll ever get.

Being an Aussie (but Italian heritage I have played all my life)
Best game I went to was in the late 80s' it was a local club game that was ended when a fan decided to shoot a boat flare into the opposing team cowd area. Result was an fan all-in-brawl that basically sums up fanatical soccer fans
.
I have been waiting for a great soccer game like WE7

We all know and love Fanboys. Each system has the mighty and loyal Fanboys to defend them when a troll comes to bash their one true love. Well I am the biggest Fanboy ever! I love soccer (football for the rest of the gents in the world) and go every where to see it be played. I pride myself to know as much soccer stats that I can possibly jam in my head. I have visited the last 3 World Cups starting in 1994 which was in the U.S. (1998 in France, and 2002 in South Korea/Japan* only saw games in SK and I got food posioning and wasnt very fun :( ) and I hopefully will attend games in the next World Cup (2006 Germany). I love going to root for the U.S. except for in France where we had one of the worst outings ever. We went 0-3 and scored only 1 goal in 3 games. Also it was a political nightmare when we lost to Iran. I remember all of the Americans at the game wanted to beat up Steve Samson for the terrible coaching job.
I don't just love the World Cup but I love the English Premeirship which is one of the top international leagues in the world. I am a huge Manchester United fan and can tell you anything about them. I was so delighted to see them come to America this past summer. I went to two games. The one in Giants Staduim in NJ against Juventus who we crushed and also saw American Tim Howard play his first game for them. He has become the #1 keeper for them and most likely win the Keeper of the Year. Also went to the Philly game against Barcelona which we also won and booed the hell out of Ronaldohino for picking Barca over Man Utd. How dare he not come to the Red Devils!! Oh yea heads up for everyone, they are coming back this summer!! They are going to Chicago's New Soldier Field, Philly, and Giants Staduim. Rumors are that one of the teams will be Real Madrid and David Beckham (ex man utd). Going to be great matches!
Anyway I am rambling on too much. I am an ex-all state ,county ,conference player in soccer and would love to own the ultimate soccer game. I have heard much about this game about how great it is but I could never find a copy to buy. I would kill for this game. I used to buy the EA Sports FIFA game but I just don't find them realistic. How can I be Roy Keane and dribble from my own goal line down the field and score without anyone stopping me?!?! Not possible especially with Roy's busted hip. Anyway I am a soccer fanboy that fights off everyone else when someone says soccer is for girls. *Bashes head through wall* Anyway PLEASE GIVE IT TO THIS FANBOY and I WILL FOREVER LOVE YOU!! jk :P Good Luck to everyone and Congrats to the winner!
P.S. Just told my boss that I entered in this contest and told him if I win I would take my way over due vacation and spend it playing just this game. So now he is praying that I win. What a jerk! lol Also I feel bad for the gent that has to read all of these posts. Sorry for making my long.

well i really suck at any sports, i really suck at soccer. Since i'm a major clutz i've injured many a fellow team mates, i've even broke my cosin's toe while playing. I went for a scoring kick, missed the ball by a mile and kicked his foot, it dam near broke my toe as well.
what does this have to do with winning 11? well i heard its really good, and well sense i'll never be a pro soccer player, it would be nice to be a virtual one :p

I played soccer for 12 years and I suck. During my senior year of highschool, I scored 3 goals - all against my own team. Even though I was never any good at soccer, I still enjoy the sport. I would love a copy of WE7 so I can actually play well for a change...

I want to win because I am actually a huge soccer fan (and a free game is a free game).
I am a big fan of the Everton club (Go Toffees!)who play in the Barclaycard Premiership. European football and their supporters are fantastic.
I am also reading a great story about an American who immersed himself in the world of Manchester United fans so he could learn the dynamics of their intriguing and violent lives. Book is called "Among The Thugs" by Bill Buford. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0679745351/104-6143721-5784716?v=glance
Winning Eleven has a great pedigree and would be fun to play!

Honestly, I would like to win this prize package not only because I've played Winning Eleven 6 to death, and salivate at the thought of an updated version of the game, but because I would otherwise pay good money for a WE7 jersey. I'd look a tad less ridiculous playing the game in that then decked out in my Tim Howard/Man U gear...
As for my favorite soccer experience, well, that'd of course be the USA's run in the 2002 World Cup. In terms of what I actually accomplished on the pitch...that's a bit less glorious. My defining moment in recreational play (never physically talented enough to make it on our high school team) was a freak play: although I almost always lined up as a center back, one game I was asked to play forward with our team's best scorer. At a late stage of the game, both sides scoreless, our leading striker appeared to have broken free for a shot on goal. However, instead of taking a shot, he sent a cross to me, and after a moment of hesitation, I took a shot that both I and the opposing goalie thought would go high and to the right. Of course, that was not the case, as I kicked up a huge divot of grass, barely nudging the ball along the ground. Although it rolled at a snail's pace, it found its way past the goalie, who was unable to recover from his dramatic dive.
I think they call this "pulling a Homer". :D
Anyway, thanks for the giving us the chance to win this prize, and I love this site...I check it every morning!

There is this one experience with a soccer ball that scarred me for life. It goes something like this:
When your young you always manage to find something to do. Well, this day my friends and I decided to play soccer at the High School soccer field on a Sunday afternoon. There were three of us playing and I ended up playing the goalie for the first half. I don't know what it was but there was some sort of magnet on my nuts because the soccer ball would always home in on that area. I spent most of my time on the ground weeping like a little girl letting that demonic ball fly by. But even on the ground the ball somehow managed to zero in on my balls. You guys should have seen the relief on my face when it was time to change positions.
To my surprise switching positions did not help the cause. I was going in for a goal when out of nowhere these dark gloomy clouds rolled in. I could hear the thunder in the distance and when I looked down at the ball it had changed. It now had on this sinister face of pure evil. I was shocked, but I decided to go for the goal. Just as I took a step forward, I landed on my back immersed in a pain located somewhere on my right ankle. I looked down and there was my ankle swollen to the size of that demonic soccer ball. Oh ... the pain.
At this age we couldn't drive, so my friends called my parents to pick me up. The rest of the day and the next day I spent my time on a couch with an ice-pack on my ankles and one between my thighs. The lesson I learned was never to play soccer ever again and to always watch out for evil soccer balls that are out to get me. That is til the day videogames came around. Which brings me to my point: Just give me the prize package because its the only way I play soccer. No possessed soccer balls in videogames.

I want to win this game because my little brother loves soccer and his Birthday is in 2 months, and it would be a perfect present. I don't have any soccer stories, except I played on a team in 2nd or 3rd grade, and I still have a stupid trophy laying around in storage somewhere.

My last and only soccer experience came in my Freshman year in high school. Gym class.
Teams were being picked and positions filled. Lacking any sort of soccer skills, everyone decided to put me in goal. How I've regretted that decision to this day.
Needless to say, our team lost that game, but that wasn't the only thing I lost. For you see, the ball was struck. It came at me in a flash. With no time to react, I fell to my knees and wept. I wept like I had never wept before. No goal was scored. I had stopped it, but for a price.
Somehow, the soccer ball found its way towards my groin. A sick feeling overcame my stomach, my knees wobbled and I lay there in the fetal position.
I lost the game, yes, but I also lost my ability to have children. Curses on you soccer gods.
I haven't been able to touch a soccer ball since. The closest I've come to doing so is in its videogame incarnation where the fear of a ball striking my manhood is erased. That is when I exact my revenge.
That is why I deserve this Winning Eleven 7 package.
My "package" was damaged...won't you let a broken man have this little victory?
Thank you.

I want to win this contest because I would rather not have to spend $40 to buy WE7 if I don't have to.
Who am I kidding, I'm going to buy it no matter what.
Anyway, a soccer experience. I played soccer for most of my time in school. I wasn't the best player on the field, but I wasn't the worst either. I was an assist machine and helped my team out by putting the ball in just the right spot so someone else had an easy goal rather than scoring one myself. In my ten or twelve years of playing I only scored twice, but that was OK since for most of those years I was on the best team in the area.
It was all good.

I have been playing soccer ever since I was four years old and have grown to be a good soccer player. I have played all over the country, from California to Virginia to New York, and else where. I love the sport and am playing intramurals now in college. I would be on the team but I simply cannot find the time to pledge myself to such an intense sport while trying to conentrate on studies.
I have played some soccer games over the years, but none have been that great. The Fifa games are alright, but they still lack a sense of what the game is all about. I am curious about this game if it can be the one that will put all the others to shame or not. Hopefully it will.

I personally don't like sports games, so winning isn't a big deal for me. I would like to win though so I can give the prizes to my roommate. He currently plays soccer at my college and has been a starter since freshman year. This year he was unable to play for most of the season because he got a pinched nerve in his spine. I figured getting him this would allow him to play soccer, even if he can't physcially play right now (and he may never be able to play again since the pain has still not gone away.) But, to whoever wins, congratualations.

When I was in HK, every game store have this game for display, but not alot of people notice of this game here.
I want to win this contest because FIFA is god awful and WE is the only soccer game worth owning. :)
I used to play soccer a lot in high school. Been hit in the face dozens of times trying to put a header on the other team's shots on goal. Soccer = fun.

Here's why I deserve this game. Because I am sick.
1) I play soccer on two co-ed rec-league teams at the moment, one of which I coach and manage. During Spring and Fall I am on a third team.
2) I watch an average of three Premiership soccer games per week, sometimes four, depending on what I can squeeze in. I also watch the EPL Review show on Fox Sports.
3) My most checked websites besides this one are soccer.com and soccernet.espn.go.com.
4) I just started playing fantasy league Premiership soccer on-line.
5) During World Cup 2002 I was waking up at 3:30 and 4:00 in the morning to watch a game before I had to catch the train to work at 6:45.
6) My wife and I are foregoing all vacations for the next two years so that we can take a month off and go to World Cup 2k6 in Germany. No joke.
7) Last summer I went to Limerick, Ireland for a week. The best part of the trip by far was being in a pub (www.lockebar.com), drinking Guinness, and watching Chelsea and Man U tie up 2-2 with what seemed like everyone in Limerick.
8) I currently have every PS2 edition of FIFA, all played endlessly, as well as WE6.
9) I am currently remodeling my basement rec room into a "sports bar" of sorts with a soccer theme...
EDIT: Now I really deserve this game...last night during a league game, I dislocated my kneecap cutting a guy off after catching up with him on a breakaway. I blocked the shot and made the sacrifice. Now I'll be out of the game for at least two weeks. My dedication should TOTALLY be rewarded...
I want to win this contest for my brother. He's a strange creature, and enjoys simple things. He borrowed his friends copy of Winning Eleven 6 a few days ago, and he's been playing it nonstop. He calls it "Pele" (despite the fact that he isn't in the game), because he is stupid, and can't remember the name Winning Eleven 6. It's quite annoying. The most annoying part is he monopolizes my PS2. It would simply be more bearable if he weren't playing an outdated game. Sometimes I come home to find him on my computer playing something stupid like online poker games, or other fruitless games of poor quality.

I played soccer in grade school. On the playground I became a legend amongst my fellow sixth graders. I invented the "butt block", which I taught my companions to utilize during kicks after fouls near our goal. I'd line them up like a general and preach them to bend over and take a blow for the team.
I was called into the vice principal for this.
I want to win this because I've never won anything in my life. No contest has ever blessed me with its prizes. Please, announce me as winner....not for my own glory, but for all of those battles I fought and won on the field. I am the deserving general who never got his just medals and stripes.

My best experience in soccer was this...
When I was in an indoor soccer league, I wasn't always that great. I was being made fun of and yelled at by both the other team and my team. We were tied up, close to the end of the game. I was a defender. The ball was kicked by the other goalie to our side of the field. It was meant for one of their players, but I charged up my kick, and kicked the ball as hard as I could. When I kicked it, all you heard was a thundering crack and a sea of red part from the path of the ball(the other teams color was red). It went straight into the goal all the way from the defensive side. I was so proud.
The reason I want to win this game is because I have never played a very good soccer game for videogames, and this game looks like its going to be awesome. Thanks for letting me write my life story.

I want to win this game so i can add to my measly PS2 library. Believe it or not, the last game for ps2 that i bought was Final Fantasy X, back when it was 50 bucks during xmas of 02. Since then i've been saving up for a pc upgrade with my measly 5 dollar a week allowance (700 mhtz processors are so over rated  ).
As for my soccer experience, i've personally never played the game, but during the summer i go see all my friends at their games (they're all girls, of course 8) ) Soccer is a very intense sport to watch, and all the soccer moms are great to get along with. I rented the last WE soccer game a couple months ago, and the graphics were truly amazing. Also, with all the great reviews for this WE soccer, can't turn down a free shot to win it :D

However, I constantly keep hearing about how good this series is by Konami. With all the great releases this year, I haven't the change left to get either Fifa or this title. However, being the cheap ass that I am... I figure I'll take the chance that I can get it for FREE! Yeah!!!

I want to win this contest because the prize is free. I am not into buying sports games, the only one I currently have right now is Gran Turismo 3 which is really racing. However, I enjoy playing any kind of game. I have only owned NHL 1997 (I think that is the year) which I got for my birthday, I never cared about hockey, but I had fun playing it with my dad. Once I was interested in soccer (makes more sense to call it football though) and wanted to join a team, but I was shy and quit, and now I do not care about joining, Mainly I try to win anything I can whenever I can.

I would like to win so I don't have to buy another soccer game (already have FIFA), plus I'd love to find out just how great this game is in comparison. My great soccer moments are many, not really involving the game so much but the ladies that play it! Oh how I'll miss those girls.

I actually don't play soccer myself... My girlfriend does. I enjoy watching her play, and actually tried to learn a few techniques myself. I've rented Winning Eleven 6 recently, and have been waiting for 7 to come out! Even if I don't win the contest, I'll still be getting the game... I can't wait!

I love SOCCER! Thats why I want this prize. Winning Eleven is far and away the best soccer series out there. Sure FIFA is pretty, but it can't touch E11. I still play E11-6 non-stop. The one downside is no real teams, but real players. Also I live in the GREATEST SOCCER TOWN IN AMERICA, COLUMBUS, OHIO. GO CREW. We love McBride and good luck in the EPL.

my only soccer experience was watching south korea do well in the last world cup. i would wake my butt up at 4 in the morning to watch them and also chilled with friends at a bar watching it. it was funny seeing some people really get into it, wearing face paint, dressed all in red and playing drums... actually it was annoying. anyway, i want to win a copy because my only soccer game is a fifa one from years back and it's about time i retired it. i think winning eleven 7 would be a worthy successor.

Awesome game! At least the past one was, so I'm looking forward to this one. I'd say the most interesting experience was when my backyard wrestling fed, the BSW, had a outdoor hardcore match that ended up in the middle of a junior soccer game. Needless to say, we couldn't just stop a match that was taping, so the refs were yelling at us as we quickly suplexed across the field. Ah, the memories.

I played soccer for years when I was a kid in Southern California. I am now the assistant soccer coach of my kids school in Northern California. He just recently got interested in the sport, and I think this game would inspire his interest a bit. We have a couple other ones, but they aren't that good or true to form. From what I hear of this game, it should be pretty nice.
Even if I don't win, I will still probably buy it for him. Thanks for the chance!!

Best soccer memory: Back in elementary school, my team had not won one game all season. Finally, in the very last game, against the league's best team, we won 4-1. They were literally twice our height, and my dad absolutely hated their head coach, so it was a sweet victory.
Reason I want to win: Not only does it look like a great game that I would want, but it would be cool to be the first person to win two contests on cheapassgamer.com.

My experiences of soccer are reminiscent of a fairly portly child forced to play a sport out of fear that he would grow gimongous. I remember enjoying it but being very, very tired with all the running. But whaddya know, I grew up to be one of the skinniest people I know so hooray for me. And why do I want to win the contest? Well, International Superstar Soccer 98 for N64 rocked hard as hell and although I never got to play winning eleven 6, I know 7 will be as good or probably better than any other videogame soccer experience I've ever had. Good luck to everyone. Thanks for the deals CAG.
I bought a overpriced import PS2 just to play Winning Eleven 5. It took a few years before Konami decided to bring WE to the states.
Been a soccer nut all my life. And I need a WE soccer jersey to complete my life

I remember playing soccer in elementary school when a guy tried to head a ball in midair, but since he was just a kid, the ball hit him in the head and spun him around. He landed on his head. It was funny seeing it happen when I was a kid, but now its just plain sad and painful. (The guy turned out to be fine btw... he was pretty stupid back then, but now he's like a genius.)

I was hooked w/ soccer since the last world cop. My brothers and his friends came to our apt. and watched the mathes there. They also 'compete' on PS2 FIFA soccer.
I didn't understand what the fuss all about (mainly because I didn't understand the rules) but now I can't get enough. So winning this game would mean that I have another game to 'crush' my bros. :)

Soccer is my favorite sport in the world to watch and especially to play. In fact, I don't watch much TV...except for soccer matches! I even got satellite TV to get Fox Sports World, the best channel in the U.S. for soccer. As for playing, I try to play at least once a week, more if possible, all conditions (even snow :)). I love the game, its history, players, fans...everything but the hooliganism. :? I even have my username at several sites, including this one, as a tribute to one of the greatest players of all time.
My favorite soccer game right now is International Superstar Soccer '98 for N64. I even have two memory cards dedicated to that game: one for current international squads and the other for the all-time best teams from every nation. I really love playing Brazil with Pele, Garrincha, Zico, etc. as I do other countries with their famous players. England with Matthews, Lineker, Hurst, Banks? Yes yes yes please.
Anyway I need WE7 badly, since I just got a PS2 and I can't find WE6 anywhere. Thanks for running such a cool contest. CAG forever! 8)

I want to win because I am going to sell this game on ebay so I can have food for the week since I don't have cash. Then, to recreate the experience I'm missing, I'm going to go out and play real soccer and pretend I'm the next incarnation of ronaldo, which I'm not, because if I was, then I wouldn't have to sell games for food. Maybe I'll pretend to be one of the piss-poor pissants that play so call MLS soccer here..

I'll be honest. My first soccer experience wasn't too great. My history of soccer goes back to my playing days when I was a wee lad (aka kindergarten). My parents made me join a team because my best friend at the time was in. The only good thing was that the team's name was the Sidekicks and that happened to be the name of the indoor club here but we had to wear some icky purple uniforms. Ack! The only goal I scored was during practice one day and just my luck, I got a whammy and scored against my own side... ](*,) Needless to say, our team didn't do too well but I remember making a slide to break up a pass in our final game, we lost it but hey, I kinda sorta contributed. I still have that cheap generic soccer player trophy that they gave out to everyone just for trying... I sucked at soccer and I'm prolly even worse at it now but sometimes it really doesn't matter if you do well or fall flat on your face as long as you can look back on it 19 years later and a smile appears across your face just by thinkin back at the fun you had when there wasn't a care in the world... I don't think this had anything to do with the whole "why I deserve to win" but I just felt like tellin my lil story... :D

"Football" is really big in Thailand. At my old high school, the 12 graders arranged a football league during recess for everyone who was interented. Each team would have replica jerseys, choose a team name, discuss the tactics and such. It was fun.
When I came here, I joined the high school soccer team. In my opinion, the high school league was really good, especially because we got to play a lot of games. It was a different experience :D

My only soccer experiences date back to my high school PE days. I was a terrible soccer player and put myself in the back to defend. So one time while I was watching the action on the other side of the field, the ball somehow squirted out and the opposing team's star player took control of the ball. Everyone else was still on the other side and it was just me and the goalie against him--so I did what any sane person would do. I visibly gave up and started walking away to give him a clear shot and to keep me out of harm's way. He sees me walk away and he takes his shot...but somehow the ball strays away from the goal and straight towards me, and that thing smacked right up against my butt. He claims he wasn't aiming for me, but....
Well luckily video games are very different from reality...and I actually enjoy soccer video games.

I want to win this competition simply because Winning Eleven 7 is THE soccer game to have for the PS2.
I've played WE6:FE with my friends and we loved it. We even have tournaments sometimes.
As for soccer memories, I played soccer with buddies a lot, always acting as a defender. Anyway it was dead heat, both teams tied at 3-3. I decided to run up(for fun really) and scored the winning goal. Not too shabby for an out of shape video gamer.. :P

I don't own a soccer game and this is supposed to be the best so I wouldn't mind it coming my way.
I haven't been to or played in a soccer in a while, but when I was yonger I used to play daily. I even started up a whole league (well four teams really) along with my best friend while in grade school. We played everyday and it was great fun for the six months it lasted.
Aside from reliving my former "glory," the game would also give me somthing to play with my cousin when he visits. He plays soccer for his high school so this will be perfect for us.
Thanks for considering me.

Regretably now i can't play soccer because of hip replacement due to a tumor in my hip joint. So this game would be pretty cool and could cheer me up.

This contest has really got me thinking about my experiences in playing soccer as a lad. I suppose I was around eight or so when I first played on a team with other kids. I was tall and ungainly but could hammer it upfield pretty well, and so usually found myself playing halfback or fullback. I believe what I lacked in speed I made up for in being imposing. The forwards were usually small and fleet, so if I positioned myself right they'd often get nervous and make a mistake egregious enough for me to stick my big awkward foot in and deprive them of the ball. An incident comes to mind with one of the opposing team's forwards...I guess I was around ten at the time. One day this forward was just laying into me with his cleats...I had shin guards on, but it really started to tick me off. So much so that the next time it happened, I decked him. He went down like a rock and then started bawling. I immediately felt bad, and I still do.
I also remember playing soccer on my old C-64. It was a cartridge game...we didn't even have a disk-drive yet. It was so primitive in retrospect, but to my brother and I it was state-of-the-art! We had hours of fun controlling the little pixelated players with our bright red joysticks with the white buttons on top. Does anyone remember that first soccer cartridge for the C-64?
I'd sure like to win this soccer title, but even if luck fails me I'll still have this nice trip down memory lane as consolation prize.

Why I want to win, basically because I just purchase a ps2, and I have a soccer game for my gamecube, and xbox, sega slam, and fifa, pretty much I have a soccer game for every other system except my ps2, I am also curious about the gameplay of this new soccer game, I wonder if it can match up to fifa, my favorite team is brazil, the bad soccer experience I had was when I was playing in someone almost knock me over trying to get the ball to score a goal for there team, also I am surprized that Konami is doing this game, and it is suppose to be good? Konami is good with games like metal gear solid, even yu-gi-oh, atleast i enjoyed those two well here is good luck to everyone...

I haven't owned any soccer games on any of the next-gen consoles, however I played a demo of FIFA 2003, and was absolutely blown away. It was actually more fun playing than than real soccer.
I'll be honest, soccer is only my second favorite sport, behind basketball, but I love playing it, and I'm actually pretty good as well, considering I haven't played it on any competitive league or team.
Really when you think about it, there are too many great moments in soccer to name; guys getting hit in crotch, someone getting hit repeatedly because someone can't kick right (PE soccer), people who end up headbutting each other while going for a header, etc.

I want to win because I'm English, living in America, and after having played the game for pretty much all of the first 29 years of my life, I miss it terribly here in the US. Seeing as this is about the closest I can get to kicking a ball around competitively, this would do the job nicely. I'd still call it 'football', though! :D
One of the funniest moments I remember happened on a rainy night. We were playing five-a-side football, and we were walking to the pitch. Four of us were soaking wet, and the fifth member of our team was laughing at us as he walked down to the pitch with his metal umbrella up, shielding himself from the rain. Just then, a lightning strike lit up the sky, and you've never seen anyone get rid of an umbrella so fast! During the ninety minutes, I've never been as wet in my life, but at least we won!

I have played soccer nearly all of my life. My most fond experience that I can remember was back in middle school in a rec soccer tournament and the score was tied at the end of regulation. Since it was a tournament game it went to penalty shots. I had the 5th and final shot and it ended up that it could be the winning goal. I shot it on the ground to the right and the goaly guessed correctly, it hit his finger tips but still had enough velocity to continue through and into the goal. I was rushed by my team mates and picked up on to their shoulders. It is something I will never forget. I would like to win this contest because I would like to play a much more realistic game then fifa offers. That is why Iwant this game.

I used to play soccer for like 8 years untill i gave it up like 3 years ago. When I was like 6 I remembered we played this one team that was insanely good. In the first five minutes we lost are goalies to injuries (bloody noses). Our team starting just putting anyone in to be goalie. I played for like 2 minutes but i got hit in the stomach really hard and couldnt breathe. At one point we didn't have a goalie because my team was $$$s. I want to win because I've heard great things for Winning Eleven and i love all soccer games. Totti rules...

Well my soccer experiences are limited. But when I was about 10 or 11 me and my neighbors used to play. One of them was on the high school soccer team and he always used to kick that ball so hard and fast I couldnt move fast enough to get out of the way. To make things worse my team always made me the goalie. Now three broken noses and a bunch of bruises later it would be nice to have some compensation. Or at least a game where I can kick a ball at someone else and hopes it breaks their nose. Thats what Im talking bout :)

I want to win this game because I have never played a soccer game as of yet. I have always wanted to buy one of the older FIFA games but they never seem to go down below $10 w/ shipping on eBay or any place else. I'm still a cheapass, you know! I am not a fan of renting either because most of the time, I can find the game for around the same price as the $5 rent cost, if it is an old game.
About soccer experience, I never played in a team but I did play w/ the brothers and neighbor a lot when I was younger. My neighbor's family were all about soccer so he played and his little sister had to play also. I did have fun playing soccer in the snow back then, especially when school was cancelled because of the snow!

As a young childe I began playing soccer in the 6-9 division. In that division is learned and played around a lot and had lots of fun. Then as I became older I kept on becoming more and more tired of soccer. Although I am very good at it, it just seems like it's not my sport. So please, if you know the correct thing to do, give this great prize package to me, and you will be rewarded in the future. I do believe this is the kind of thing that will get me back into soccer again so i can ugh... KICK SOME ASS!!!

i used to play in elementary school. i was a good goalie, because i was tall. anyway, our coach would always play with us, and we were like 10 years old back then. well, the coach was playing on the opposite team and i was in goal. we were wearing shorts, and the coach comes up to shoot and SLAMS the shit out of the ball and it hits me in the side of my thigh. it burned so badly.
also, i've gotten nailed in the nuts many a time, although i don't play soccer anymore. basketball became more appropriate considering my size.
i want WE 7 because, first, WE 6 was awesome and i can't wait to play 7. second, i want to show my friend, a soccer fanatic, plays it in reality and in games. he's stuck on FIFA, although i keep telling him how superior WE is. WE 6 was great.

Man, when I was little my parents made me join a soccer team for the town we lived in. My team was called the "Riddles". First of all, I wasn't too happy to HAVE to play soccer. Second, the name of my team made me want to play even less. The Riddles? C'mon! We were named after some "mom and pop" bar in town. I hope that place is out of business now. Now as an adult, I still get teased by my younger brother sometimes because he's tha jock and I'm the quiet, artistic one. Sure, he's 5 years younger than me, and can kick my sorry ass. BUT, I always win when we play Winning Eleven 6. It makes me feel better. I hope I can kick his ass in Winning Eleven 7 too. :P

Why I want to win this game? Well, my father was a professional soccer player, I play soccer, and my son loves soccer, and I would like to win this game so that I would play with him. We go back to Brazil every year, and he (my son) takes soccer classes with an ex-world cup player that played with Pele in the 60s.

When I was twelve I played on my school soccer team. I took a free kick from about the half line and it went directly to the net. The goalie was really short and he got his fingertips on the ball but it bounced into the net.
I want to win this game because I played a demo of Winning Eleven 6 and I thought it would be a great multiplayer game.

I was introduced to soccer in Germany while stationed there with my family and continued to play through HS. My fondest soccer memory was walking the streets of Rome with my parents when the locals learned that had won the World Cup '82. It was madness! While Winning Eleven may not have all the flashy licenses that EA has acquired for the FIFA series, it still remains a franchise with some of the best gameplay out there. If I win this contest, I shall return to Germany for the FIFA World Cup 2006 competition, cheer for the USA and sport cheapssgamer.com gear to each game I attend! Scoring a copy of Winning Eleven will pump me up for a visit to the World Cup.
my in person soccer experiences were limited to gym class at various schools, however, my friend Kim used to date a exprofessional soccer player from Canada.
She met him online {I forget his real name, but his online name was "trance"} after they were together for a while, he moved in with her in the same house she was living in with her soon-to-be ex-husband .
We lost touch soon after that, but I always wondered what she told the soon-to-be ex-husband in particular about that living situation-- must have been interesting when he found out the other guy was moving in;-)

I played soccer for 7 years (4th-11th grade), but in my 11th year I had a serious knee injury (I tore my ACL).
Ever since the surgury I can't run the same anymore, so I was forced to quit.
I believe I diserve to win because I'm an avid gamer and I have much love for the game of soccer.

When I was about 8 years old, I played in the AYSO league, my team's name was the Hotshot's, a few of my friends were on the team as well. I played goalie, and I was pretty good at the time, especially for an 8 year old. We barely got to the semi-finals, we were playing the Knights who had a better recors than us. On the last half the score was 2-2, and about three minutes. One of the players on my team kicks it toward the goal, but the goalie blocked it. The Goalie rolled it to one of his players, and he was heading right for me, I became nervous for the whole team, he then kicks it, I get a piece of the ball, but it goes in and they win.
I would like this game because I would like to feel what being in a Championship is like. Plus I played the demo for Winning Eleven 6 and I loved it, but being the cheap ass gamer that I am, I couldn't afford it.

Winning Eleven is the best sports game ever made. Konami's longest sports series is not really popular in U.S, but It is already very popular in Japan. I need this game because I can't live without this game!
My best moment in soccer has to be when south korea won 4 or 5 game in a row in last worldcup (because they never won any game before that) I am big fan of soccer. Enough said!

I played soccer all through grade school, usually at halfback. Much later, I went to a lot of my little brother's games as he played for about 15 years. I want to win this game because the last decent soccer game I bought was FIFA on the the genesis and I want to update with the best.

I was the soccer champion in my district for ten years running. It's in my blood. A life without soccer is no life at all.
Actually, all of that is a big fat lie. :) I haven't played soccer since I was very young, and I doubt I was very good at it, but I've always loved soccer games - World Championship Soccer on Genesis, FIFA on 3D0, Goal Storm on PSX, International Superstar Soccer on N64, and so on.

Supposedly this is one of the best soccer games ever. I remember back when I was in college we played intramural soccer. It had rained horendously the day before. The field was so muddy you'd sink an inch or two while walking. I must have fallen on my butt 3 times that game, but it was so fun. We lost, but it was worth it.
I wanna win because my brother is obsessed with Sega Soccer Slam and I wanna show him what a real Soccer game is like.

i was a coach for the c-squad back in high school. the c-squad was for all the kids who wanted to play soccer, but either couldn't or didn't want to make jv or varsity. bunch of god damn slackers, just like me. i sucked at soccer, but i was a hell of a coach. you can always make up for ignorance with push-ups and laps liberally assigned. when i was a wee sophomore on the c-squad we made t-shirts to support or scrimmage teams. on the back was the faculty coach's face, smiling apocalyptically. a beautiful thing. i still have the shirt ten years later.
oh and this year is my turn to buy the soccer game. my friends and i alternate. my boy jonny bought we6, it's now my turn to buy we7. and i, my brothers, am a cheap ass gamer. free sounds about right to me.

I also attended a pro soccer game in Honduras, although we had to leave early due to the rowdy crowd, they can get pretty crazy down there.

I've been playing on soccer teams since I was a youngin' . Cep't back then, I had to walk eight miles, IN THE SNOW, to play it, butt naked too. Nowadays people play soccer on "video games" ... pshhh. I think I deserve this game because of the many years of freezing my schtuff  off (in the snow) while playing some good ol' soccer.
This game will help me feed my family of thirteen and help me put them through college. You wouldn't want to deprieve my children of their edumacation would you?

I want to win this contast, because I have never played any of the previous six installments.
And... becuase of my lack of knowledge of the sport. See, my girlfriend is Colombian and she played soccer in high school. Today, she likes to sit down and watch matches from her home country. I just recently got her into video games, so I figure let's put 2 and 2 together. If I win I would burn the game out playing with her and her brother (he is 17, and also likes soccer) From what I have seen the game is very good , which, I feel would allow us to play on a frequent basis. Oh and if I do win I will post a pic of my girl in her soccer uni ;)
Thanks for the oppurtunity Cheapy!

I've played soccer my whole life. Or football as it should be called. Ever since school I was in different teams. Now that I'm in college I only play on Sundays with some friends and family. I've had multiple ankle injuries(they're screwed up) because of my love for the game. Simply put, I just don't know when to stop. =p
I'm from Costa Rica, where we breath football. I love Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane. My favorite players of All Time are Franco Baresi(Il Capitano) and Marco van Basten. Kaka will be the best in the world in a few years and Costa Rica will win the 2006 WC in Germany. :D
I own every Winning Eleven released. Over here in Latin America it's an obsession. Everyone plays it day and night because it's the greatest gift God could ever give us. =p
In short, the Winning Eleven games are the greatest form of entertainment ever created. 8)

The only soccer game I vividly remember playing is Neo Geo's Soccer Brawl. SNK had sponsored a 3 day video game tournament at the University of Notre Dame my sophomore year there. After a couple of grueling days competing against tons of other students in various games, I ended up playing Soccer Brawl in the Finals vs some guy who was a pro at Soccer Brawl in the Student Union arcade. I spent about 2 bucks practing the night before, and I ended up beating him something like 5-2. :-) I took home a brand new Neo Geo Gold System and got my picture in EGM. If you have the issue with SNES Turtles in Time on the cover, I'm in there near the Reader's section!

I want to win because soccer is the greatest game on Earth and I am to cheap ass to go buy WE7 until the price drops. All of my life, I have participated in soccer. I love to play on my Playstation almost as much as in real life. The Playstation also gives my two eldest children (8 and 5) a fighting chance at winning. Although I'm not the best at the actual game, I have become quite fond of the video game version of the World's most popular sport. Most of my experience is with the FIFA licensed games, but I have heard great things about Winning Eleven and look forward to playing it--and a free copy of it would be even better.
Also, I make it a point to beat my friend at least once a week in FIFA. Another game to prove my gaming dominance is always welcome

I play soccer for my school, and hae been playing all my life. When I was younger, in u10-13 league, I was in the game and the ref was a kid(about 17 years old). I was playing defence(favorite position) and the other team was pressing in. They came near me, I steal the ball, then do whats natural, kick it. Well, i should have looked before I kicked because the ref was right infront of me and the ball nailed him right in the groin!
He bent over in pain, but the ball rolled back to me, KICK! The ball hit him in the butt and the kid fell over. Everyone stopped playing. At fisrt he laughed with everyone, but in a few seconds(when the pain registered) he started to cry. I felt bad for the guy, and I hope he can have children.
i would love to have this game, I hear great things about it and I could really use having a new soccer game! The last one that I got and enjoyed was World Cup for NES.

Only time I really played real-life soccer was intramurals in college. "How hard could a header be?" I asked myself. I've hit headers all my life in videogame soccer, I said to myself. So the first time I tried a header, the ball hit me flush in the face. I've stuck to videogame soccer since.

Why I want this game...hmm, better way to say is why DONT I want this game. I have heard that Winning Eleven 7 is easily the best footie game EVER. More can I say than that? I loved Winning Eleven 6 and if, somehow, WE7 is even better, I simply MUST own this game. I have enjoyed soccer my entire life, however without have a local team to play on, I can only get my fix by playing soccer video games. WE6 was insanley awesome. And WE7 is better. This is a NEED for me to have. Please, I ask, no, I BEG of you, to please give me this game.

I'd like to win this package because I absolutely love the sport that I've been playing since I was 4 and I watch the Mexican, Argentine, and English leaugues. With this game I know I can edit my own game the way i always wanted.
A good soccer experience I had is when my first high school game in which team was losing 2-0 by the half and then one of our midfielders scored a goal from at least 20 yards. Then I got substituted in as a forward (Natural pos.) and scored one goal right away then I had penalty but missed so I was really devasted but I still kept my head up until we finally had a great run as the ball was in my control I ran as fast as I could to outrun the defender and by luck I just happen to barely see my teammate at the corner of my eye. as the goalie was trying to stop me I passed the ball right away and we scored for the tie. It made our rivals pissed off so much one of them fouled one of my teammates so hard he was ejected and later I scored another with pure ease and my friend even scored another for us so at the end the score was 4-2 as we scored 4 goals in the second half.

I was like 8 years old playing soccer and my coach put me as goalie. I never played goalie before, and when I tried to drop-kick the ball it went backwards over my head and scored for the other team. So I started crying and my coach put in a new goalie.

I want to win this contest simply because every I soccer isn't really my sport to watch nor to play(school or league). But it's actually quite entertaining playing on the console. After playing FIFA, I was pretty much hooked. It might be strange liking a soccer game but refusing to play or watch a REAL soccer game, but hey, that just proves that these games aren't too bad. So all in all, I want to win this contest because I love soccer video games, just something about them that keeps you playing and playing. At least scoring isn't as easy(in comparison to basketball).
NOTE: It's funny how some people's first posts come from this topic lol.

Anyway, I hope to win this contest because I love "football" (aka soccer) and I have been playing Konami soccer games since ISS 64. As for soccer stories I played soccer for six years before quitting to play ice hockey. Then is college I started playing intramural soccer again but as a goal keeper. My first game back I played to a 1-1 tie against the eventual tourament winners. Made 7 saves. My second game posted by first win ever as a GK with a shutout. Since then, I can't get enough football in my life.

I've always been terrible at soccer but I played it a lot when I was a kid, mainly because I avoided football and baseball like the plague. I had a friend in middle who was a huge enthusiust of the sport, though. After, one game in particular, he ended up doing major damage to his knee. He was stuck on crutches for two years while they did exploratory surgery on his knee. He used to hobble around, hitting people in the groin randomly and they couldn't do anything because he was crippled. I think it was the best time of his life. He even invented a bizarre dance where he would lift both legs off the ground and walkin circles as if on stilts. We would try to trip him as he did this but this only led to us being repeatedly hit in the crotch. He still plays soccer, despite the fact his knee swells with fluid to about the size of a softball by the end of the game. As long as it keeps him happy I have no objection. I just hope he doesn't get put back on crutches again. I still want to have children someday.

I have always hated watching soccer on TV, until in 2000 the US women's team beat China in a shootout (you know, when Brandy Chastain took her shirt off). For some reason I watched that game from beginning to end. I think the fierce, competitive nature of that game drew me in. Since that game I have not watched another soccer match on TV. Why? I think soccer as a spectator sport suck. But playing it is fun as heck. Soccer video games I do not have too much experience in. Heck, no experience. I think if I won Winning Eleven 7 I would come to appreciate the fine nature of soccer. But maybe not. In either case I know I would enjoy WE7 because I'm not watching it, I'm playing it.

I remember playing soccer in high school gym class. I was damn good. I loved impressing my classmates, teachers (and even myself) every time I played, even though I was a sports-lovin' tomboy who excelled in many sports. The fact that I'm female probably added to the allure, for this was LONG before the days of women's pro basketball and soccer leagues. I definitely had the respect of the girls AND the boys. I remember one boy excitedly saying "you scored a hat trick!" And even though I had NO idea what that meant, I giddily high-fived him anyway (never a hockey fan, it would be years before I learned what that term meant!)
Now it's 20 years later...and I'm far removed from my tomboy days....but I will always fondly remember the admiration of my classmates at my athletic prowess. Forever an outcast in high school, playing soccer was one of the few ways I times treated (and felt) like a "star"...

I was born in Europe where soccer is sometimes more important than family, work, washroom breaks and any type of social life. I have watched all games with all the major european teams - Man U, Real Madrid etc. I have alot of soccer memories for example when i scored 4 goals in 1 game for my indoor team, and when i received a red card for kicking the ball at the opposing teams coach. When I'm not playing on the field i play soccer video games and I can say that the Winning Eleven series blows any other soccer games out of the water. I bought Winning Eleven 6 the day it came out and I still have not stopped playing it.With all the improvements that are going to be in Wiinning Eleven 7 I cannot say how much I need to own this game, and it would help if i got it free like the cheap ass that I am. What more can I say GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLl!

When I was 10, my parents let me play soccer for the YMCA. I played for 4 years and I was a pretty good goalie/defensemen, since we couldn't play one position for the whole game. I was tough, one game it was raining, the ball was kicked at me I went to pick it up and my teammate, the defensemen at the time, was also trying to help me by kicking it away, but he didn't see me diving for the ball. He dived to kick the ball away, but I had my arms wrapped around it, so his cleets got me in the face, it hurt like hell, but I was only out for a few minutes, and I luckily wasn't bleeding either. He was really sorry, but I told him it was okay, and to just let me have the ball when I am going for it.
I want to win this contest because I haven't played soccer in a league since then, only in gym, and I've been looking to get a soccer game recently, and WE7 seems like a perfect game to get back into the sport with.

i want this game to see if it's the real deal. I thought Fifa 2002 and 2003 are the best, but it could be proven wrong if it's what people say so.

I had to play megaman soccer as a kid...so winning this contest will help me reconcile my fear of soccer(or football for our worldwide friends)

I was coached by my Dad as a kid and I remember him being very supportive and fair to all the players on our team (it was rec ball so you had to play everyone).
My greatest sports moment ever was when I was playing soccer for my Dad in a U14 league. It was late into the second half of a game and we were down 3 to 2. Our team was frustrated because we were outplaying the other team, but somehow they were winning after scoring two goals in a row. Playing sweeper, I went up to help on a corner kick. The ball sailed into the middle, got kicked around a bit, then found its way to the center of the box, where I was. Not even thinking, I just nailed the ball and it flew past the keeper into the bottom right of the goal! Celebrations ensued. We were glad to at least come away with a tie.
A couple of minutes later, we again had another corner kick. I remember my left defender asking me if he could go take the shot. Grinning, I again took my spot at the top of the box, my Dad telling us to move up and take positions. This time the ball sailed high and bounced awkwardly in front of a defender who tried to clear the ball and miss kicked it. Again, it rolled towards me and I shot an awkward shot with my toe. The ball lifted high and flew over the jumping keeper! Needless to say, my team exploded in excitement. We were ecstatic when we won the game. I remember my Dad telling me how proud he was of me.
Now being in college I guess I would want to win this game for my Dad, who is still crazy about soccer and still coaches kids. He's a great guy and it would be fun to play this game with him and relive some exciting soccer moments!
