Doesn't seem to be many people with problems which is good. I find it interesting that the 360 lights are also used to tell what problems it is having. I remember a modem doing the same thing.

I'm curious how the store demo 360s are staying on for 8 hour periods, with little problem, but these consoles are having problems.

Never buy lunch.

But if there's no such thing as a free lunch, does that mean I have to wait till dinner to eat?

just wait till when all the people who paid 800 + on ebay start doing Chargebacks cause the sellers sold them broken systems....

Maybe because they have that huge ass fan in the kisok.

Guess what they are having problems with kiosk too. I just went to the Gamestop by my job and found out that the display wouldn't play for several hours today because for some reason it over heated and when they left it unplugged for a couple of hours it finally started to work again.

I hope when I get one next summer it isn't a lot of these problems still going on.

Pretty soon the enormous external power supplies are going to start catching fire.

That is one honking huge power supply, to be sure. I wasn't able to find the power supply rating--anybody with a 360 know what kind of wattage this thing needs?

Most of the problems are due to crappy shipping. Wouldn't be surprised if everyone who got theirs from Fed Ex or UPS are busted. The 360 must be handled like a baby, not treated like crap by a Fed Ex guy whose doing his Ace Ventura impression with the package.

And a lot of the overheating problems are due to 2 things:

People throwing their 360 into a cramped entertainment center, then closing the glass doors or otherwise keeping the system from letting the heat out.

Keep the power supply AWAY from the 360, putting heat next to heat can only result in.............HEAT.

My 360 has been nothing but smooth since I got it.

yea this worries me, i never buy launch but i decided to with this. initially i had my 360 laying down and i found that it was heating up like hell. so i stood it up and it cooled off a bit after that. i'm pretty happy with it so far though. it's exciting, my first launch console and i waited all night in the rain for it so i appreciate it even more.

That would suck... the mega-fresh power supply was the only reason I was even partly interested in the 360. I think it would look pretty sweet anywhere in my home. In fact, if I did buy a 360, I'd hide the system in a cabinet and just display the power supply.

I'd also get a 5.1 surround sound system so I could more effectively drown out the hum and whir of the internal fan.

The xbox 360 does have a bunch of and powerful componets in one tight space from what i got to see in that website where they opened one , and that's the problem , it should have been the same size or all the technology suggest even bigger than the first xbox , but of course microsofts first xbox was too big for all of us and the complaints got to them and they were not bound to make the same mistake !
