They clame new xbox 360 are coming in on 11-30. I don't know how reliable this site is, but thought this would be helpful to all of those searching for one.

Edit: There seems to be some confusion about why I put this here. I was simply trying to inform people on this site (Which I just found) about a potential shipments of Xbox 360's. I have NO affiliation with Atomic Park or any other major or minor retailers.

$900 and you have to wait until the 30th? You can find better deals on eBay.

do you think those numbers are true though? a shipment of 875 and another of 2000? if a no name place like this can get a boat load, then whats gonna be in the walmart warehouse? is microsoft holding out?

fraeone
11-26-2005, 10:26 PM
If anything, those numbers compared with that price are the biggest evidence it's fake. With huge chain stores getting low allotments, what are the chances that MS would send 2875 360s to some no-name that charge over 200% MSRP? On the other hand, according to resellerratings that store has been around for a while (although they seem prone to shadyness).

Here's hoping the numbers are true though, it's time for the ebay hustle to end. I have suspected for a while that MS has been holding out, to make sure that there were none on the shelves for BF, freaking parents out. If AtomicPark is getting that many, BB is getting a bazillion.

thagoat

it looks too good to be a fake sight. thats the only thing. its too polished for a fake. if those numbers are correct, then microsoft pulled a fast one on all of us. damn evil bill gates!

greenbags125

Only those indie sites can possibly charge these exorbitant rates for a game console. Best Buy cannot charge a penny more than the MSRP of the console/bundled games/accessories.

I talked to a few different wholesalers and some had 50,000 units(premium) ready to go. No one has purchased them yet. I talked to a few other wholesalers and for $275 you could get a preimum system However they were wanting you to buy 2,000-10,000 at a time. So yes M$ is holding them back and creating the demand. I assume M$ saw the episode of south park and cartman land. M$ also stated that they will have 6 million console out by feb.

Yeah, false demand...
but yeah, the OP's deal is crap but i think the info is important. If alot of stores are going to be getting thoes ammounts of systems, this shortage is going to come to an end real fast.

kill3r7
11-27-2005, 03:36 PM
Microsoft created the shortage themselves in hopes of creating a buzz about the system. In a way Xbox360 now has become the "Toy" to have this Xmas. So now by controlling the shipments and the amount of systems available Microsoft will be able to keep momentum through the holiday season.

Anyway you look at it, if you want the system bad enough you'll find at your local stores before christmas, except now you'll have to put in some effort into getting it.

My next door neighbor could say that he's getting 20 360's from a "friend" and am I going to believe him? I appreciate the effort OP but next time put that 900 dollars in the tag and see how many views you get.

Forgive me if I don't take their word for it. A core, let alone a premium system, costs more than $275 wholesale. I seriously doubt anyone is just sitting on 50,000 of these, not able to find any buyers.

That could mean 6 milliom Xbox's AND 360 units combined... Microsoft CEO's are tricky bastards and we all know it. From the ass of well... the ass's MS said their launch in the UK and Japan they are only going to have 20 Premium 360's at launch and like 40-50 Core. and that is in a market they know they blowass in.

wow 999 for a core...

im still on the hunt for one but im not desperate like most idiots paying 800 dollars for a premium. it's funny when i call stores like best buy or wal mart they all say they're not getting any until january or later... do they really think microsoft is going to hold out on them before christmas? there is a shortage right now (intentional or not) but seriously... don't you think a company like microsoft would know when the money is going to be made? we'll see plenty before christmas. everyone who wants one will get one. as long as you dont wait till the week before christmas i really don't think it will be THAT big of a problem.

fyi i work at a gamecrazy and i guess someone higher up in the company (probably a DM or something) told our manager to expect the 2nd shipment this tuesday. i'll let you guys know if we got any or not on that day.

i dont know im thinking... if you guys really are only getting a shipment in mid december maybe you're getting way more than 36 (just a thought). thats alot of time for xbox 360s to be made. right now that's somewhere around 2 - 3 weeks. and with microsoft working 24/7 on them... plenty will be made. maybe smaller stores like the game crazy im working at willl just get random small shipments for the next few weeks and your wal mart will get an assload alll at once in mid december. that seems like it would make sense but then again i really dont know shit. im just pointing out a possibility. and like i said before i expect to see alot within the next few weeks. microsoft knows what they're doing.

Microsoft started production in august.

Microsoft failed to meet their 650,000 goal and hit only 450,000 by november 22nd.

I'd like to see how many more they can produce in a month. I doubt stores will be receiving much more than they did on launch.

Atomic Park is legit although I don't know anything about the 360 claim. Atomic Park is mainly a software reseller. I have purchased software from them several times going back to the dot.com days. Usually when a new software product launches you can pick up the older version there cheap. Not ideal in most cases, but clients who are behind in licensing can get caught up quick and for cheap when this occurs...

Thinking back I only have purchase Norton and Microsoft Software from the site...

i don't know maybe you are completely right but i still believe that this is just microsoft's way of creating buzz about their cool new system. by telling people they didn't even make as many as they thought they would in 4 months then people (like me) will try even harder to get one. i still do not believe that microsoft fell into this launch shortage by accident. i just think microsoft is smarter than that even with a worldwide launch going on for the next month.

I don't know if anyone would care for this bit of information, but I live in Seattle area where Microsoft HQ is and spoken to couple Xbox 360 reps and they've said the main reason why they didn't hit their goal and there's such a large shortage is because they've been having problems manufactoring a specific part of the console which in turn could be responsible for the small amount of defects in the launch shipment. She didn't know which part it was, but thats what i learned. So i really doubt theres a large amount of 360s just collecting dust somewhere in a warehouse...

My 2.5 hour wait in line was worth it. :)

Only if you're planning to sell it through an online auction. . . Given that 13 of the roughly 20 games available for it are also on all the old systems (including the original Xbox), there isn't much reason to own 360 this holiday season other than "I'm the first one on my block with one" bragging rights.

Local Best Buy guy told me today the 18th as well. He said he expected 50 consoles (Olympia, WA) and that there would almost certainly be another overnight line to get them!!

Assuming he wasn't lying (and it matches with the information posted above) what we're looking at here is the first console to essentially have TWO launch days!

This is getting ridiculous.

i wonder if the specific part was...drum roll please......the hard drive! theres not a whole lot of them to be found either.

Call me crazy, but I doubt it was an off the shelf part such as the hard drive. If they're having yield problems with it, it's almost certainly something that they are custom producing such as... the infamous fan-including, yet still overheating power supply/ac adapter. I would put money on that.

The other interesting aspect of all this that I've been considering is that Microsoft's official "launch partner" Best Buy has been absolutely SHADY about this entire thing. First the reports of half the line being forced to buy a bundle (scumbags Circuit City did that too) and now they're clearly holding back those weekly shipments that MS has said multiple times are happening, until Dec. 18th, to try and create a second launch day sort of atmosphere.. Probably so they can sell more bundles. What a great launch partner! For all the complaining Best Buy does about their "devil customers" they seem to be as devilish a retailer as can be.

So consider this, Microsoft ships too few consoles the first week, to create an artificial shortage, and then floods the distributors with consoles, so that freaked out post black friday parents will snatch them up. Then their distribution/retail partners realize that they can make twice as much money by causing a shortage of their own, so they continue to withhold those systems, until a big, super-hyped day, saaay.. a week before christmas?

Everybody get ready for Dec 18! Xbox 360 launches! Again!

I called my local Best Buy (Baltimore, MD), they said either next week, or February.

Toys R Us said possibly in the next two weeks or January.

Blockbuster (cockbuster) told me to go fist myself.

Wal-mart said they have no bloody idea.

Sams Club said probably in January, which is strange because one of my buddies called them last week and they said Tuesday (tomorrow).

I didn't even bother calling any game retailers, I didn't feel like annoying them. I really don't know what to believe anymore.

Calling a store is totally pointless, unless you talk to a manger who has some idea of when product shipments come in. For one things most store employees do not actually see the shipping manifest. While the whole Best Buy theory is interesting and very possible, one things is for sure 360's will be in every ones local store before Christmas. We will not have to wait till Jan., Feb., or even Mar. before our local stores get shipments. If you are able to get one before Jan., Feb., or Mar. remains to be seen.

Riiight, because Managers unload shipments themselves... ;)

Have you ever worked retail? Nine times out of ten, the manager actually knows the least about products out of anyone in the store, and that is triple-true when it comes to videogames.

second-- best buy-- I'm guessing that second launch will be the second or third Tuesday in December. They told me the 16th at my local BB, but it's gotta be a Tuesday right? well, I'll see ya all in line.....AGAIN!! :( this time i'll be prepared with warmer clothes, a sleeping bag and a fucking flask of whiskey!

For all the complaining Best Buy does about their "devil customers" they seem to be as devilish a retailer as can be.

they are, for a number of reasons. not just the way they sell products and the impersonal way in which they handle customers, but also that they're quickly getting a monopoly in electronics retail.

but the best thing is the last parragraph:

I have worked retail at numerous retail chains and of course we all know Store Managers know the least of any one working in the store about games and the merchandise the goes along with them. But as mentioned above Dep. Managers see and sign the shipping manifest, so they have an idea of what is in their shipment. Therefoer these are the people to corner and question about our coveted Xbox 360!

Do most stores put items on shelves before the store opens? I had a couple of situations with Circuit City on new game releases and they've told me to come back at around noon.

i remember going through this same situation when the ps2 was scarce around launch. i called everywhere one day and randomly a best buy by my house said they had 26 or so in stock they had just got in. they DID NOT put them out on the floor though. i don't know why but they didn't. they said to just come in and ask for one and they'll pull it out of the back for me. so i went and they did. i really doubt they're going to put the xbox 360s out on the floor if/when they get them in this weekend.

yeah you and me both man. im hitting up circuit city and 3 different best buys daily for one. i think we will see some this weekend. just make sure you use my strategy and hit some stores up daily to see if they have any and make sure do it as soon as they open. im hoping by friday we'll see something.

I'm gave up on calling the places, so during I get my lunch break I just go around to each store and take a look really quick. Best bet? Saturday Morning.

yeah, the people on the phone give you a one word answer and aren't very helpful. half of them don't know what the hell is going on anyway. i called a toys r us to asked what accessories they had for the 360(i was looking for a hard drive). he said they had no accessories. i stopped by later to find a whole rack of accessories plus a hard drive. what a jack off.

if you're looking for accessories i think the best thing to do is go on www.gamestop.com find the product you want and then type in your area code to see what gamestop near you has it. if they have it just call to make sure it hasn't sold yet (i think they update the website every 24 hours) and tell them to hold it for you. the usually do 24 hour holds on accessories and games.

but back to the 360... lets hope we see some this weekend. yeah as of now i live down the street from a best buy so im going to hit it up tomorrow before class as well as thursday, friday, and saturday.

fyi i went to best buy after class today and talked to a guy who had no idea what he was talking about (he said an xbox 360 went for 3500 last night on ebay which i do not believe for a second). but i did get some useful info. he said if they do get xbox 360s in this weekend they willl come in a special truck which can come on any day (typical best buy deliveries come 3 times a week on set days). he also said they will not have them on the shelf and they will be kept in the back. so if you go to best buy this weekend looking for one dont get disapointed if you dont see any on the shelf (but dont get your hopes up) you have to ask for one and if they're in stock they will pull it out for you.

This makes no sense. Isn't Best Buy in the business of selling electronics? Why would they keep something in the back that they can sell in 10 seconds? They don't care who buys it, just that it gets sold. I am very skeptical about this. I'm just hitting "refresh" on my browser every hour or so - hopefully they will be in stock one of these days...

He replied, "Well thats just for the really big cities, Microsoft has a shipping list and small cities won't receive 360's for a long time". I just thinks its funny how retail employee's who know nothign just come up with these off the wall lies.

Talk with a manager of Sam's Club who told me according to wwhat he has heard from the corporate office they are to be receiving a shipment some time betwwen the 7th and 10th of Dec. He also said that they were going to be mostly Premium systems. Unfortunately he was not sure as to how many, which I'm sure no one knows for sure.
As I side note it seems from what I can summize most Best Buy's received the majority of the systems. (Which makes sense seeing as how B.B. and Micr. are offical partnors) But that is totally not the case in Ohio where Wal-mart, who owns Sam's Club, received more units by far!
I do not really have a point or any Wal-Mart/Sam's Club theory just some info!

They have done this with systems here from time to time. I think they still do it with the PSP and just stopped doing so with the DS. The GBAdvanced they put in a larg plastic case that had to be unlocked. Usually they have a sign that says to ask for a sales rep or telling you that they do have them in stock.

As for the shipments most places most likely don't know when they are geting them or how many they are geting. I was just reading the paper and they were saying that M$ is shipping them out weekly but retailers wont know what day they get them that week and wont know how many come. They could get a shipment at the end of the week and then get another one the next day at the start of the week then not get another one till the end of the next week.

To expand upon what you said, the usual reason they do stuff like this is so that they can make you jump through hoops before you can buy it. Usually that means agreeing to buy games, accessories, service plans, etc. before they will go get the system. Its a way to force you to have to listen to their sales pitch.

Because it can get stolen in 10 seconds as well. When I worked at CC, the only system we kept out of the floor was the SP and we locked it up behind glass.

Xbox, PS2, GC, DS... all of that was kept in the back wherehouse.

The crap I've been reading (e.g., M$ shortages, Sony paying people to bash the 360 on threads, etc.), I find it easier not to worry and let the frenzy happen... Certainly, I'd love to have a 360 to resell for a few extra hundred dollars, but if not, no biggie for me. Something tells me that M$ will flood the market with systems sooner or later to meet that 3 million number... I'm just wanting them to reduce the old Xbox systems to under $100... heck, they could even do that and say, well 360 is backwards compatable, so buying xbox games is not a waste of money if you can't get a 360 this xmas.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought he was saying that there was a secret supply of systems in the back that could only be had by those who asked, not simply storing them in the back for whatever reason with indications on the floor that the item was in-stock.

My local news reported earlier today that major retailers are expecting small shipments of 360 units up to Christmas. This goes along with what Microsoft has been claiming.

However I still got the "nothing till January" when I called my local Best Buy a little bit ago. I plan on hitting up my local Toys R Us, Best Buy, Circuit City, Sams Club, and Wal Marts Friday after I finish my classes and sometime Saturday if I have no luck before then.

The odds of a good sized shipment coming in before christmas is incredibly miniscule, but, I hope that if some do land in stores you guys pick em up. Good luck in the hunt and be sure to check stores that people normally wouldn't flock to for a 360 like (in my case) circuit city, sams club, costco, etc.

You think that's bad? I just bought the core bundle II for $1k, and I also swore off the 360 because of the shortage situation. I tried to reason that I could make my PC "like a 360" by using the 360 controller. It didn't work.

I just happened to be checking the usual sites this morning and saw it in stock. I almost didn't believe it. One-click, and I'm instantly $1k more in debt. Like others have said, keep checking. They pop in and out randomly and are gone within a few short minutes. Don't hesitate.

Now I have 10 games, 3 or 4 of which I have no interest in. Anybody looking to swap?

Went to Target this morning because they had two truck shipments last night, I was third in line, they got no 360s. Since their initial launch qty of 12, they have received 4 more. The manager checked other Target stores: nothing in NC, SC, VA, NJ, or MA. But in NY, there were 4 Targets that had at least 10 with one having 16. One was in Queens, I don't remember where the other 3 were. He said it takes 48 hours to update their system, so if you're in or around NY, it may pay to call some Targets.

But hey, whatever you say. You're right. You are on the internet after all.

I was in Walmart last night and overheard some guy ask about when they might get more Xbox 360's. The old man in electronics said "oh we won't be getting any more for about 9 to 12 months." The customer said "no way" and the electronics guy said " that's what they are telling us". Walmart is so clueless it isn't funny.

You have some braindead associates thats all. ALL retailers have idiots like this.

Ive stated a 100 times WM sent out a Dept 5 COMAC that clearly stated starting today you should be able to see how many your store is getting on the next shipment in the PI system. This shipement would arrive in stores around Xmas.

My belief is the earliest you may see thie shipment is the week of Dec 12th.

Yeah you guys really need to listen to DX about Wal-Mart, we both got the Comac from the pipeline and Wal-Mart isn't getting any XBoxs till then. The only way one will reach the shelf is because it was a return, and even then a employee would grab it before a customer.

Thank you.

When the next shipment comes in one of them is mine with a 20% discount.

Im just wondering if I should run back to receiving when they arrive and lick one and scream "DIBS!".

You should do some research yourself and you'll find many instances of Xbox 360s freezing up and resetting. Check out some of the EGM editors at 1up if you don't believe people. Also check out the blogs about MS sending people boxes to return their defective units.

You must be in the camp where if your Xbox is ok everyone elses must be.

I work at a BB, and I talked to the media supervisor yesterday about when the next shipment was coming in. He told me that it will be coming in the week of the 18th.

I asked him if there will be a line for it, like the "first" launch date, and told me yes. So I'm guessing that most BB stores will get around the same number of units again that they did on Nov. 22.

Also, people have been mentioning about how they will keep the units in the back if there are any left over and that is what my BB will do. I asked why, and they replied that people will go crazy if they see X360's just sitting there. So to cut out the chaos, you will have to just randomly ask and hope for a yes.

So if you want to get one at BB, be prepared to either wait overnight for one and hope for the best, or go to as many as possible on the 18th and just ask someone in the media department.

Good luck everyone!

A Target on LI recieved 8 in yesterday, they were sold in just under 2 hours

I posted this in the other shipment thread as well. The amount of effort that goes into trying to be informed is overwhelming, and yet there are those already doing it. I don't care when I get a 360, because it doesn't matter since I cant play it till christmas. The only downside to not paying for a 360 yourself

When I was in GameRush today, I heard the guy talking about the Xbox 360. He said they might get some in on Wednesday, but they should have more in by the 16th for sure. FYI, this was a GameRush in the Atlanta area.

yeah im going to target tomorrow morning again. FUCK im doing this constantly. oh well. i figure i might as well do it.

i had them do a merchandise locate thing for me and the computer said mission valley target had 11 xbox 360s. so i called mission valley target and they told me they havn't gotten a single system since launch. bullshit? i think so. i've come to the conclusion that employees are probably just holding them for themselves or friends. i dont blame them though. i would do the same thing.

clueless

yeah but I thought all the gamestop and ebgames are just filling back orders. are you saying that they got 2 which sold to the general public and not preorders?

theeipi
12-07-2005, 12:54 PM
no, but they did state that the entire gamestop allocation for that week was 1,000 and that they didn't think any would be made available to the public for quite some time at their store.

luckily, i was one of the two! my nephew will have a nice x-mas present while i still wait for the other ones i ordered for me and my brother.

Is there any arguement that Microsoft has raised the bar (or lowered considering how you look at it) for the worst console launch ever? Not the product itself, just the launch.

had Target search on Weds and there was none in the Pittsburgh area, but said that they expect them in small amounts over the weeks. the guy at the electronics was no use but the girl at the customer svc counter at least tried to look them up for me :)

DVDempire.com had bundles in stock when I checked yesterday. Bundle costs $799.99 which includes Gun, PDZ, Tiger Woods, and Live 1 year gold membership.

The strange thing is that if you were to buy all those separately at MSRP, it would cost only $639.95.

Sad to see reputable online stores jack up prices like this. You would think by purchasing a bundle, you should at least get a slight discount compared to buying everything individually.

Get free shipping at least...

12-20-2005, 12:17 PM
$140 for free shipping ... yeah sad indeed.

also walmart had a holiday bundle showing up $899 with three games and 5.1 surround but everytime I added a premium console and games it said config not valid in my order cart :(

looks like maybe only 360 core units ??
