I couldn't find very many reviews so I was wondering if any of you knew if this 26" Panasonic hdtv is any good:

It's currently on sale for $399.99 and looks like a pretty damn good deal. One thing that I couldn't see is what its native and max resolutions are.

EDIT: I'm a little torn on the matter since I'm trying to decide if I even need an hdtv right now. I'm also looking at this standard flat-screen 27" Magnavox for only $199:

It looks good for the price. its got an hdmi input so you can watch high def on dvd--only thing is you have to get a dvd player with hdmi output. theres no info whether this tv has component input which i would assume will have it. if it does, then its good to go playing high def games for xbox, ps2 and the next gen consoles. only bad thing is, it doesnt have a built in hdtv so you'll have to buy a hdtv converter in order to watch hdtv signals. I like this tv for gaming or an extra tv.

They wouldn't build an HDTV without at least 1 component..

That's a MUCH Better TV than a standard 27" Magnavox.

I'm not familiar with hdmi. Is that independent from component inputs? Does the hdmi let me output higher than 480p?

That's a good tv for the price. Get it if size and weight aren't an issue for you.

HDMI is for hi definition input, so for connecting tuners, boxes, upconverting DVD players and the PS3 when it's released. Basically if you want HD, then you want to have HDMI inputs on your HDTV.

Allright I just decided to go for the standard flat-screen tv. I figured that its a great price at $200 since I don't really plan on taking advantage of hdtv for a good number of years. Thatks for the help.
