I've been hearing that there were some changes made in Revenge that somewhat ruined the game and that Burnout 3 was therefore better. Is this true?

I couldn't tell you from personal experneice, but from what I've heard, Burnout 3 is generally prefered over Revenge.

5-2 for Burnout 3.
Price isn't a consideration, BTW.

I think Burnout 3 is like GTA III in that it was revolutionary, a first of its kind. However, as with vice city and san andreas (not drowning, being able to jump out of moving vehicles, a decent flying experience, etc.), the small improvements such as the race crashbreaker and a crash mode that doesn't rely on hitting a crash multiplier makes revenge better than burnout 3 in my book. (without considering price)
edit: I forgot to mention the sheer frustration of rear-ending a slow moving car or van in burnout 3 which would have went flying forward in revenge.

Ack...get both.
BO3 can be had for under $20 and Revenge can be had for around $25 at Gamefly.
But if you're getting an Xbox 360...may want to hold off on Revenge as they're brining it to the 360...

There was just a long thread about this a couple weeks ago.

Burnout 3 was harder , blew through Revenge but those F1 races at the very end of Burnout 3 really took some patience. Honestly though I would get both, 3 to start out with and 4 later. That way when you're disappointed your Burnout experience is over you can start Revenge.

Burnout 3.
I didn't like how in Revenge you could just crash into traffic. In Burnout 3 there was a sense of fear and anxiety when I was racing against a friend and knew if I messed up even just a little bit I'd lose the place I was in. I liked that.

Quick question:
In Burnout 3, just like in many of the Need for Speed games, those who are further back in place will go faster than those who are near the front. I guess makes the game more arcade-like and gives more competition. HOwever, I was rather miffed how Computer players who would crash multiple times were still able to catch up to me in a matter of seconds, whereas it would take me a long time to catch up. Does Revenge employ the same feature?
