What if you go in a store on, let's say, the 26th and the price is marked $49.99. Are they required to sell it to you for the new price? I just wonder how many stores will mark them the new prices or you'll have to wait for new stock.
blackcracker
09-18-2003, 07:14 PM
I would assume that no matter what. You should be able to get them at that price. This is an official price change from Nintendo. As for waiting for the actual product with that "player's choice" logo on it. I have no idea. I would just argue your point to get your game at the right price.

There are only 7 Player's Choice titles now, with only 1 being a non-Nintendo produced title. Yeah, sure.....
That is kind of annoying.

There isn't a set a number a game must sell to beome PC. They just slap in on whatever's convenient. And really, what kind of player would choose crazy taxi, burnout, crash bandicoot, or spyro?

Um...that is stupid. The store is allowed to sell it for whatever the hell they want to. Now, Nintendo might get upset and punish them, or people might not buy it because they know they can get it for less. People can sell things for whatever the hell they want to. I know those people that got $5 BB games and are looking to sell, agree with me on this.

its more of a reference than a "go-to guide" and at times it can mean other things. no need for a link cause most ppl know what it is. but you should be reading the stickys anyways.

Wait, also add the Sonic Mega Collection like someone earlier mentioned... sheesh, will this thing ever update? :?

Wait, also add the Sonic Mega Collection like someone earlier mentioned... sheesh, will this thing ever update? :?The front page won't unless a mod will help out. I only see a few $30 PC titles so it's not that big of a deal. I just can't believe Animal Crossing takes up 5b-61 blocks of memory. It's a good thing it comes with the memory card.

I was in a Sam Goody a couple months ago and came across Dave Mirra 2, so I stand corrected on that one. Still haven't seen a PC Rayman 3 though, if it even exists.
I saw another PC Burnout at the same Sam Goody. Oddly enough, that Sam Goody store is the only place I've seen the PC Dave Mirra 2.
I'm guessing that the PC versions of Burnout and Dave Mirra 2 aren't as common as other Player's Choice variations because both games were published by Acclaim, and we know what happened to them. Also, neither game became a PS2 GH or XBox PH title, making these more odd.
Kinda funny to think that a PC variation of a game being harder to find than the non-PC...

i wasn't really sure where to put this, and it certainly didn't deserve its own topic...
but at target this past weekend, i noticed something odd. smash bros has been re-released yet again, this time WITHOUT the yellow players choice bar across the top, but WITH the best seller emblem on the bottom.
i can't understand why they would do this, especially since the players choice wind waker has both already... but, anyone looking for a copy of smash bros without the yellow bar (or yellow spine) should be able to find one easily now.

I have a feeling if they did this with Smash Bros., maybe they had a lot of complaints about the yellow Player's Choice, and this is how they plan on correcting it? Since they are putting with and without the label, maybe they plan to make that the new Player's Choice...

but at target this past weekend, i noticed something odd. smash bros has been re-released yet again, this time WITHOUT the yellow players choice bar across the top, but WITH the best seller emblem on the bottom.
i can't understand why they would do this, especially since the players choice wind waker has both already... but, anyone looking for a copy of smash bros without the yellow bar (or yellow spine) should be able to find one easily now.
I have a feeling if they did this with Smash Bros., maybe they had a lot of complaints about the yellow Player's Choice, and this is how they plan on correcting it? Since they are putting with and without the label, maybe they plan to make that the new Player's Choice...
I doubt it, but we can hope. [-o<
i wasn't really sure where to put this, and it certainly didn't deserve its own topic...

Or maybe Nintendo is doing this to give them an excuse to keep the price at $30. It wouldn't make sense if all PC games were $20 except for this one. Speaking of which, does it bother anyone else that Mario Golf came out way later than Smash Bros. and yet MG is $20 and Smash is still $30?

Smash Bros is still selling well at that price. Mario Golf probably wasn't selling as well anymore, so they dropped it to $20. It's all up to Nintendo when they do it. I wish Smash Bros would drop so I could finally rebuy it.

I wish I had the regular black border on my copy. #-o It is the only Gamecube game I own with the damn Player's Choice cover!
And, I have Pac-Man World 2/ Pac-Man Vs. that always has it...

it was not a sticker, it was actually printed on the cover, like with all the other "best seller" emblems. and they didn't have a price with it, so i can only assume that it was still $30.
how long before we have a "Nintendo's Best Seller list" thread? This entire practice of marking games differently based on sales is starting to really be a pain in the ass.

Really? Whats funny is it's been 20$ for a long time now - maybe they're just trying to milk some more $$ out of it. It's better on the PS2 anyway.

I personally have seen SSX Tricky in players choice garb because I picked one up at last summer's Cc $5 sale and that is its packaging. I'm not too sure of Rayman 3 though but LOTR: Return of the King and NBA Street definitely are.

NintendoFanGirl- if you're going by nintendo's site... don't.
they don't have a clue... that thing is rarely updated, usually only when first party titles go PC, and even then many third party titles aren't added.
with the exception of rayman 3, this list is accurate. and i must be the only person who has seen it players choice. they had a ton of them at my local target before the game was clearanced out.

I can verify Rayman 3 and Quidditch Cup. Quidditch Cup I've seen at Player's Choice for awhile.
To be honest, I stopped coming into this thread because it hadn't been updated in a long time.
Rather than having to have a mod update it, can't we just unsticky this, lock/delete it, and have someone who will actually maintain it restart the thread?
