Im sure everyone can think of something where the law doesnt protect those victimized. My reason for starting this thread is because-

In central texas, an elderly lady was going about her business in her yard mowing and working the garden. At some point in time a pack of dogs that were pitt bull and rot mix attacked her in her front yard and killed her. Someone trying to help her got attacked and lived to tell the story.

The dogs werent a wild pack but her neighbors dogs. When trying to get the dogs into animal control 'custody', one tried attacking and was shot, the rest were taken and eventually deemed too dangerous to live.

Head sheriff tells the news story that there really wasnt much he could do to the owner of the dogs. Why? No leash law outside of city limits.

I don't know where this falls. But my next door neighbor got caught cheating by his GF. early that year she bought him a used car for his birthday she put it in her name. They broke up and don't live together. Anyway one night he comes over and says did we see or hear anyone. We say no cause we didn't. She slashed all 4 tires on it, He calls the cops. They come out and then run the plates and all that, tell him sir since it's in her name she basically destroy her own property and their is nothing we can do. However they give him a ticket for having a inoperable auto that is an eye sore on his property (not technical term) He looks at the cops and says well it's her car he problem. Nope on your property, your problem. Were close my neighbors and I. I don't think I wanted to bury a cop as much as that night. The cop knew it was the GF car and in her name. But my neighbor gets a ticket in his name cause of her car. really fucked up.

The lesson here is: if you're in Texas, you'd better take advantage of the liberal (not in the political sense, mind you) gun laws. Because Texas is full of Texans.

Because Texas is full of Texans.

I resent that statement, and here do challenge you to a Gentlemens' Duel at High Noon in front of the local saloon.

Ooh, that means I choose weapons. I pick Star Trek commemorative spoons. You get Spock and I get Kirk.

In my city, it's illegal to wear blue jeans on Sunday or have an ice cream cone in your back pocket.

Obviously they're not enforced.

If I remember correctly, you can shoot trespassers in texas assuming you have a sign staying "no trespassing" within sight.

It would be funny if some guy who lived near hunting grounds decided to use this. In vermont people often hunt on others property. In my area everyone can use everyones else land as long as they don't interfere, and a nearby house recently got vandalized for putting no hunting signs on their property. This probably exists in rural texan communities as well. It would be funny if some guy decided to put up no trespassing signs and then shoot all the hunters who stepped onto his property.

At least I'd laugh.

I read somewhere that if you denote a nuclear device in the city, you get a $500 fine. I think it's in Chico, California.
