Gears of War delayed?

I know it probably doesn't mean much but EBgames.com switched the release date from Feb. 06' to July 06', has anyone heard of any kind of delays for this game?

More like has anyone heard any other news on the game besides the E3 showing of it. It hasn't had much coverage if any at all since then so it was kind of obvious a delay was coming.

The guy from epic said at zero hour that it would be out sometime within a year of the xbox 360s release. So it could be possible that it got pushed back to July.

retailers usually do a pretty good job of accidently leaking delays and release dates, i would wager that this is true

I thought the release date was always Summer '05.. EB has a ton of games listed for the end of January that won't make it, like Dead Rising, Scarface, Splinter Cell 4, etc.. hell, Gamestop.com is showing Dead Rising at May 1st.. so.. who knows.

From the presentation Cliffy did he has some pretty solid ideas about game design (especially the haloesque checkpoint system). Nothing pisses me off more than devs artificially elongating a game by making you play over useless crap too many times *coff* pursuit force. Anyway he also talked about how the game would use minimal cutscenes and kind of have moments when your view would be nudged to certain things happening. Oh yeah and there will be many ways to open a door =).

Its not a delay if the release date was never said. It is simply the company readjusting their estimate that was way off.

Nope this would be a delay for the fact in the Game Informer article they did about this and Saint's Row a little while ago each of them had a release date for February 06.

It reminds me of Brute Force.. I'm 60% sure gears of war will be mediocre. Just like Unreal.

Though it would be sweet to get a copy of this right now I think the wait will be well worth it. Great games take time and Cliffy B does not disappoint. If it weren't exclusive to 360 I would say the delay is pushed back for a simultaneous release on PS3, but this is not the case...unless they pull a Capcom w/ RE4 going to PS2.

It's got good graphics, and unlike Brute force it has it's own niche of being a good cover game with intuitive controls. From a game design perspective they're trying to do everything right which is a start. Could the game suck? sure it's possible but from what they've shown it has promise that deserves it's hype.

As for pushing back to fall, it's possible. Thier only current window is by a year from launch of the 360.
