I downloaded the demo...I'm loving this game, maybe it's because I was expecting utter poopness, but I think this game is hot.

yes, it fucken blows. I call it NBA NHL Live 2006 for the fact that your players skate instead of really dribble, ONE TIMER!!!!!!

I would have to say the only positives are the graphics and maybe the ability to shootaround while the game is loading, EA fucked the pooch on both Live and Madden for this launch; pretty is good, but without solid gameplay I'm left with a digital photo/movie. As for Live the gameplay feels slow especially in the transition portion. Also if you're going to introduce a new way to shoot free throws give us a training option. Also in respects to setting up the Offense/Defense EA over did this to compete with 2K; they're overcompensating to appeal to the simulated crowd. I haven't tried NBA 2K6, but it has received more positive reviews and it has been the dominant title for the NBA. I would recommend renting both before purchasing, I think you will be suprised to see that Live is not what it seems and 2K has a stronghold. Ironic how Madden is so simulated and Live was arcadey (I realize that 2 seperate teams work on the titles), but now that 2k is the big dog in the sport EA attempts to compete and again fails miserably.

I think the reason you like this game is because you're enjoying a FREE demo...try paying $60 for the real version, then come back and tell us what you think.

I had 05' for xbox...I don't know, maybe I'm trippin' but I like it...NBA2K1 is my fave of all time, how does 2k6 compare to that? B/c imo the 2K series got too simmy from 2K3 on

I thought it was awful. I've always been a 2K fan, but this was a new low for EA: bad cameras, bad freethrow shooting, bare-bones feature set, etc. My full review is here: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox-360/nba-live-06/669400p1.html

Trust me, get NBA 2K6. I played the Live demo, thought it was pretty bad. Good graphics, bad gameplay. Bought NBA2K6 based on reviews and recommendations here. One word: wow. By far the best sports game I have played on 360 (better than Madden, Tiger, Live)

I agree that 2K6 is the bomb on 360 it's the same game as on Xbox with amazing graphics -- which was enough for me to shelve the Xbox version. At least it kept everything, unlike Live.

Really???? How's it play? Is it like 2K1 or 2k3...Like when your dribbling and put a move on, do you avoid a defender, or do you get stopped...Is it simmy or arcadey?

^^^ Which game are you talking about, Live or 2K6? 2K has always been the most sim hoops game, and it continues now. You do dribble moves not with the right stick, but holding a shoulder and using the normal movement stick. The right stick is for setting up shots, and lets you pick the type of dunk or layup you attempt. It's not as tough-pounding as Live in terms of getting inside, but I think it's a great balance. In my opinion, it's the best hoops game yet.
However, I had to give it 4 stars out of 5 instead of the 5/5 I gave the PS2/Xbox versions because A) it's really the exact same game besides graphics, and B) online play is too laggy.
