No, its a supermarket called Daei. Its 4 stories, with the supermarket on the first floor and its own department store on floors 2-4 (including a 100yen shop, Mrs. Cheapy's favorite).

I read that they have just launched near beer for children in Japan. D, you gotta get a photo of that!!!!

Heh, we have Daiei here in Hawaii, but they don't sell the gift-wrapped beer I'm afraid.

Kirin is my favorite J-Beer.
I've only ever found one place that sold it, A Japanese-National run Karaoke/Suchi bar, called Otani.
Does anyone know what Otani means?

Yebisu is very good, though I dunno about canned.
Stay the fuck away from Orion, however.
Truth be told, I had considered giving away six-packs of beer I've made as gifts; I found that there aren't too many people that I haven't bought anything for. Perhaps if some bullshit secret santa thing pops up then I'll give some of my steam bear away.
Which also reminds me of the finest non-Japanese Japanese beer I've had; my neighbor a few doors down (who is light years better than me in brewing) made a Sapporo-style clone from scratch, but added gari (pickled ginger) to the wort as it fermented. Fucking fan-tas-tic!

Zymergy? That's amazing! I've been brewing my own for a little less than a year now. I'm still not very good. It's good to hear another homebrewer on here though.

apparently, they dont wrap christmas up in a bunch of sentimental religious stuff, they know damn well its a corporate holiday and they dont try to hide it,
they just give gifts

Beats me, but I remember going to a place named Otani once or twice when I lived in Columbus. Some Japanese restaurant on the first floor of a corporate building.
One of the Chinese buffets near me sells Japanese beer. All the sushi places also sold Japanese beer. Can't say I liked any of the Japanese/Rice beers much at all.

I normally don't drink beer because I think it's nasty. But I ended up downing 3 of the big cans one night w/ friends with no feelings of revulsion.
What does that mean? Perhaps I'm a closet alcoholic, I just don't know it...
