I now have the 360 to hook up with the internet, but now am struggling with getting actually recognized on a network..

ANyone have any advice?

What wireless adapter are you using?? Encryption??

the wireless adaptor is the 'official' one from xbox.

security wpa psk.

Turn off security and see if it connects. I have the offical one but security turned off. I just popped in the cd and it worked no prob.

I have the old one (black, cat-5 connector). It came with a cd, guess the new one doesn't. Regardless, turn off your security (for now) and see if it works then.

turned off, it recognizes the network but the IP addresses and things are not filling in.

on the network testing there are 4 steps.

Network adapter---that passes
Wireless network---that passes
IP address--- Fails
Computer---- never get to that one because the ip adress is incorrect.
