Dlink Router at Best Buy for 20 (is it worth it)

I know I posted a topic like this before but Best Buy has a router for 20 after rebate and I was wondering if it was decent(someone said Dlink was lousy while two people said they fixed thier problems last time). also could someone tell me if that would be sufficient for hooking up two PC's and Xbox live when I turn it back on. Also how much of a hit in speed am I going to take.

On top of that could someone tell me where I could find some cheap 50 ft. ethernet cables to hook up the the PC's and Xbox.

Should be fine, and you can get the cable at Best Buy too. 50 foot should be like 15-16 bucks.

I personally hate D-Link, though, but that should work fine.

Youll only take a hit if both comps and xboxlive are on at the same time...put the two comps to sleep before going on LIVE and youll be fine...

it should be fine. They run at 100Mb and nothing uses that much bandwith, so you wont see a speed decrease. Um as far as the cable goes, just look for a good deal CC had some for like $8. not too bad of a deal for 50 feet.

on a side note, I purchased a hard drive a while ago and when I opened up the case to install it, the other one was clipped into place but there was no clip for the second. Wires to hook it up dangled but there was nothing to hook it into place. I only spent like 5 minutes though as I opened the case up while moving out, and did not have time to hook it up. I was wondering when I go out tomorrow if I should buy something to clip it into place or if it should be inside the package (I have not opened up the plastic with the drive in inside)

on a side note would it be worth it to spend the extra 10 for the belkin router?

There is a %99 the router will work out of the box.
It will act as a DHCP server. It will assign IP addresses to you computers and xbox. Some things are different with ISP so check on dlinks website for specific info. Can the hard drive be screwed in place?

I've had a DLink router for nearly a year now. I run two machines and my Xbox through it with zero problems. I've had all of them going at the same time with no lag anywhere.

On the hard drive, I'm not sure what sort of clip you're talking about. I've seen a lot of hardware setups but I don't remember seeing a clip. I've seen some machines that have stuff screwed to the hard drive that allow the drive to be removed without tools, and that might be the case here.

Ya, my antecs have the drive rails, they rule. I have seen some interesting configurations on old dell, compaqs, and hps though.

I've seen plenty of drive rails and some old Compaqs have this weird snap-in-and-latch to hold the hard drive. But a clip? New to me. Might just be nomenclature though.
